Haunted Mansion Photo Contest in BW2 2015
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Hi Whackers!

The Haunted Mansion Photo Contest is now live!

Get your scare on and decorate up your Haunted Mansion! It's super easy! Just whack bushes for Pumpkins and buy decorations to make your mansion look super gruesome! Once you've achieved at least 250 Scariness, you can enter your house in the contest!

How the Contest Works

When you're ready, talk to the photographer standing next to the House (he's got a yellow ! above his head) and have him take a picture of your creepy layout. You can submit as many times as you would like, but each time you take a new picture, any prior votes are lost and you start over again so plan carefully!

Submissions will be accepted until *Friday, November 6th, 2015, - Noon PST*, coinciding with the end of the event.

YOU get to vote too!

The coveted "User's Choice" award is picked by the Bush Whacker Community, and has a prize of 50 bush bucks! You can vote for as many submissions as you like, and at the end of the event the top submission as voted by YOU the players will be awarded the prize.

Notes about the voting system:
  • Visiting the contest page simply loads the contest/voting page over top of the game! Finished voting? You can easily return to the event area by clicking "Back to Game" at the bottom of the screen. Easy as (pumpkin) pie!
  • Can't decide between two layouts? You can say "Next Please," and two new images will be loaded up for you!
Voting is open until *Monday, November 9th, 2015 @ Noon PST*

And the CNE Winners are...

Once the submissions are closed at the end of the event, the entire Codename Entertainment studio will review the submissions and choose their favourites for each platform; 3 lucky players from Addicting Games, Armor Games, Big Fish Games, Games.com, Facebook and Kongregate will all be awarded prizes of 250, 200, and 150 bush bucks. We'll post also post *all* the winners on the Codename Bush Blog!

The CNE winners will be announced the week of November 9th in the in-game news and on the Bush Blog!

Good luck everyone!

Get Your Scare On in Bush Whacker 2

Hallowe'en is Coming to Bushwhackia!

Who doesn't love a good haunted mansion? Well, that's what Hallowe'en in Bushwhackia is all about! But to decorate your very own, you need to do what you do best! Go out into the world and whack bushes to find Pumpkins. Once you have found a patch of pumpkins, you can buy decorations from Glenda outside the mansion, or from the "Store" button while you're in Build Mode inside. Once you feel you've got enough, start laying out your design inside. (You can also purchase the same decorations for Bush Bucks from the Cop in the event area.)

You do not have to place all your collected decorations on display in the Mansion in order for them to count towards "Hallowe'en Completionist," they will count so long as they are within your inventory!

The goal is to scare the pants off the 8 children standing in front of the house, all of varying levels of bravery. The more you scare them, the more candy you'll earn in return. And you're going to want that candy so you can trade it for items at the event store! You can try scaring them every 20 hours after you scared them the first time.

Glenda the Good Witch just isn't for buying decorations with Pumpkins though. You'll be getting several quests from her throughout the event for special interactive decorations. You will need all four to complete the "Hallowe'en Completionist" achievement. As you complete each of her four quests, you can request help from your friends* by talking to the Construction Worker to increase the decoration's scariness.

*Platforms which do not support Friend Lists will have an adjusted static scariness.

The Haunted Mansion Photo Contest will be starting soon!

Gotta Collect them all!

What can possibly make your house scarier? How about some Creatures which wander around your mansion! Each creature will become available which you can then request from friends* by talking to the the Cop. You'll need one of each creature to complete the "Hallowe'en Completionist" achievement; if you miss a creature, you can still purchase one from the Cop for Bush Bucks.

Creatures are available on the following schedule:
Black Cats - AVAILABLE at Event launch, UNTIL Sun Oct 25, 11:59:59 AM PDT
Witches - AVAILABLE Sun Oct 25, Noon PDT UNTIL Tues Oct 27, 11:59:59 AM PDT
Zombies - AVAILABLE Tues Oct 27, Noon PDT UNTIL Thurs Oct 29, 11:59:59 AM PDT
Bats - AVAILABLE Thurs Oct 29, Noon PDT UNTIL Sat Oct 31, 11:59:59 AM PDT
Spiders - AVAILABLE Sat Oct 31, Noon PDT UNTIL Mon Nov 2, 11:59:59 AM PST
Vampires - AVAILABLE Mon Nov 2, Noon PST UNTIL Wed Nov 4, 11:59:59 AM PST
Franken-Dogs - AVAILABLE Wed Nov 4, Noon PST UNTIL Event End

*Platforms which do not support Friends Lists can receive a single creature for free as they become available, by speaking to the Cop.

