Idle Champions: Introducing Platinum
Posted in Idle Champions.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024 we will introduce a new unique currency, Platinum, to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Moving forward, Platinum will be the primary way to purchase items from the in-game Shop.

Introducing Platinum will dramatically increase efficiency and flexibility behind the scenes. It allows us to bring in new features like Daily Rewards, where players can claim Platinum and other rewards by playing the game, and Weekly Offers, which will give players more freedom to purchase individual items normally bundled into packs.

With this update we are also introducing Platinum Chests, a new tier of Chests only available through Platinum purchases that grants significantly increased item levels. Platinum Chest Packs also contain double the number of chests compared to Gold Chest Packs. Due to the significance of this change, we will be retroactively crediting additional Platinum Chests to eligible purchases made since September 1, 2024 when this update goes live.

As part of these exciting changes, all of our in-game shop items and platform DLC have had their pricing reviewed and updated. It was important to us that the switch to Platinum did not increase individual item prices - in fact, many items now come in at a slightly lower cost overall than before. For example, Theme Packs and Renown Packs have had their prices reduced 17% and 20%, respectively*. While the switch to Platinum applies to most in-game shop items, a select number of packs will remain as real money purchases on individual platform stores.

Overall, your money will go much further in this new system, and as an added bonus, your first purchase of each Platinum Pack option will reward double Platinum!

For additional information, please read the FAQs for each topic below.

* Prices for Theme Packs and Renown Packs reduced 17% and 20%, respectively when purchasing an equivalent platinum pack as the original $27.99 Theme Packs and $59.99 Renown Packs.

Please note that screenshots in this blog reflect a work in progress version of the Platinum, Daily Rewards, Weekly Offers, and Platinum Chest update. The finalized versions may differ in layout or appearance.

Platinum FAQ

What is Platinum?

Platinum is a unique currency that can be used to purchase items in the shop.

How do I get Platinum?

Platinum is primarily purchased for real money in the in-game shop, but small amounts can also be earned in-game. You can claim free Platinum every day from your Daily Rewards. Small amounts of Platinum also occasionally appear as a free item in the Weekly Offers shop.

What can I buy for Platinum?

Platinum can be used in the Shop to purchase Chests, Champions, Packs, Wild Offers, and items in the Weekly Offers shop.

What is the Weekly Offers shop?

The Weekly Offers shop offers five unique items each week for a variety of discounts. The items can include Familiars, Golden Epic equipment, Skins, and Epic Feats from retired packages (otherwise known as the wild offer pool), as well as chests, Champions, Potions, Rare Feats, and more. Most items in the Weekly Offers shop cost Platinum, but some cost gems, and some items are even free! If you want to get more offers each week, you can reroll individual offers for a small amount of Platinum. Check back every week to see what items are available for you!

How do Daily Rewards work?

Each day you can claim free Platinum and other items from your Daily Rewards. If you miss a day, you miss those rewards, so make sure to play the game and claim the rewards every day!

What is Daily Boost?

For a small amount of real money, you can unlock Daily Boost. This grants a moderate amount of Platinum upfront and then increases all of the Platinum rewards you claim from Daily Rewards for 30 days.

Why use Platinum instead of real money?

Platinum as an in-game currency offers several key advantages over only using real money:

  • Earn Platinum for Free: This allows us to reward our players in-game with currency that can be used to purchase items in the shop that would otherwise be sold for real money. All you have to do is play the game!
  • More Flexibility: Not only does this allow us to easily align sales across platforms, but with the added Weekly Offers system, it allows more freedom to purchase individual items that are normally bundled together.
  • More Efficiency: This will allow us to reduce the amount of DLC we create on various platform storefronts, saving significant time behind the scenes. Instead, items will go directly into the in-game shop.

Why are there some DLC packs only available for real money?

Some packs are available for real money so that Idle Champions can continue to be included in platform sales events and promotions. These packs and their unique contents will not be available for Platinum until after they are retired and their items enter the Wild Offer pool.

Do items cost more with Platinum than they did with real money?

All existing items are either equal in cost or cheaper than they were previously due to the bonuses you can get by purchasing larger denominations of Platinum at once. There are some cases where, due to the Platinum pack sizes, you may need to buy a pack that contains more Platinum than you currently need in order to make a purchase. However, the leftover Platinum can still be used to purchase additional items - and if it is not enough to purchase something else, it can be saved up and combined with free Platinum from Daily Rewards until it is enough.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Daily Rewards Work In Progress

Daily Rewards FAQ

What are Daily Rewards?

Each day, you can claim free Platinum and other items from your Daily Rewards. There are seven days per reward set, and if you miss a day then you miss out on that reward.

What is Daily Boost?

