Idle Champion Spotlight: Flint Fireforge
Posted in Idle Champions.

Flint Fireforge is many things - a fearless warrior, a renowned craftsman, and a loyal friend to the bitter end. He is the gruff and grumbling fatherly figure among his group of companions, fiercely protective of them despite seeming to be constantly frustrated by their choices (some moreso than others). He is swift to act when danger appears, leading the charge with fury and reckless abandon against the evil forces of Takhisis.
Flint is a Support and Tanking Champion who buffs Champions in his column and the column behind him based on how many Champions are adjacent to him. He also decreases the damage Champions take and increases the damage they do if an adventure has lots of Underground areas. Once unlocked, you can find this dwarf fighter in Seat 9 (Makos).

To learn everything you need to know about this cantankerous member of the Heroes of the Lance, read on!

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Battleaxe (melee) - Flint attacks the nearest enemy with his trusty battleaxe.

Passive Abilities

  • That Doorknob Kender - Despite how annoyed and frustrated Flint can be when it comes to Tasslehoff, the two are inseparable. If Tasslehoff qualifies for an adventure restriction based on his tags, age, ability scores, etc., Flint may be used as well.

Formation Abilities

  • Forged Bonds - Flint gains a Forged Bonds stack for each Champion adjacent to him. Flint buffs all Champions in his column and the column behind him by 100% for each Forged Bonds stack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Stubborn Determination - Flint reduces the damage taken by all Champions by 10% for each Forged Bonds stack he currently has, stacking additively and capping at 90%.
  • Stonecunning - The effect of Forged Bonds is increased by 10% for each completed area in the current adventure that was Underground.
  • Take The Initiative - Until he takes damage in an area, Flint gains an Initiative stack whenever he attacks an enemy. Once he has taken damage, Flint gains Follow-Through stacks when he attacks instead. The damage of Forged Bonds is increased by 100% for each Follow-Through stack he has, stacking multiplicatively. The number of Follow-Through stacks can not exceed the number of Initiative stacks he has gained, and Initiative caps at 100 stacks. Both stacks reset when changing areas or when Flint is moved in the formation or removed from it.

Specializations A

  • Fatherly Advice - Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 100% for each Champion in the formation who is 40 years old or younger, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Forged in War - Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 150% for each Heroes of the Lance Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Blood of Reorx - Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 200% for each dwarf in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations B

  • Craft Maker - Flint gains the Gold role and the party's Gold Find is increased proportionally based upon the max health of enemies in the current area. For each order of magnitude of max health the enemies have, the party's Gold Find is increased by 15%, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Foe Breaker - Flint gains the Breaker role. Attacks from Champions who are affected by Flint's Forged Bonds ability (including himself) remove an extra segment from enemies with segmented, armored, or critical health.
  • Life Taker - Flint gains the DPS role and increases his own damage by 1000% for each Forged Bonds stack he has, stacking multiplicatively. His base attack also gains a small cleave.

Ultimate Ability

  • Hammer of Reorx (melee) - Flint deals one ultimate hit to a small group of nearby enemies, knocking them far away and stunning them.

Introducing Mastery Variants!
Posted in Idle Champions.

Adventures in Idle Champions have always offered up to three Variants to test your mettle... until now!

Today, we're introducing Mastery Variants, a new fourth Variant tier available now for the first adventure of nearly every campaign.

These variants are not for the faint of heart (or low ilevels). Expect daunting restrictions, objectives beginning at area 1,425, and even tougher Patron versions. Completing them is the ultimate test of formation mastery and your path to fantastic new play rewards!

With Mastery Comes Rewards:

Mastery Variants introduce Medallions, new currencies earned by completing these difficult Variants. Mastery Medallions can be used to unlock Legendary Feats in the new Mastery Shop, and Patron Mastery Medallions unlock Chromatic Skins in the Patron Shops.