Candy! Candy! Candy!

To buy the custom items, you need your Candy! Not only do you get it from scaring those insolent little kiddies, you also net some from completing the various quests given to you by the Halloween NPCs hanging out in the event area!

Plus from October 31st until the end of the event, you can hunt down denizens of Bushwhackia and Trick-or-Treat with them for Candy goodness! There will be a spooky character standing in front of a pile of Candy in each of the major areas! So 1 in the Mysterious Forest, 1 in the Shady Detour, etc. NPCs have been added up to Cloudland!

New for 2015:
We've added a new quest to the event which will generate a random Daily quest available until the end of the event!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I find the Pumpkins?
Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.

  • How do I decorate my Mansion?
You need to whack up Pumpkins. You can buy decorations from Glenda in the event area, or from the Store when you're in Build mode inside the Mansion. Once you have decorations, you can place them like you're decorating your ranch using Build mode.

  • How do I get the Hallowe'en Completionist achievement?
You need to buy each of the decorations available for Pumpkins, as well as make all 4 decorations that Glenda offers you along with getting at least 1 of each of the Creatures the Cop will let you request from your friends. You don't have to place them in your mansion though.

  • How do I scare the Kids?
Just keep buying decorations and getting friends to up the scare level of your interactive decorations. As your event progress increases, you will scare the kids more and more.

  • Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the Kids?
No, the kids do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.

  • What adds to my event progress?
Making your mansion as scary as possible by buying decorations (but you don't have to place them all.)

  • Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

  • Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

New Halloween Event!

Halloween comes early this year with our second limited time event. If you've ever wondered why Emo Werewolf is so emo, you'll have the chance to learn the legend first-hand.

You'll discover the shaggy Crusader's tortured past that includes lost love and a feud with a dead rival. And it's all set against the backdrop of teenage angst, at a high school.

Starting today and running until November 4th, the Halloween event campaign features four new objectives and two brand new Crusaders. Once you've convinced them to join your party by completing their respective objectives, you'll be able to include them in your formation.

"liek dis if u cry evry tim"

To enter the event, you must collect candies dropped by monsters when you destroy them in any objective. The first of the Halloween objectives costs 100 candies as the price of entry. Once you've saved up some candy, use Nate Dragon's "Reset the World" ability to view the event objectives.

Wendy the Witch is the first new Crusader you'll unlock. She draws power from her enemies and deals more damage the more monsters there are on the screen. Once she's on your side, she can be swapped with Prince Sal, the Merman. The second new Crusader is Jack O'Lantern, a tank that pairs well with Jason, Master of Shadows to bust down boss levels and tank up a storm. Each monster attacking him, trying to knock out his bonus health, will add a 10% DPS boost to your whole formation! He can be swapped in for Natalie Dragon.

"My enemies think to overwhelm me; they only make me more powerful"

However, it's not going to be that easy! When attempting to rescue the witch, she'll debuff the DPS of every Crusader adjacent to her for every extra monster on screen. Jack O'Lantern will make the two columns in front of him take more damage until you've recruited him to your side.

"Not so gooey after all"

One additional change we've made is to make those surplus Event Tickets more useful. If you manage to stockpile an extra 15,000 candies you can trade them for a Jeweled Halloween Chest! As a reminder, these special chests contain the exclusive gear for the two new Crusaders once you have added them to your roster.

However, take note: You can only trade surplus candies for Halloween Event Chests while the event is running (but you can continue to buy the Jeweled Halloween Chests two days after the Halloween event has finished).

Break out the holy water and stakes, dig out the pumpkin carver and silver bullets, Crusaders. You'll need to this Halloween.

The event will run until Wednesday November 4th at Noon PDT.

In the celebration of one of the classic time travel movies, we've added a mini-quest in the Commons. Talk to the wild-eyed man in front of the Town Hall to go on an adventure of futuristic proportions! Can you put things back to right before it's too late?

The quest will end on Saturday, October 24th at Noon PDT!