For a small amount of real money, you can unlock Daily Boost. This grants a moderate amount of Platinum up front and then increases all of the Platinum rewards you claim from Daily Rewards for 30 days. You can retroactively claim your additional Platinum on the day you purchase Daily Boost even if you've already claimed that day's rewards.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Weekly Offers Work In Progress

Weekly Offers FAQ

What are Weekly Offers?

Your Weekly Offers shop offers five unique items each week for a variety of discounts.

What do the rarity colors mean?

The rarity of each offer indicates how big the discount is relative to the largest Weekly Offer discount you could see for that item. Different items have different discount rates, so a rare (blue) discount on one item could be different from a rare discount on another.

How do rerolls work?

If you want to get more offers each week, you can reroll individual offers for a small amount of Platinum. Each reroll will generate a new offer for a random item with a rarity at least as high as the old offer.

What are these "free" offers? What's the catch?

They're free! Enjoy! Be sure to check your offers every week in case there's a free item for you!

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Platinum Chests Work In Progress

Platinum Chests FAQ

What are Platinum Chests?

Platinum Chests refer to Platinum-level Chests, a new more powerful tier of chests above Gold-level chests.

How do I get Platinum Chests?

When you purchase chests with Platinum, you will now, in most cases, receive a pack of Platinum-level chests instead of Gold-level chests. Platinum Chest Packs contain twice as many chests as Gold Chest Packs, so a purchase that used to award 7 Gold-level chests now awards 14 Platinum-level chests. As an example, buying an Artemis Skin & Feat Pack will now award 14 Platinum Artemis Chests, instead of 7 Gold Artemis Chests. Platinum Chests can not currently be obtained without spending Platinum.

What do Platinum Chests contain?

Platinum chests contain the same items at the same odds as Gold chests, and they even share an epic pity timer with Gold-level chests, but they have one important distinction: duplicate equipment found in Platinum Chests awards 30 additional item levels. When combined with the increased number of chests awarded in packs, this means that Platinum Chest Packs increase a Champion's average item level by considerably more than Gold Chest Packs, granting far more power and progression.

Are there chests that do not have a Platinum level?

Yes. Supply Chests, Modron Component Chests, and Glory of Bahamut Chests do not have Platinum-level versions, as they do not contain Champion equipment.

Event Augment Graduation Ceremony

Event Augments are unique modifiers to each event that can enhance almost any aspect. When M-M-M-ulti-Tier hit the scene on Ahghairon's Day, it was clear that this upgrade was exactly what the Augment system was made for. Idle Champions: Vecna Returns!
Posted in Idle Champions.

Somehow, Vecna has returned.

The lich is back! But he's not the only Vecna in town anymore. Evil forces from across the infinite multiverses are flooding into Idle Champions - and your formations are all that can stop them!

Vecna: Eve of Ruin officially releases next Tuesday in your FLGS and the next day in Idle Champions! We are thrilled to introduce the next exciting campaign into Idle Champions, and this time your formations will travel across the multiverse!

The Story Continues

Dungeons & Dragons Venca Eve of Ruin

In the tabletop adventure, it is most likely the adventurer's first time facing off against the legendary lich - but in Idle Champions, we have already fought him in several forms! Our Vecna has been building back his power since his defeat, but he's still in no place to try and take over the multiverse. He plans to bide his time, wait for the Champions to die out, and then strike when the moment is right.

Unfortunately for him, he's not the only Vecna in town anymore...

Dungeons & Dragons Venca Eve of Ruin

In another multiverse, in another time, Vecna succeeded in reshaping reality to his will. But one multiverse was not enough for him. There are more worshippers to gain, more planes to conquer, and more Champions to kill. This is a Vecna that has not known defeat. He defeated Kas before his rival could take his eye and hand. He conquered the Sword Coast in a matter of days. Nothing that has stood in his way has survived.

In our story, this new Vecna is known as Emperor Vecna. He is the greatest threat our multiverse has ever faced, and it is up to the Champions to stop him.

Vecna: Eve of Ruin sees the return of Reya and Blooshi, continuing their stories from the last time they faced off against the lich. Joining them this time around is Sgt. Knox from the Neverwinter MMORPG, as well as Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3! They'll need to team up with Kas and the Wizards Three to hunt down the lost pieces of the fabled Rod of Seven Parts if they have any hope of stopping Emperor Vecna from destroying everything they know and love.

...But where is our multiverse's Vecna in all of this? He wouldn't just hide from his multiversal self, would he? You'll have to find out when Vecna: Eve of Ruin releases in Idle Champions on May 22nd, 2024 at Noon PT!

