New Champion: Tess  
Posted in Idle Champions.

    Tess grew up in a small village where she wreaked havoc as an amateur thief (she stole to see if she could, not because she wanted to keep the items - mostly), before her parents sent her to be trained by an aging halfling rogue named Mel. Under Mel’s mentorship, Tess became a professional infiltrator, using her skills for good. Now she’s formed her own adventuring party and is actively molding them into the heroes she knows they can be.
Tess is a Support Champion who leads by example, buffing the damage of all Champions behind her. This expert in traps has a plan for everything, increasing your formation's damage if she is given companions with a diverse set of roles. Tess can always be found with the Fallbacks' Otyugh companion Uggie nearby.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Hand Crossbow (ranged) - Tess attacks the closest enemy for 1 hit.

Passive Abilities

  • Uggie! - Uggie joins the party, starting next to Tess unless they're already in the formation next to another Fallbacks Champion. Uggie increases the damage of all non-adjacent Champions by 100%.

Formation Abilities

  • Lead The Way - Tess increases the damage of all Champions in the columns behind her by 400%.
  • Unleash Uggie - Uggie's buff is increased by 400% when Tess is in the formation
  • Snack Attack - When Uggie is with Tess, Uggie attacks a random target whenever Tess attacks or disarms a trap. Uggie's attack deals 5 seconds of BUD-based damage.
  • A Plan For Everything - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 400% for each different role in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Trap Expert - There's a 5% chance when an enemy dies that they drop a Trap that Tess immediately spots. During Tess's next attack, rather than attacking, she leaps out and disarms the Trap before it can harm any of her friends. For each Trap disarmed in this way, Lead The Way is increased by 25%, stacking additively. Stacks persist through resets.

  • The Fallback Plan - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 150% for each unaffiliated Champion or Fallbacks Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Eyes on the Horizon - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 200% for each Champion in the formation with a ranged attack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Rogues' Gallery - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 250% for each Rogue Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Idle Champions: Great Modron March 8  
Posted in Idle Champions.

Several times each century, the clockwork plane of Mechanus mobilizes a vast wave of modrons and sends them on a tour of the cosmos. Known as "The Great Modron March", this unstoppable tide of lawful constructs journeys across the material plane on the exact same route each time. However, this time something has changed -- the modrons are marching on Waterdeep.

The Great Modron March returns once again, and while the many constructs of Mechanus march upon Waterdeep, the latest new Champion arrives: Vlithryn, Cleric of Persana!

Keen eyes may recognize Vlithryn - and her banshee-like scream - from the web series 1 For All, where she is played by the amazing Soylent Cosplay. Vlithryn is the first Featured Champion for Great Modron March this year.

The second Featured Champion for Great Modron March 8, Yorven Springpaw, arrives next week on May 14. Players will be able to learn all about Yorven's changes in the Yorven Champion Update blog on Friday, May 9th.

Vlithryn

Ever since she was a hatchling in her kingdom under the sea, Vlithryn has dreamt of helping the less fortunate land dwellers and spreading the good word of her God, Persana. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand, or a healing word, to those who need it, for the right price, of course. She is usually cool, calm, and collected, but don’t get on her bad side, or her banshee scream and lightning attacks will leave you begging for a revivify that you can’t afford.

Yorven

  • Boon XP: The Boon system has been reworked in this event! Eligible items purchased with Platinum now grant Boon XP, which unlocks Boon Levels. The Boon Level cap has also been removed.

  • Extra Benefits: When the event ends, you'll earn Scales of Tiamat based on what you completed within the event. You'll get 250 Scales for every event variant of tier 2 or above that you have completed, and 250 Scales for each Boon XP you've obtained. Scales of Tiamat are used in the Legendary Forge to craft Legendary Equipment.

  • Free Rerolls: You gain five free rerolls to use on each set of your Weekly Offers during this event!

