BW2: Thankful Thanksgiving Event 2017
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Thanksgiving Time!

The residents of The Commons are preparing for a massive feast to celebrate the end of harvest season, and of course they need your expertise at finding things in bushes!

First and foremost, it's all about helping the chefs fill their food stations to the brim - and beyond. There's three of them for three types of meals, so you'll be collecting Meat, Veggies and of course Deserts to feed the hungry masses of Bushwhackia! Can you make all the Pristine Food? Keep doing turn-ins to achieve it!

On the subject of food - four of the guests have promised they would bring a dish to share, but they've forgotten ingredients.

And then, there's the problem of the Turkeys. Apparently, they need to be rescued in some fashion, so you'll need to get on that. You have the whole event to complete it.

Once again we're celebrating other harvest festivals around the world and hosting an inflatable surprise. They'll unlock as the event goes on. And tune in on Thanksgiving (or after, if you're enjoying your day off), for a fun show!

Of course, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the Black Friday questline introduced last year, and a fridge to store all those leftovers!

New for 2017:
We've added one new quest line this year. Nate is up to something. Help him out once his quest begins.

Plus we've updated the goals required for the ribbons and 100% award, since there are so many quests that award event progress, and added some new quests to the Other Harvest Festivals quest line!

Event Achievements - POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!

Updated Event: Emo's New Moon 2017

Emo's New Moon, Year 3!

Today we unveil our second Tier 3 event: Emo's New Moon! This year's event update includes a very unique new Crusader, Viktor the Vampire, whose support abilities are based upon the tags of those around him. We hope you enjoy him, and the 4 other new objectives available this year!

Emo's New Moon runs until Tuesday, November 7th at noon PST. For more information, check out the How to Play / FAQ in-game!

New Tier 3 Crusader: Viktor the Vampire

Viktor the Vampire is a buffer that converts adjacent Crusaders into vampires, granting them supernatural abilities and additional effects.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't already collected them, you can unlock our Tier One Crusaders Wendy the Witch and Jack O' Lantern by completing the respective 2015 objectives. Then, you can collect the Tier Two Crusaders, Henry, The Scaredy-Ghoul, and Fright-o-tron 4000 and Development by completing the first two Tier Two objectives!

Four New Tier 3 Objectives!

  • Bloody Mess | Every time a monster is killed, it leaves a blood puddle on the ground which slowly creeps towards the formation, dealing damage to the front-most Crusaders for 25% of their max hp. Reach area 600!

  • Witching Hour | Three witches on brooms take up three slots in your formation, debuffing the DPS of adjacent Crusaders. Every 100 areas they change positions. Reach area 650!

  • Infection | Every time you enter a non-boss area, one random Crusader in your formation gets an Infection, causing them to do no DPS and disabling their Formation Abilities. Every 6 seconds, the Infection spreads. Reach area 700!

  • Full Moon | Every 50 Areas the DPS of all Crusaders is reduced by 75% (multiplicative), except for Emo Werewolf, whose DPS is increased by 25% (multiplicative). Reach area 750!

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Halloween Jeweled Chests, which you can earn from objectives or buy in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders and free play will drop all-tier chests. Gear for the Tier 2 and 3 Crusaders will only appear in all-tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusader. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop.

You'll have until Tuesday, November 7th at Noon PST to complete Emo's New Moon this year!

Teach Me How to Whack!

It's time to put your knowledge of whacking bushes to good use as you help educate the next generation! Take a trip to the Event Area of the Commons and get helping!

Help three aspiring young ones learn how to whack bushes, mana whack, and power whack! Bring the Jr. Whackers some Cardboard Swords to use, found in bushes throughout the world, and they'll share the spoils of their training with you. As you help them, they gain experience, "leveling up" and will award more items with each turn-in. Each of the determined young padawans will have a daily quest to power up the spoils from their next turn-in.

One Jr. Whacker appears to have suffered a head injury, since they are idolizing Nate. Talk to them and see what's going on.

What's a funner thing to earn than your Baking badge? Nothing of course! Help one Jr. Whacker get theirs later on in the event.

Updated Event! Sasha's Schoolhouse Scourge!

We gotta go back, back, back to school again! But it's no high school musical. It's time for classes, homework and demons as we play through the Sasha's Schoolhouse Scourge event, 2017 edition!

The teachers and students have fallen victim to possession once again, and it's up to you and your intrepid Crusaders to save the day. If you haven't recruited them yet, now is you chance to add Karen and Mr. Boggins to your roster!

Two new Tier 2 Crusaders, Willy the Weregoat and The Exchange Student will be available to recruit after you've completed all the Tier 1 objectives (you may need to wait for enough event currency to do that) and if you have the talent "Doing it Again" purchased.

The first new Crusader is Willy the Weregoat, who stamps his hooves into place as he swaps with the Princess. Don't let him near any paperwork, unless you don't want it anymore. He really likes the taste. But he'll play nice and buff your Crusaders!

New Crusader: Willy the Weregoat

At level 50, Willy the Weregoat unlocks Reciprocation, which buffs adjacent Crusaders DPS by 10% per formation ability affecting Willy. The bonus is additive.

At level 400, Willy unlocks Play Nicest, which buffs Reciprocation by 100%, which means you get a 20% bonus per buff.

The second new Tier 2 Crusader is The Exchange Student. As a new student, she's easy to free from the demonic influence and join your adventures, swapping with Thalia the Thunder King. She's shy but confident, which makes for an interesting combination.