Vecna Emergence

Vecnas (or, as he prefers - Vecnae) are emerging from other multiverses! We have faced several forms of Vecna, and ALL OF THEM are invading the Forgotten Realms! Vecnae that appear in Free Play Adventures, as well as their original boss forms (found in the adventures: Vecna Loots!, The Castle of a Thousand Vecnas, The Sanctum of the Sword, Get Back in the Castle, Vecna Out!, and The Fortune's Wheel) will drop Corrupted Gems that can be spent in the Thayan Enclave.

The Vecna Emergence starts on May 22nd alongside the release of Vecna: Eve of Ruin and runs until May 31st at Noon PT.

Idle Champions: Events 2.0 Preview Blog
    Posted in Idle Champions.

    Table of Contents

    Events 2.0 Goals

Events were the first system we added to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, kicking things off with our first event, Highharvestide, on September 28, 2017. Ever since then, events have remained largely unchanged – until now!

In the Idle Champions: 2024 State of the Game we stated our high level goals for Events 2.0. Before diving into the Events 2.0 Preview Blog, we want to reiterate our goals:

    1. Give players more choice over which Champions appear in events.
    2. Increase the depth of events with additional goals and rewards.
    3. Give more opportunities to update Champions outside of seasons.
Without further ado, let's talk about Events 2.0!

Note: Screenshots in this blog reflect a work in progress version of the Events 2.0 update. The finalized version may differ in layout or appearance.

    Event Changes

Events 2.0 is a significant update to the events system in Idle Champions. Because players will now be able to unlock more Champions, content, and rewards through Events 2.0, we are increasing the duration of events from 12 days to 21 days. Events will typically begin on the first Wednesday of each month and run for three weeks. Content updates for Idle Champions will occur on the Wednesdays outside events.

Along with the Event duration change we are reducing the number of annual events, shifting from 17 annual events down to 12. Long term, we plan to retire the Midwinter, Greengrass, The Running, Midsummer, and Brightswords events. However, as we transition over to the new Event 2.0 schedule, there will be a Greengrass event in April 2024.

Finally, Champions whose events are no longer active will have new homes with other events. Those Champions will be available using Flex Slots during their new events along with other retired Champions from those events.

    Featured Champions

Event 2.0 Events will have two Featured Champions. These Champions may be New Champions or Reworked Champions. Most events will have one New Champion and one Reworked Champion, however some may feature two New Champions, and some may feature two Reworked Champions.

All players will have free access to unlock and earn equipment for the same two Featured Champions each event. For our first Event 2.0 Event, Festival of Fools, all players will have access to the Reworked Champion, Dhadius the Scarlet, and the New Champion, The Dark Urge. Champion Spotlights for both of these Champions are coming early next week!

Dismantles will be offered for Reworked Champions for the duration of the event. However, the Dismantle period will end immediately if any Reworked Champion Chests are purchased using Event Tokens.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Events 2.0 Featured Champions The Dark Urge & Dhadius the Scarlet

    Flex Slots

In addition to the two Featured Champions for an event, everyone will have access to three Flex Slots. Flex Slots allow players to select additional Champions to unlock and earn equipment for during each Event 2.0 Event, choosing from a pool of retired Champions associated with the event. This pool of retired Champions includes the Champions from previous years of the event as well as some Champions whose events have been retired.

Events begin with one Flex Slot open with an additional Flex Slot opening during the second and third weeks of an Event 2.0 Event. Flex Slots that open during the second and third weeks of the event require 3 Time Gate Pieces to unlock. Between the two Featured Champions and the three Flex Slot Champions, players will be able to unlock and earn equipment for at least 60 Champions each year through Events 2.0.

There is also an extra Supporter Slot available during Event 2.0 Events. The Supporter Slot is an additional Flex Slot that can be unlocked as an additional bonus for making an in-game purchase of specially marked event-related DLC during an event.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Events 2.0 Flex & Supporter Slots

    Event Tiers & Rewards

Events 2.0 allows players to Tier Up events for individual Champions once all three of their event variants have been completed. This grants access to the next Event Tier and three additional event variants, which have increased difficulty and additional rewards.

There are currently four Event Tiers in total, increasing the number of Gold Champion Chests available from events for each Champion from three to 12. Completing Event Tiers also unlocks Event Buffs for associated Champions, which last for 60 days from the start of the event they unlock in. Some Event Tiers may also reward unique Feats and special consumable items. Not all Champions will initially launch with these additional rewards, however Featured Champions will always have them.