Boon XP & Boon Level Changes

As always, your feedback is incredibly important to us. Since announcing the return of Boon XP as an Augment last week, we've heard concerns that your platinum does not go as far when this augment is active compared to the standard boon system. We'd like to provide some additional clarity to show the increased rewards between the Boon XP Augment and the standard boon system.

Our intent for the Boon XP Augment is to amp up the rewards for players who choose to purchase items that grant event boons. While the pricing of each boon level differs from the standard system, the rewards are greatly increased. This ultimately yields a substantial overall increase in the power of the buffs players gain for each platinum they spend on event packs. Here is a comparison of boon levels in the standard system vs the Boon XP Augment.

Vlithryn is a Support, Healing, and Control Champion who came to the surface world to help the unfortunate land dwellers. This devout follower of the deity Persana boosts the damage of Champions in front of her, heals the most injured ally every second, and can revive fallen Champions in moments of dire need.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Blessed Mace (melee) - Vlithryn attacks a random enemy, dealing 1 hit and knocking them back a short distance.

Formation Abilities

  • Justice of the Depths - Vlithryn increases the damage of all Champions in the columns in front of her by 400%.
  • Cleric Clinic - Every second, Vlithryn heals the 3 most damaged Champion for 20 health. This amount is increased by 25% for each Tanking Champion in the formation.
  • Pantheon of Blessings - Vlithryn increases the effect of Justice of the Depths by 10% for each Global Tier Blessing you have unlocked, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Revivify - When a Champion is defeated, Vlithryn consumes a Revivify charge and screams in frustration, pushing back all enemies a short distance. She then casts Revivify and heals the defeated Champion, bringing them back to life at full health. Vlithryn's Revivify charges are equal to the number of Awful Ones in the formation and reset upon changing areas. The effect of Justice of the Depths is increased by 400% for each Revivify charge used in the current area, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Divine Intervention - Vlithryn gains one Dire Straits stack every time she effectively heals a Champion with Cleric Clinic. When she reaches 30 stacks, Persana appears and blesses her with the following:

    - Revivify immediately gains an additional charge
    - Justice of the Depths is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking multiplicatively
    - The healing amount of Cleric Clinic is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking additively.

    Dire Straits stacks continue to increase after Persana appears, up to a maximum of 100. Upon changing areas, Vlithryn loses up to 25 Dire Strait stacks, and if her stacks drop below 30, Persana disappears, taking his blessings with him.

  • Who Else Would Save Them? - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 200% for every Champion in the formation with an INT score of 12 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Help the Unfortunate - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Spreading the Word - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each unique Species in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Today we have introduced a brand new system to Idle Champions: the Apothecary.

The Apothecary allows players to Distill, Enhance, and Brew potions to create the types of potions they want, including a new tier of potions: Legendary Potions!

Welcome to the Apothecary

The new Apothecary system is accessed from the Potion inventory screen and from the Potion Manager. From here you can:
  • Distill existing potions into Potion Reagents and Legendary Vessels. The amount of Potion Reagents gained is based on the rarity of potions.



  • Enhance existing potions to higher rarities, using Potion Reagents and Legendary Vessels.



  • Brew new potions of your choice, using Potion Reagents and Legendary Vessels.



Legendary Potions

Note: Last week we updated the title of the existing Legendary Potions that you can collect when dismantling a legendary piece of equipment to Legendary Equipment Potions. Those potions are different from the Legendary potions we're introducing today.

Legendary Potions are a new type of potion crafted exclusively through the Apothecary using Potion Reagents and Legendary Vessels:
  • Legendary Potions require 1 Legendary Vessel and 1,440 Potion Reagents to craft from scratch.
  • Legendary Potions have larger base effects than Epic Potions but also increase the effect of all active potions by 15%, stacking multiplicatively.
    • The global speed cap remains in place, however, the Legendary Speed Potion has an additional effect: Game Speed Cap +5% per Speed Potion active, stacking additively.
    • With five Legendary Potions active, all Potions effects are roughly doubled.
  • Legendary Potions last for 24 hours and persist through adventure resets. Using additional Legendary Potions adds to the duration.