New Crusader: The Exchange Student

Once recruited, The Exchange Student unlocks Lightning Drake at level 50, which allows you to use Storm Rider.

At level 150, The Exchange Student gets the upgrade Class President, which buffs the DPS of the Crusaders in the column behind her by 50% of your current Storm Rider buff.

Once you've recruited both Willy and The Exchange Student, there are three new side objectives to tackle in your quest.

New Objective: Class Garden

In Class Garden, Arnie has forgotten to water the cacti and now the dehydrated plants want revenge. For every 10 you kill, a raging cactus will spawn to avenge his fallen comrades, and you'll have to fight them off until you beat area 400.

New Objective: Class Pets

In Class Pets, you need to escort the class hamster, turtle and snake to area 450, while they take up spots in your formation and change positions every 50 areas.

New Objective: Class Dismissed

In Class Dismissed, school is out and so are your Crusaders. Every 50 areas an entire bench slot gets dismissed and is no longer available to use, as you head to area 500 in this objective.

Equipment for all the Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled Educational chests, but tier 2 Crusaders gear will only be unlocked once you've recruited them.

You'll have until September 26th at Noon PDT to complete the event.

Sneak Peak! Tier 4 Talents and Legendary Changes!

They've been surrounded in rumor for a while, but now we're finally ready to talk about some of the upcoming Tier 4 Talents as well as some changes to certain Legendary loot. Read on to find out more!

Tier 4 Talents

One of the most common questions about Tier 4 Talents that we've seen is what area will you have to reach to unlock them. If you'll recall, you can't buy Tier 1 talents until you reach area 150. Tier 2 require 300, and Tier 3 require 600. Tier 4 Talents will continue the climb and require that you reach area 900 in any campaign before you can buy them. They will also cost a ridiculous amount of idols.

To give you a taste for the power invested in these new talents, we've going to highlight one of the new talents from each tree in this teaser blog. Are you ready?

Active Tree: Instant Satisfaction

This talent allows you to use your active abilities in rapid succession - if you're lucky! Why use Fire Storm once when twice is double as good? Maxing out the 21 levels in this talent to get a 50% chance will cost you just shy of 10,000,000 idols.

Passive Tree: Idols Over Time

The more time you take on a run, the more Idols you will earn. The bonus stacks additively and is progressive, so if you've got it maxed out at 50% for every 2 hours, you'll get 100% more idols after just four hours, 125% after five hours, and a massive 600% more after a day of idling. Great for overnight free plays or adding value to long challenging objectives! Maxing out this talent will cost you a cool 8,400,000 idols.

Utility Tree: Sprint Mode

What is Sprint Mode? Sprint mode allows you to skip between boss areas extremely quickly, assuming you can finish off the boss fast enough! If you defeat the boss and his minions within seven seconds of entering the area, you'll skip ahead five areas directly into the next boss area. This ability is only active in free play, but is definitely the creme de la creme of the new talents. Consider taking only 10 or 15 minutes to reach area 500 on your free plays? The idols will really start to pour in now. This power won't come cheap, though. Unlocking Sprint Mode up to area 500 will cost you more than 25,000,000 idols.

These new changes should allow players to reach new heights and earn idols even faster than ever before. While there is no tier 4 objective talent in this initial release, it is planned for a future update, meaning there will eventually be a whole slew of incredibly challenging objectives available for our most dedicated and voracious players.

Other Changes

We're also making some changes to the effects of several Legendary items - mainly items that increased the effects of existing formation abilities or stacked in unintended and overly powerful ways. These items will now instead provide an additive stacking buff. A full list of affected items will be released in the change log of the update.

But what if you've invested a lot of crafting material and catalysts in these items and don't find the new items to be powerful enough for your tastes? Well, we've taken care of that. You will now be able to disenchant (DE) Legendary items to recover the materials spent on them. Each DE'd legendary will return enough Common material to level them up to whatever level they were, as well as credit a free legendary craft. Free Legendary crafts do not require any catalysts, and are used automatically when you craft your next Legendary item(s).

We've also listened to players who were unhappy that Golden Legendary items used the normal Legendary name and icon, rather than special animated icons. In this update we'll make a change to all Golden Legendaries so that they use the same icon and name as the Golden Epic items that they upgrade from.

Wrapping Up

This update will also refresh players' free Talent respecs back to three. We're hoping to get this update out in the next little while, so stay tuned to the in-game news and change log over the coming weeks! Happy idling, Crusaders!

Spine of the World Quest Hub!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Hi Whackers!

Remember that stone idol in your quest bar? Well, the Explorer's League is finally ready to do something with it! If you have the Ancient Stone Artifact from the Cliffs of Korak, then speak to Expedition Leader Magellan in the Explorer's Camp to get started!

This update includes over 50 new story quests, relating to the mysterious society the idol belongs to. Set your brain to the task and start the adventure!

The Town Crier will let you know when enough time has passed that you can journey to the Explorer's Camp and pick up the continuing story quests. As you finish the story parts, you'll unlock new daily quests to do!

Choose carefully though, because once you've started an Explorer's hub daily quest, you won't be able to do any Sanctuary or Cloudland daily quests for the next 20 hours.

Completing the Daily Quests will award you Spine Expedition Coins, which can be used to buy a plethora of exciting custom items and treats from the Ye Extraordinary Explorer's Emporium once you've unlocked the store.

Chat about the update on the forums!
