COTLI: Gardeners of the Galaxy Vol. 3

An unrelenting, enormous cosmic plant is slowly consuming the cosmos. Twice before you've faced this foe and (seemingly) won. Perhaps all you really needed was the right wrestler to step into the ring...

Gardeners of the Galaxy Vol. 3 runs until Tuesday, June 5th at 12:00pm PDT. For more information, check out the How to Play / FAQ in-game! I am Broot.

New Tier 3 Crusader: Rex the Wrestler

He's big, he's buff, he's shirtless and purple-skinned: Rex the Wrestler has joined Crusaders of the Lost Idols! Rex is a male support Crusader who takes trophies from slain enemies, occasionally selling them on the black market to enable buffs for the party. And did we mention the body paint? Also we're pretty sure he's invisible.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock our Tier One Crusaders Broot and Robbie Raccoon by completing the respective Tier One objectives. I am Broot. Then, you can collect the Tier Two Crusaders, Spaceking and Grandmora, by completing the first two Tier Two objectives!

Five New Tier 3 Objectives!

  • Recruit Rex the Wrestler | Rex the Wrestler takes up a slot in the formation. He moves around every 25 areas and buffs global DPS by 100% for each Champion from the Gardeners of the Galaxy event in the formation. Reach area 500.

  • Just Plain Crazy | Only those Crusaders with a penchant for insanity can be used: Hermit, Princess, Khouri, Merci, Nate, Pete, Momma Kaine, Kyle, Metal Soldierette, Broot, Robbie, Ilsa, Mindy, Cindy, Squiggles, Spaceking, Grandmora, Thoonoose, and of course, Rex. Reach area 600.

  • Mix Tape | Enemy Cassette Tapes attack the formation, each "playing" a different song debuff. Debuffs last until the cassette is killed. All cassettes survive for at least 1 second. Reach area 650.

  • Potted Garden | Three slots in the formation are taken up by potted plants, each one debuffing you in some way. Reach area 700.

  • Bug Out | Bug enemies spawn randomly, and each time one is killed, it reduces the DPS of a random Crusader by 50% for 60 seconds and creates a glowing purple cloud over them. This effect stacks additively if it the same Crusader is chosen multiple times. Reach area 750.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Gardeners Jeweled Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop. I am Broot. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop all-tier chests. I am Broot. Gear for the Tier 2 and 3 Crusaders will only appear in all-tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusader. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop.

You'll have until Tuesday, June 5th at 12:00pm PDT to complete Gardeners of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

Idle Champions Event: The Great Modron March
Posted in Idle Champions.

Several times each century the clockwork plane of Mechanus mobilizes a vast wave of modrons and sends them on a tour of the cosmos. Known as The Great Modron March, this unstoppable tide of lawful constructs journeys across the material plane on the exact same route each time. However, this time something has changed — the modrons are marching on Waterdeep.

The Great Modron March starts today on Steam and Tablet for Android, runs until Monday, June 4th at 12:00pm PDT, and introduces Evelyn Marthain, the Human Paladin of Lathander!

Note: Apple iOS users will have to be patient with us as we work with Apple to make The Great Modron March available for iPad players as soon as possible.

New Champion: Evelyn Marthain

Caring, motherly, and endlessly optimistic, Evelyn has adventured across the realms as part of the Waffle Crew with Strix, Diath, and Paultin for many years. She's always first in battle, thanks to her flying boots, and will always take a hit to protect others. Short, yet tough, her devotion to Lathander has seen her through many perilous situations.

When you want to add Evelyn to your party, you can swap her with Asharra or Krond.

The Great Modron March Variants

  • The Neverending March — Every time a Modron is killed in non-boss areas it shuts down for five seconds and then comes back to life with full health.

  • (Hu)man vs. Machine — All human Champions get a buff called "The Human Spirit" which increases their damage by 5% in each area (stacking multiplicatively).