Variant: Friend of Nature

Every night, zombies are attacking a nature-loving village
  • In addition to the core 12 Champions, you may only use Ranger, Druid, and/or Barbarian Champions.
  • Friendly animals take up slots in your formation. You start out with one slot taken up by a friendly animal, then every 50 areas a new animal joins your team, until there are 6 animals.
  • Complete Area 200

Unearthed Evil

Variant: Waves of Evil

A local mine needs some evil help to solve an evil goblin problem
  • In addition to the core 12 Champions, you may only use Evil Champions.
  • All monsters emanate waves of shadowy evil upon spawning and every 5 seconds after that. Each wave deals 10% max health damage against a random Champion.
  • Complete Area 200

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

Variant: Cryophilic Combatants

Search the city for more Arcane Octad clues while fighting back enemies that thrive in the cold.
  • You may only use Champions that are 75 years old or more.
  • 1-2 White Abishai spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Whenever a Champion takes damage, their base attack cooldown is increased by 0.5 seconds until the area changes, stacking additively.
  • Complete Area 675

Cold as Ice

Variant: Pay the Price

Continue to hunt for the clues of the Rite of the Arcane Octad with Champions who are not foreign to the ways of wealth.
  • You may only use Champions with the gold find role.
  • 1-2 Mezzoloth mercenaries spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Other enemies drop 99.99% less gold.
  • Complete Area 700

Friends and Foes

Variant: Fiendishly Fierce

As the factions within Ythryn close in around the Champions, they definitely learn who is in it for themselves.
  • You may only use Drow Champions.
  • 1-2 Spined Devils spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • You may not remove Champions from the formation. (They can be moved as normal.)
  • Non-boss area requirements are reduced by 5% for each empty formation slot, stacking additively.
  • Complete Area 725

The Spire of Iriolarthas

Variant: Class Clown

Gain the final clue to enter the Spire of Iriolarthas while fighting space clowns.
  • You may only use Chaotic Champions.
  • Champion damage is reduced by 99% for each Champion in the formation that is not a Bard, stacking multiplicatively.
  • 1-2 ranged Space Clowns attack with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Complete Area 750

The Fall of Ythryn

Variant: Xerophon's Ythryn Zenith

Destroy the Ythryn Mythalar with Xerophon!
  • Xerophon starts in the formation with their ultimate unlocked. They can be moved but not removed.
  • After area 10, Champions can only deal damage while Xerophon is imitating an enemy with their Perfect Imitation ultimate attack.
  • Champions can't be removed from the formation once they have been added.
  • Every 50 areas, a random Champion that matches the highest number of Xerophon's specialization choices is removed from the formation and can not be used again in the adventure. In the case of a tie, a random tied Champion is picked. If you have not chosen any spec choices for Xerophon, a random Champion is picked. Xerophon themself is never removed.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 775
    • Additional Rewards:
      • 5 Modron chests
      • New Feat for Xerophon: Guardian of Icewind Dale: Xerophon may be used in any Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure or variant when a patron is enabled, even if the patron or variant restrictions would normally restrict them.
      • 1,250 Corrupted Gems.

Item Level QoL Updates

We've been working on additional quality of life improvements when it comes to the visibility of item levels in Idle Champions, arriving with today's update!

Tracking your progress through item level increases has become much more important over the lifetime of Idle Champions, and now it will be easier than ever!

Players will be able to see item levels more prominently on equipment cards, increases to item levels while opening chests, more details in Champion Profiles, and more. Idle Champions: Feast of the Moon 8

    The party descends into an infamous crypt filled with the tombs of local heroes to pay homage to their deeds during the Feast of the Moon. Unfortunately, the dead are restless, rising from their slumber as undead and gathering deep in the crypt for some unknown nefarious purpose...

    Fight your way through the risen heroes of yore as your party descends into the dark depths of The Crypt of Legends. Seek out whatever is responsible for this undead uprising, and put an end to it for good!