Choose carefully! You won't be able to earn every reward released today from the first batch of Mastery Variants. New Mastery Variants will arrive every month at the end of each event, bringing additional Medallions to earn. Every three months, we'll expand the Mastery and Patron Shops with new Legendary Feats and Chromatic Skins, giving you even more rewards to collect through play!
  • Legendary Feats: Spend Mastery Medallions to unlock powerful Legendary Feats in the new Mastery Shop tab!
    • Each Champion can equip one Legendary Feat in its own dedicated feat slot, and Legendary Feats can be upgraded with Scales of Tiamat to increase their power.
    • Four Legendary Feats are available today: Drizzt, Wulfgar, and Pwent have Legendary Feats unlockable through gameplay using Mastery Medallions. Lae'zel's Legendary Feat is included in a new DLC Pack, along with 6 DPS Pigments.

  • Chromatic Skins: Complete Patron Mastery Variants to earn Patron Mastery Medallions, then spend them on Chromatic Skins in Patron Shops.
    • Today, Jarlaxle & Hew Maan each receive a new Chromatic Skin, with five dragon-inspired color variants based on the Chromatic Dragons.

Are you ready to take on the challenge? Read on to learn more!

Mastery Variants

Today's inaugural batch of Mastery Variants is connected to the first adventures in each of the first 8 campaigns (all campaigns except for Vecna & Tales). In order to see the Mastery Variants, you need to:
  • 1. Have all 10 Campaigns unlocked.
  • 2. Have completed all three variants of the base adventure

A Grand Tour of the Sword Coast: Beast Intentions

Variant: Mastery - Basic Buzzing

Horrible beasts are carrying off villagers and must be stopped primarily by non-event Champions.
  • You may only use three Champions who are neither Core nor Evergreen Champions. If you have more than three Champions who are neither Core nor Evergreen in your formation, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • Champions of the same species cannot be placed next to each other. If they are, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • In each area, a fly spawns alongside the first wave of enemies. An additional fly spawns for every 25 areas completed, up to a maximum of 50 flies. Flies do not drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Other enemies cannot be damaged until all of the flies in an area have been dealt with.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 1,425

  • Every time an area's quest is completed, your BUD-setting Champion is instantly killed.
  • Your BUD-setting Champion cannot be removed nor swapped out of the formation.
  • Each time a Champion is killed, their DPS is reduced by 50% permanently for the rest of the adventure, stacking multiplicatively.
  • The two Treasure Hunters from the third variant join the formation again. They refuse to travel with anyone smarter than them, so only Champions with an INT score of 12 or lower are allowed to be placed adjacent to them.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 1,525

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - A Mysterious Summons

Variant: Mastery - Force Grey Takes Sides

  • You can't add any other Champions with the DPS role.

  • All Champions join the faction war. All Champions in even bench seats support the Zhentarim, and all Champions in odd bench seats support the Xanathar.
  • Champions supporting the Xanathar deal no damage to Xanathar enemies.
  • Champions supporting the Zhentarim deal no damage to Zhentarim enemies.
  • Champions supporting one faction deal 0 damage if they are adjacent to 2 or more Champions supporting the opposite faction.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 1,625

  • The number of Champions in the formation may not exceed the highest area unlocked divided by 175, rounded up.
  • Champions from the same original event year cannot be placed adjacent to each other in the formation. If they are, the damage of all Champions is set to 0. All Core and Evergreen Champions count as being from the same "event" year.
  • 1-2 imps spawn with each wave. They do not count for quest progress and drop no gold.
  • Complete Area 1,725

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden - The Giant's Bane Tavern