  • Charge Into Battle — Enemies move extremely fast and deal massive damage to everyone except Evelyn. Evelyn starts the adventure at level 1 and in the front slot of the formation.

Features:

  • Added The Great Modron March event, our twelfth limited-time campaign event! The event will run on Steam and Tablet for Android until Monday, June 4th at 12:00pm PDT.
  • Added a new Champion: Evelyn Marthain, the Human Paladin of Lathander.
  • Added a new event Divine Favor: Gond's Favor.

See the in-game Change Log for more information!

BW2: Change Log May 18, 2018
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Quality of Life and Fixes Update! (May 18th, 2018)

- Quest Hubs now have their own Area Progress dialogs, and their completion is tracked on the world map.

- Added tooltips to completed quests/items/achievements on the Area Progress dialog that shows their name.

- Added the “Sonic Excavating Yard Stick” trinket to the Glaucous Quarries artifact store, which when equipped draws circles around your last 3 digs in a quarry, indicating the max possible range the treasure might be from that spot. Makes digging much easier!

- Fixed an issue with leaving the new quarry area when you have a particle emitting (flowers, etc.) custom item equipped. (Which means you’d see a “Loading Graphics... “ popup that never went away when trying to leave the quarry until you reloaded the game.)

- Added a diggergy bar toggle button, visible when you’ve got a Geo-Pick trinket equipped, that lets you show/hide the diggergy bar when you’re not in a quarry or picking up diggergy.

- Moved a normal banana by the Old Bazaar field in Cera Altepetl Proper so that it’s away from the whacking buttons.

- Fixed store item costs getting covered up if the amount was greater than 4 or 5 digits long (depending on the icon).

- Store item cost tooltips now show amount as well as name.

- Added 4 more trivia questions to the Amicus Isle Trivia Time quest (April 13th):
- “What activity can you do on Amicus Isle during the Patriot Event?”
- "On what major continent is the Snowy Mountain region?"
- "What organization did the Black Hole pet raise money for?"
- "What is the name of the Commons’ resident trinketeer?"

- Added music to the tropical island zones.

- Added the “Shiny” effect to Hellvin NPC since his player counterpart has acquired the Flux Tier 10 Super Trinket. Thanks for all the reports, Hellvin!

- Fixed various reported typos and quest descriptions. Keep the reports coming!

  • Variant: Home Field Advantage — Yuan-ti enemies power up each second they are alive.

New 2018 Pet Packs (Coming Soon!)

Post your green thumb adventures and questions on the forum!

The event will run until Friday May 25th at Noon PDT!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I find the seeds?
Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.

  • How do I grow plants?
There are the planters outside the garden to grow flowers in. If you click on them, you can see the plant store. Each plant has a different cost and grow time to get you your event progress points. You start with 4 free planters.

  • Is it good to buy extra planters for growing the plants?
If you have the seeds to spare and prefer to plant long-growing plants, then yes, it’s worth it.

  • How do I get the Decorator achievement?
If you go into the gardening area, the store button ($) has a selection of garden decorating items, where you can find the planter styles and watering can. These items also cost seeds.

  • What are the possible seed combinations for Farmer MacDonald’s quest?
You can choose seeds that grow either Energy or Gold, and then choose between 20, 15, 4, and 3 hours of growth time.

  • Why do my custom seeds cost Gold to plant?
You created the combination, which is unlocked until they expire. Just like normal plants, they cost Gold for planting. We don't award a flat number of seeds, because not all players have the same amount of farm plots. This way, you get to choose how many you end up growing. :)
  • Why don’t my custom seeds last longer?
Because they're OP! Enjoy them while they last. :)

  • How do I please the judges?
Just keep growing plants. As your event progress increases, you will impress the judges more and more. You DO NOT need to place them in your garden if you don't wish to. The plants still count for progress.

  • Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the judges?
No, judges do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.

  • What adds to my event progress?
Growing plants worth points and completing the side quests. To get the points from your plants, you don't even need to place them in your garden! Just grow them!

  • Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

  • Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.