Feast of the Moon is here with another Absolute Adversary: Minthara Baenre! This former Lolth-Sworn Drow Paladin was sent from Menzoberranzan to investigate the Cult of the Absolute, only to end up becoming a True Soul of the Absolute herself.

    Minthara, once a House Matron from the esteemed House Baenre in Menzoberranzan, was cast aside by the Absolute after failing to recover a powerful and mysterious artifact. Having broken free from the Absolute's control, she now harbors an intense hatred for her former master. Fueled by vengeance and a desire to reclaim her lost honor, Minthara channels her dark powers and cunning to oppose the Absolute and any who stand in her way.



Minthara Baenre is a Support, Debuff, and Tanking Champion who excels in formations with other Evil Champions. She provides resilience to other Champions and amplifies damage dealt to enemies. For details on this Nightwarden of House Baenre, read on!

Sgt. Knox

    The imposing presence of Sergeant Knox came to Neverwinter when the Mintarn mercenaries were hired to retake the city following the eruption of Mount Hotenow. Soon he became a daily presence and mentor for new Adventurers in the city. Celeste reached out to her old friend following the catastrophic events at Elturel, hoping the veteran mercenary would join the Champions as they face the greatest foe the Sword Coast has ever seen!

  • Boon Enhancements: The power of most Event Boon buffs is increased by up to eight times!
  • Empowered Rewards: Tier 2 and higher event variants award Corrupted Gems in addition to their normal rewards!
  • Worth The Wait: Rebalanced Champion Sgt. Knox releases at the start of week two of this event. Completing his tier 2+ variants awards double chests!

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Double Maces (melee) - Minthara dashes toward the healthiest enemy and damages nearby foes with a swing of her maces.

Formation Abilities

  • Noble of Menzoberranzan - Minthara gains a Strife stack for each Evil Champion in the formation, including herself. Minthara increases the damage of these Champions by 100% for each Strife stack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Soul Branding - When Minthara damages an enemy, they take 100% additional damage from all subsequent attacks, stacking multiplicatively up to the number of Strife stacks Minthara has.
  • Oath of Vengeance - Minthara provides benefits based on the number of Strife stacks she has.
    3+ Strife stacks: Unyielding: Minthara increases her health by 10% for each Strife stack she has, stacking additively.
    5+ Strife stacks: Piercing: Enemies affected by at least two Soul Branding stacks lose an additional armor or segmented health piece when they are attacked.
    7+ Strife stacks: Scarring: When Minthara damages an enemy, she immediately applies the maximum possible number of Soul Branding stacks.
    9+ Strife stacks: Nobility: Increases the base value of Noble of Menzoberranzan by 400%.
  • Ceremorphosis - Your formation gains one Ceremorphosis stack due to the mind flayer tadpole in Minthara's brain. Minthara increases the health of all other Champions by 20% of her max health, plus 2% for each Ceremorphosis stack the formation has, stacking additively.

  • House Matron - Noble of Menzoberranzan now also grants Strife stacks for Neutral Champions in the formation (on the Good/Evil axis).
  • True Soul - Your formation gains 2 additional Ceremorphosis stacks.
  • Soul Destroyer - The maximum number of Soul Branding stacks is doubled.

Ultimate Ability

  • Spider's Lyre (melee) - Minthara summons Kar'niss the Drider to attack all enemies. In a non-boss area, the Champions advance to the next area if no enemies remain after the attack.

Idle Champions: October 30th Adventure Variants

Time to dial things up to 15!

Today's update brings 15 spooky new Adventure Variants (and some special rewards) to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms across six campaigns, including Grand Tour of the Sword Coast, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Spelljammer: Light of Xaryxis, and Turn of Fortune's Wheel.

Each of these campaigns will be receiving two new Adventure Variants, with Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus receiving five(!) new Adventure Variants including the capstone variant which has bonus rewards!