Variant: Mastery - The Real Power of Three

Enter Icewind Dale and get lost in the storm with a particular set of Champions.
  • You must have Volothamp "Volo" Geddarm unlocked in order to start this variant.
  • Volothamp "Volo" Geddarm starts in the formation. He cannot be removed.
  • Only Volo, Champions with the Hunter role, Champions from the Absolute Adversaries, or Champions with a Magic base attack can be used.
  • Starting at area 50, you must use a Champion from bench seats 3, 6, and 12. If you do not, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • Champions from seats 3, 6, and 12 must be placed adjacent to Volo. If they are not, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • Three Well-Dressed Bandits appear before the first wave of each boss area. They must be defeated before any other enemies can take damage. One of the bandits has hits-based health, one has armor-based health, and one has crit-based health.
  • Complete Area 1,825

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight - Tall Tales

Variant: Mastery - Follow The Leader

Learn about the history of the Champions & their urchin friends around the campfire.
  • Only Elves, Half-Elves, and Gnomes (of any class) and Druids, Barbarians, and Rangers (of any species) can be used.
  • You cannot have two Champions of the same Species or two Champions of the same Class adjacent to each other. If you do, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • A lesser fire elemental joins the formation. Champions adjacent to it take damage equal to 5% of their max health each second.
  • Only the Champion in the indicated formation slot can deal damage.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 1,925

Help Laeral Silverhand understand a new threat to Waterdeep while keeping Squiddly's new rocket from exploding.
  • You may only use Elf or Half-Elf Champions in the front two columns.
  • You may only use Champions with the Speed role in the back column.
  • Squiddly riding a rocket joins the formation.
  • If you take more than 20 seconds to complete an area, Squiddly's rocket explodes, and you immediately fail the area (Squiddly is fine; he has a backup rocket in the previous area).
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 2,025

Turn of Fortune's Wheel - The Beginning is the End

Variant: Mastery - Tomb of Champions IV: Out of Time

Return to the Tomb of Annihilation (a couple of times) to stop Acererak from assembling a villainous super team!
  • Every 10 minutes of real time, all Champions are removed from the formation and can't be used for the rest of the adventure. The timer only restarts when a Champion is added to the formation.
  • Once a Champion has been added to the formation, they may not be removed or swapped out.
  • Once there are 2 Speed Champions in your formation, you may not add any more.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 2,125

Medallions

Mastery Variants introduce two new currencies: Mastery Medallions and Patron Mastery Medallions. Earn them by completing Mastery Variants and Patron Mastery Variants, then spend them on powerful new rewards!

Mastery Medallions

  • Each completed Mastery Variant rewards 1 Mastery Medallion.

BW2: Summer Carnival Event 2026 Edition
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Summer Carnival Event 2026

The Carnival has returned to town! Get ready to play some games, help some Bushwhackian residents and win carnival tokens which you can exchange for cool prizes at the Carnival Event Vendor!

The Carnival Games

A staple of any summer carnival or fair, are those devilish carnival games. There are four different games which will unlock over the course of the event and they include "Balloon Popper," "Whack-A-Mole," "Baseball Throw," and "Duck Shoot." Don't worry, there's no skill involved with these games, you play them automatically when you interact with them.

- It costs 4 carnival tickets to play each game, and you can whack those tickets out of the bushes, or purchase them from Timmy in the Event area for Bush Bucks (30 Salvaged Tickets for 30 Bush Bucks)

- You receive Carnival Tokens based on how well you do. Now, we're not saying they're rigged in the Carnival's favour or anything, but you'll definitely want to ask your friends to help you rig these games to help you!

To get started, the Balloon Popper game is unlocked! As well, it seems William needs your help to satisfy his sweet-tooth!

A Teleporter to Somewhere...

The Pandaclaw was wandering around here somewhere....build the teleporter and complete all the quests and get your very own!

The Dunk Tank

The dunk tank returns! Can you dunk all 8 helpless Bushwhackian residents? NPCs you haven't dunked yet will have a yellow exclamation mark above their heads, to let you know you still need to send them plunging into the icy waters of the tank! It'll help them all cool off. Plus, the tank is always in need of cleaning, so try to keep up with Katherine's daily Dunk Tank Cleaning quests!