Trick or Treat with Egg Breaker Adventures

Braaaains! Braaaains! Caaaaandy!

The Zombie monkey is back for some Hallowe'en mischief on the Egg Breaker Adventure Islands! Help him collect his food of choice, Candy!

General Event details:

- Find Hallowe'en Candy in eggs in the Zombie Monkey's special stages to fill Candy bags to advance between the bronze, silver and gold levels.
You'll need to fill…
…6 Bags of Candy to advance from Bronze stage to Silver stage,
…6 Bags of Candy to advance from Silver stage to Gold stage,
…12 Bags of Candy at the Gold stage, as well as having won all 12 prizes to earn the Hallowe'en Event Trophy!.

How the Event works:

The daily permanent multiplier buff is back! Here's the low-down on how the buff works:
  • The daily upgradable multiplier buff which increases each time you feed the Zombie Monkey Hallowe'en Event Tokens, up to a buff of 8x:
    • Feed the monkey once, increase the buff to 2x,
    • Feed the monkey twice, increase the buff to 4x,
    • Feed the monkey three times, the buff increases to 8x - additional feedings past this will not increase the multiplier any further, it will remain capped at 8x
    • If you merely activate the monkey, but do not feed him, the buff will not increase. You must feed the Zombie Monkey for the buff to increase.
  • The permanent Base x2 buff only applies to Candy wins.
    • The graphic for the buff itself will not change, by placing your cursor over the buff icon on the right side of the breaking screen, you can see your buff has leveled up to.
    • All normal buffs are available.
  • The base multiplier will reset every day at Midnight Pacific Time.

New Objectives!

Following hot on the heels of our Steam launch and welcoming all those gamers into the Crusaders' community, we have three new objectives for everyone to play.

Demolition Derby tasks the Crusaders in the Descent into Darkness campaign with protecting three very 'volatile' characters. A trio of demolition experts occupy the middle three slots of the diamond formation. Each is carrying a bomb that has to be delivered to area 250 safely to earn 250 rubies. If your Crusaders fail their mission to protect them... Boom! Your formation will wipe, and you'll get knocked back an area.

Demotion Derby

The Ghostbeard's Greed campaign has two new objectives that introduce a fun twist. Guys Night Out is an objective where players can only use male Crusaders. The female and animal Crusaders have decided to have a night off, leaving you the conundrum of organizing your formation using only the guys to reach

Of course, the female and animal Crusaders don't want to miss out on the action. In Beauties and the Beasts, you can only choose from the female and animal Crusaders for the same box formation as Guys Night Out. It's going to require some careful formation planning for both objectives to secure those precious rubies.

Good luck!

Generation 5 Pets Are Here!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Get ready to be overrun with selection and cuteness! New Generation 5 pets are now available!

Those weirdly random abandoned eggs scattered all over Bushwachkia have been switched up and all new pets are ready to hatch when you accept the "Find an Egg" quest from Misty. She will also have all the Generation 5 eggs available to purchase for Bush Bucks during the "Find an Egg" quest.

Other changes to Misty and Hank for Generation 5:
  • Misty will no longer let players abandon Gen 4 pet eggs that they are hatching (they're now too rare). Only current generation pet eggs can be abandoned during hatching. Please note that if you're in the middle of hatching a pet, then that egg will still hatch into whatever pet it would have been before.

  • Generation 4 pet eggs can now be found in Quester's Satchels (with the same limitations as the Generation 1, 2 and 3 eggs, which will still be available in satchels as well). Generation 4 pet eggs are now more expensive to buy with DNA in the PAGAS store.

  • Hank now sells a random assortment of Generation 5 pets (instead of Generation 4) for Bush Bucks.

PAGAS changes for Generation 5:
  • Generation 5 pet eggs are now available to buy with DNA in the PAGAS store, however you cannot buy any of them until you have at least five (5) Generation 5 pets.

  • The Pet Progress dialog now includes Generation 5 pets. 10 new pets that all players can unlock!

And now, without further ado, the information you've all been waiting for:
Generation 5 Pets:
  • Bat
  • Fox
  • Gazelle
  • Gerbil
  • Jaguar
  • Moth
  • Platypus
  • Snowy Owl
  • Wasp
  • Zebra