A Grand Tour of the Sword Coast

The Sanctum of the Sword

Variant: Find a Wooden Stake

Fight your way across Tovag to recover the Sword of Kas as vampires try to stop you!
  • Only Champions with Melee base attacks can deal damage.
  • 1-2 Vampires spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.

Get Back In The Castle

Variant: Kas the Betrayer

Reclaim the Hand of Vecna and impress Kas enough to claim a new look!
  • You must have Kas unlocked.
  • Kas starts in the formation.
  • Every 100 areas, all Champions are removed (other than Kas) and can't be used again during this adventure.
  • Champions can't be removed from the formation once they have been added.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.

Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus

The Bleeding Citadel

Variant: Strong and Healthy

Climb the stinking scab and enter the Bleeding Citadel while facing foes hungry for blood.
  • You may only use Champions with a STR and CON of 14+.
  • 1-2 Vampires spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.
  • Undead monsters deal 100% more damage and have 100% more health for every 100 areas completed, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Complete Area 650

Idyllglen

Variant: A Rider's Time to Shine

Relive history while taking on devilish foes with Champions on the straight and narrow path.
  • You may only use Champions that are either Good or Lawful.
  • 1-2 Spined Devils attack with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • Devil monsters deal 100% more damage and have 100% more health for every 100 areas completed, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Complete Area 675

The Battle of High Hall Tower

Variant: The Pumpkins from High Hall Tower

Return to Elturel for the final battle, facing the worst pumpkins that Avernus has to offer.
  • Two Pumpkin Sprouts join the formation.
  • Every 5 seconds, a thrown pumpkin hits a random Champion in the formation, requiring a DEX save or their next attack is delayed by 5 seconds.
  • Complete Area 700

Elturel's Last Stand

Variant: Lulu's Last Stand

Face off against Archduke Zariel of Avernus with a Hollyphant friend.
  • Lulu the Hollyphant joins the formation. Only Champions adjacent to Lulu can deal damage.
  • You may only use Champions with a STR of 10+ and a CHA of 13+.
  • Complete Area 675

Elturel's Last Stand

Variant: Reya's Last Stand

Face off against Archduke Zariel of Avernus with Reya!
  • Must have completed all other Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus adventures and variants.
  • Every 25 areas, a random champion with the lowest Dexterity will be sucked into a portal and removed from the formation. They cannot be added back for the duration of the adventure.
  • Reya starts in the formation. She can be moved, but not removed. (She also can't be sucked into a portal.)
  • You may only use Champions that are either Good or Lawful.
  • Champions can't be removed from the formation once they have been added.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 725
    • Additional Rewards:
      • 5 Modron chests
      • An exclusive feat for Reya which allows her to be used in any Descent into Avernus Patron adventure or variant.
      • 1,250 Corrupted Gems.

Variant: Run Away!

Continue to explore the Caves of Hunger, with a bunch of mad vampire gnolls on your tail.
  • You may only use Champions with a DEX of 18 or higher.
  • 1-2 Gnoll Vampires attack with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • Complete Area 625

The Rite of the Arcane Octad

Variant: Eight for the Octad

Explore the ancient city of Ythryn with a Champion of OUR choice!
  • A random Champion from seat 8 is immediately unlocked, added to the formation, and can't be removed.
  • Champions from the first four bench seats cannot be used.
  • Professor Orb and Aspix start in the formation. They just get in the way.
  • Complete Area 650

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight

The Court of Storms

Variant: Forever Wounded

Enter the Palace of Heart's Desire and face those hungry for blood.
  • Enemy speed is increased by 300%.
  • 1-2 Vampires spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.
  • Champions don't recover health when moving to a new area.
  • Champions resurrect at half health when changing areas instead of full health.
  • Complete Area 1050

Variant: Snicker-Snack

The Jabberwock is ready for a brawl. Time to hack, snicker-snack!
  • You may only use Champions with a melee base attack.

Explore the jungles of Aruun with those tough enough to survive being eaten by a Tarrasque!