Clowning Around

Peat Bog, Pete the Carney's brother has some tasks for you to help him put on a show!

Testing Your Power

And how are your Power collection skills? Are you strong enough to win all the bonus prizes? There are 7 strength settings to beat, unlocking as the event goes on as Strong-Whacker Sabine continuously tries to increase the difficulty of her Strong-Whacker Strength Machine Game.

A Fortune Told

Baba Pythia's seen the future, and it's of you helping her set up a fortune telling booth at the event!

Big Top Blow Out!

A menagerie of circus critters have escaped the big top, and the shady guy wants to know what they were hiding in there! Help him get the details in this challenging new quest.

VIP Rewards!

Active VIP members can claim unique rewards based on their event progress! If you don't have an active membership, you have the entire event to consider becoming one! You can earn and claim these rewards until the end of the event.

New this year

This year's update includes:

- new tier 4 and 5 VIP rewards!
- new costume items in the store!
- new ranch items in the store!
- new pet packs!
- new mount packs!
- new holiday 100% reward!
- new bushy woods creature to capture!
- changed the Strong Whacker strength game to only subtract the required amount of power instead of your entire full Power bar amount

Holiday Plushie

If you can complete the event, you'll earn this awesome 100% reward: The Carnival Banner! Collect them all!

A New Hunt!

This year, you'll have to choice of hunting down a new creature instead of the Pandaclaw! Select which creature you're hunting down after they're revealed in the Bushy Woods field puzzle.

If you're still working on Pandaclaw transmogrifies, you can still choose to hunt down the Pandaclaw, then once you complete the teleporter quest line and capture it, Taban the Teleporter Engineer will offer to transmogrify your Pandaclaw companions, changing their appearance, with science!

And more!

And there's some minor fixes and improvements which you can check out on the Release Notes, which are linked at the bottom of the page!

BW2: Creature Collector - Pig mounts!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Coppers of the Creature Collector

The eccentric Creature Collector has returned to the Commons, this time with a trio of oinking pig mounts!

Head to the event area and choose one to train. You have until noon on Wednesday July 8th to complete the collector's four daily quests, level up your chosen creature, earn Creature Coppers to spend in their store, and get another page to your Creature Collector's Compendium!

The Compendium Page will be given after the event ends. If you don't have the Creature Collector's Compendium ranch item, you'll get it when you get your first page.

After the event, the collector will be taking their creature back unless you adopt it by purchasing its corresponding mount pack, available starting Friday July 3rd.

Train hard, Bush Whackers!

The training quests unlock at noon on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Those busy on the weekends can still catch up!

Notes
- The VIP "Quest Reset" power does not reset these mini event quests, and they are not affected by the Time Turner and Timey Whimey Watch.
- Swapping your event mount with a higher level mount doesn't count towards event progress.
- These three mounts earn double the experience compared to other mounts for the duration of this mini-event!
- Expiring mounts cannot have their bonuses swapped.

Ye Olde Creature Collector's Galleria - Mounts

When you speak to Tanela Tiva in the event area, you can select the "What past mounts are for sale?" chat option.

This will open a new store, which will contain 3 non-event premium mounts you have never owned! They cost Bush Bucks, like in event stores. The selection will change next time Tanela Tiva visits to event area.

We've done this in response to players asking to see old premium mounts they've missed out on, to help you fill out your pet collection. Snag those old-school mounts you're missing out on!

Idle Champions: Founders' Day 2026!
Posted in Idle Champions.

Founders' Day has arrived! Recruit the legendary monster hunter Rudolph van Richten, and rediscover Flex Champions Nahara, Strongheart, and Walnut with their fresh rebalances, available today! Complete your gothic looks with eerie new dread-domain skins and familiars released throughout the month!
Celebrations are underway to commemorate the founding of the Free City of Waterdeep. Founders Day attracts huge crowds to the Field of Triumph, where audiences watch illusory shows about Waterdeep's history and martial exhibitions by notable Champions and the renown city guard.

Festivities have also brought an ancient power from Avernus, first layer of the Nine Hells. A fallen angel has arrived to collect souls for the Blood War...

Event Updates

This update includes an exciting change to our event structure, with an expansion of featured updates for Champions. Instead of a single reworked Champion this month, THREE of this event's Champions have had targeted rebalances, pumping up their numbers to make them more effective in your formations. You'll find updates to Nahara, Strongheart, and Walnut available for flex slots now!

Flex Champions

Flex Slots allow players to unlock additional Champions and earn chests during events, choosing from a pool of retired Champions associated with the event. This collection of retired Champions includes the Champions from previous years of the event as well as some Champions whose events have been retired. This event's Flex Slot pool includes the following Champions, three of which have been rebalanced:

Nahara

Nahara Rebalance

  • To Amuse or Avenge is an interesting speed and damage combo ability. We're happy with the speed effect, but have adjusted the damage from additive to multiplicative so that it's much more effective at boosting Nahara's damage at low stacks. We've also made it so that feats and equipment buffing this ability will affect the pre-stack value, providing more oomph if she's well-equipped.
  • Strong Society is Nahara's affiliation synergy and was her featured pre-stack ability. Unfortunately, it was only buffed by a single specialization choice. To fix this, we've swapped her Ultimate Cooldown equipment over to buff this ability, which should provide for a much larger damage boost if you're running a full Black Dice Society formation with decent equipment levels.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Nahara's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Strongheart Rebalance

  • Justice Needs Champions is Strongheart's base buff, and has been bumped up a touch given as he's in a higher bench seat.
  • Our main change to Strongheart is to adjust all three of his specialization choices to be buffed pre-stack by feats and equipment, rather than post-stack. This will be especially powerful for people who run his A Righteous Event specialization at high stacks.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Strongheart's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Walnut Rebalance

  • Documancer was a bit of a NOMBO for Walnut. Since you start each area with zero stacks and must kill enemies to get stacks, it is very ineffective when you reach your wall. We've opted to adjust how the stacks reset, removing only half of them when changing areas instead of resetting them. Additionally, feats and equipment that buff this ability will now apply to the pre-stack value, rather than post-stack.
  • Job's Done intention was to give you a damage bonus at the start of each area so you can get that very important first Documancer stack. With the changes to Documancer, it's more of a passive buff that encourages you to hurry along. We've increased its magnitude and duration to keep it at least somewhat relevant.
  • Wolfnut's temporary hit point shield was some of the only health Walnut received to tank with, so we've increased its magnitude. We've also given Walnut a health-boosting piece of equipment (replacing her Ultimate Damage equipment) and bumped up her base health a bit.
  • We haven't made any changes to Contractual Obligations, since it's just a basic health share ability. The changes to Walnut's max health and equipment should, however, improve this ability's effectiveness.
  • Pen-Paws was a good ability in theory, but just didn't have modern numbers. We've changed the stacking from additive to multiplicative, which gives it several orders of magnitude more impact when fully stacked, as it will definitely be when you're at or near your wall.
  • The Co-Signer specialization's base effect has been doubled to provide more impact in formations with multiple "C"-Team Champions.
  • The Temporary Alliance specialization has been changed from additive to multiplicative to give Walnut more synergy in unaffiliated formations.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Walnut's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Event Augments

  • Golden Offers: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Auto-Blacksmith: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots, if they don't already have better.
Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!
  • Challenge Week: A Mastery Challenge will start on the third week of the event, providing opportunities to prove your formation building skills and earn unique rewards.
  • Supercharged Damage Boon: The Global Damage Boon is supercharged, granting 2,000,000% additional damage per level, instead of 200% (stacking multiplicatively).
You can check out which Augments are active at any time by mousing over the Event Banner.