Variant: Necessary Evil

2024 Champion Spotlight: Rosie

    Weighing in at just under 30 pounds and with a grandmotherly demeanor befitting her advanced age, Rosie Beestinger is easily mistaken for someone on the wrong side of the 'aggressor/victim' relationship. But this is a mix-up that few people make more than once.

Originally released in March 2019, Rosie Beestinger is a sassy Halfling Shadow Monk created by Kate Welch for Acquisitions Inc: The "C" Team. And now it is time for a Rosie rework!

Rosie has been significantly reworked to better lean into her niches - adventures with ranged enemies, and formations with younger Champions. Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Shadow Step - Rosie Shadow Steps behind one of the three closest enemies at random and hits them with a flurry of blows.

Formation Abilities

  • Sassy - Rosie deals +400% increased damage for every Champion in the formation younger than she is, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Deflect Missiles - Rosie gains a deflect stack every time she attacks. She can store up to 100 deflect stacks at once. Whenever an enemy attacks the formation with a ranged/magic attack, Rosie consumes a deflect stack and reflects it back at the attacker. The reflected attack deals Rosie's damage with a 100% additively increased chance of dealing a critical hit. This effect can trigger as often as necessary, as long as Rosie has deflect stacks available.
  • Timeless Body - Rosie gains a Timeless Body stack every time she successfully deflects a ranged/magic attack with Deflect Missiles. For each Timeless Body stack she has, Rosie increases the effect of Sassy by 1%, stacking additively. Stacks persist between adventures.
  • Slow Decay - Whenever Rosie is your BUD-setting Champion, the rate of BUD decay is decreased by 50%.
  • Shadow Arts - Rosie's critical hit damage is increased by 100% for every 100 levels she has been leveled up, stacking multiplicatively. Additionally, for every 4th attack, Rosie makes a Shadow Arts attack that deals 10 seconds worth of BUD damage to all enemies in a small area.

  • Matriarch - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Female or Nonbinary Champion in the formation who is younger than Rosie, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Familiar Friends - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Champion in the formation that belongs to the "C"-team, Acquisitions Incorporated, or Wafflecrew affiliations, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Grandmother Night - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Champion in the formation that is a Halfling, Rogue, or Monk, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations B

  • Grandma-Bod - The damage bonus provided by Timeless Body stacks is increased by 200%, and whenever she deflects a ranged/magic attack with Deflect Missiles she gains 4 stacks of Timeless Body instead of 1.
  • Busy Beestinger - Rosie's attack speed cooldown is lowered by 0.5 seconds (stacking additively) and her damage is increased by 400% (stacking multiplicatively) for each member of the "C"-Team in the formation, including herself.
  • Slower Decay - Increases Rosie's critical hit damage by 600% and the effect of Slow Decay is set to 75%.

Ultimate Ability

  • Grammamancy - Rosie roots all enemies in place for 5 seconds and becomes a blur of movement, pummeling up to 10 enemies on screen for ultimate damage, and refilling her deflect stacks to max.

Idle Champions: July 31st Adventure Variants

Rise to the challenge, face new Adventure Variants, and unlock a new Evergreen Champion! Today we add more Adventure Variants to five of our active campaigns. Read on to learn more about what these adventures are and where to find them!

Adventure Variants

This week's update brings 10 new adventure variants across five of our active campaigns - one of which unlocks Wren, our newest Evergreen Champion! Wren has been with the Champions throughout the Turn of Fortune's Wheel campaign, and after finishing the Twice Through the Great Wheel Adventure Variant you can add her to your formations.


Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions Descent into Avernus Variants

Descent into Avernus Adventure Variants

  • The Sibriex Variant 3: Heralds of Evil
  • Follow Bel's instructions and find the Sibriex with your evil Champions.
    • You may only use Evil Champions.
    • 1-2 Heralds of Dust Remnants spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Complete area 600.


  • Wrecked Flying Fortress Variant 3: Cake or Death?
  • Explore the flying fortress while under attack by assorted baked goods.
    • You may only use Lawful Champions.
    • 1-2 Cakers spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Every 3 seconds, a Cake lands on a random Champion, dealing 5% of their total max health. This damage additively increases by 5% for each cake that drops in the current area and is reset when changing areas.
    • Complete area 625.

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Adventure Variants

  • Reghed Glacier Mysteries Variant 3: A Key Factor
  • Head off in the nautiloid with a crew experienced with ceremorphosis.
    • 1-2 Emperor Vecna Cultists spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Male Champions cannot be used.
    • Complete area 550.


  • The Spire of Iriolarthas Variant 2: Rulebreakers
  • Gain the final clue to enter the Spire of Iriolarthas while being chased by Harmonium Guards.
    • You may only use Chaotic Champions.
    • 1-2 Harmonium Peacekeepers spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Complete area 700.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight Adventure Variants

  • The Roots of Loomlurch Variant 3: The Boots of Loomlurch
  • Follow these carefully laid out plans with Champions that understand the importance of good footwear.
    • You may only use Speed Champions.
    • Complete area 750.


  • Best Laid Plans Variant 3: Last But Not Yeast
  • Face off against Skabatha Nightshade and her Cakers allies!
    • You may only use Lawful Champions.
    • 1-2 Cakers spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Complete area 800.

The Light of Xaryxis Adventure Variants

  • Flight of the Kindori Pod Variant 2: Never Tell Me The Odds
  • Join Krux's crew, and navigate an asteroid field with a pair of bickering constructs.
    • You may only use Champions in odd bench seats.
    • A Tin Soldier and a Modron Slot Machine join the formation.
    • Complete area 700.

  • The Hunt for the Last Breath Variant 2: The Arcane Hunt for the Last Breath
  • Assist Gargenhale in retrieving his flagship, with Champions that can pilot a Spelljammer.
    • You may only use Champions with a magical base attack.
    • 1-2 Harmonium Peacekeepers spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Complete area 800.


Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions The Turn of Fortune's Wheel Variants

The Turn of Fortune's Wheel Adventure Variants

  • Welcome to Sigil Variant 2: Undertakings in Sigil
  • Explore Sigil while your good Champions evade the Heralds of Dust!
    • You may only use Good Champions.
    • 1-2 Heralds of Dust Remnants spawn with each wave. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress.
    • Complete area 500.


  • Titan on the Town Variant 2: Twice Through the Great Wheel
  • The Champions must hunt down Sylvania's moving gate to gain Wren's allegiance! Requires you to have completed variant 1, Clockwise Through the Great Wheel. This variant will not be available for Mirt (due to no champions being available in Lawful/Chaotic Neutral areas)
    • For the first 100 areas, you may use Lawful Good champions. Every 100 areas, this restriction changes: Neutral Good for area 101-200, Chaotic Good for area 201-300, and so forth. This restriction is linked to your highest area completed, not your current area.
    • Every 100 areas, all Champions in the formation are removed and can't be used for the rest of the adventure.
    • Champions can't otherwise be removed from the formation once they've been added.
    • Click damage only deals damage (including fire breath effects) for the first 5 areas after every alignment switch.
    • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure.
    • Complete area 950.
    • Unlocks Wren (Evergreen Champion)

Wren

Dungeons & Dragons Wren

    Wren woke up in the mortuary with the Champions and, like them, had no memory of who she was. The talking skull, Morte, gave her a name and from there she journeyed with the Champions on a quest to discover who they were. Along the way, disaster struck twice and Wren was killed - but each time she quickly returned in the form of herself from somewhere else in the Multiverse!
Wren is a glitch Champion where you get to pick her form. Will you choose the Dwarf Monk, focusing on her ability to deal damage? Will you choose the Tabaxi Barbarian, focusing on her ability to protect her allies? Or will you choose the Warforged Sorcerer, where she debuffs her enemies? Whatever form you pick, Wren will show up in seat 3 next to Nayeli.