Event Tiers do not reset between events, so you can continue to progress through a Champion's Tiers during future events. Additionally, Event Buffs unlocked through Event Tiers will become active once again if you choose the Champion in a flex slot in a future event.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Events 2.0 Prestige Event Tiers

    Quality of Life Updates

As part of the Events 2.0 update, we are also making several quality of life updates:
    • Bounty Contracts used outside of events will award Event Tokens for the next event.
    • Event adventures, variants, and free plays no longer cost Event Tokens to start.
    • Event Tokens are now only used to purchase Event Chests directly (free plays no longer need to be grinded to obtain extra chests).
    • Event Tokens left over once an event ends will automatically be converted to Champion chests.
    • Retired Champions may come out of retirement.
    • Event Boons are granted to players who purchase specially marked event-related DLC during an event. There are four tiers of Event Boons that offer buffs to Champion Damage, Gold Find, Champion Health, Click Damage, and Speed. These buffs increase with each tier of Event Boon. Additionally, the first purchase that grants an Event Boon will also unlock the Supporter Slot.

    Collections

An expansion to Collections has been a long time coming, and is something we've wanted to focus on for several years now. Whereas the original Collections dialog only tracked your Champion's equipment progress, the updated and expanded experience allows you to track your progress across nearly every aspect of Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. It's also home to our new Guide and Collection Quest system, which you can read about later in this blog.

Note: Screenshots in this blog reflect a work in progress version of the Guide and Collections Quests systems. The finalized versions may differ in layout or appearance.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Collections

At launch, the updated Collections dialog will track the progress of your Campaigns, Blessings, Patrons, Champions, Skins, Feats, Equipment, Enemies, Familiars, Achievements, Time Gates, and Modron Cores. However, that's just the tip of the iceberg! For example, on the Champions page you can see % of Champions Unlocked, % of Champions with full Epic Equipment, Evergreen Champions Unlocked, Event Champions Unlocked, and % of Champions unlocked by year.

A few additional highlights of the updated system include:
    • Search and sort options for individual pages. (Search for adventures with specific enemy types when you have quests or challenges to defeat those enemy types as just one example!)
    • Finally re-read the adventure dialog from adventures you've already completed!
    • Preview Champion skins at a high resolution!
    • Use a 'Premium Progress' toggle that includes or excludes progress that can only be made with premium purchases in the game (set to 'Off' by default).
    • And there is even more to discover!

    Guide and Collection Quests

Starting Idle Champions can be daunting for newer players. With over one hundred Champions, eight campaigns, twelve annual events, and a plethora of systems to unlock, it isn't always easy to know where to start.

That's where Guide and Collection Quests come in.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Collections Guide Quests

Guide and Collection Quests can be found in the main Collections menu. There are over 300 Guide and Collection Quests, starting with the tutorial adventure and carrying through to every feature unlock and completion in the game. Guide Quests have gold or silver borders and lead to feature unlocks or unique rewards, while Collection Quests have normal borders and mark the individual milestones as you complete your collection.

Progress across both Guide and Collection Quests is retroactive. When you first open the Collections dialog and go into the Guide Quests menu, you will have the option to claim your completed rewards either individually or by clicking the 'Claim All' button to claim them all at once.

As we add additional Adventures, Variants, Champions, Campaigns, and other updates to Idle Champions, the Guide and Collection Quests will continue to be updated as well.

    Rewards

As you complete Guide and Collection Quests you will unlock Silver Chests, Gold Chests, Electrum Chests, Patron Gold Chests, Champion Gold Chests, Corrupted Gems, and Scales of Tiamat.

Barring any last-minute issues, Guide and Collection Quests will go live on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. We're eager and excited to receive your feedback and make further improvements to this system based on how you're using it!

Idle Champions: 2024 State of the Game

    Welcome!

Hello! I'm Chris Dupuis, the Executive Producer for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. In my role, I plan the release schedule and coordinate with our incredibly talented team throughout the various stages of production, from initial concept to final release. It's a genuine pleasure to finally be able to share the exciting updates our team has been tirelessly working on over the past few months.

2023 was a fantastic year for Idle Champions, and I want to thank our dedicated community for joining us on this adventure! We have a small team here at Codename, but we all work together towards the same goal of releasing fun and exciting content for you, our players. Last year:
    • We launched 18 new Adventure & Variant updates, 17 Events & Champions, four Seasons, and four Celebration Events.
    • We introduced and released four Emergence Events, starting with the Red Wizard Emergence around the release of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
    • We featured two Idle Champions Presents in-game events and Dungeons & Dragons 5E actual play campaigns with our community of incredibly talented content creators, introducing everyone to new original Champions: Miria, Solaak, Thellora, and Jang Sao.
    • The Idle Champions community came together to raise over $30,000 for some amazing charities, including One Tree Planted, Lambert House, Take This, and Extra Life.
    • Last but certainly not least, we worked with many fantastic partners last year including Deerstalker Pictures, Penny Arcade, and Cryptic Studios/Gearbox Software. We'd also like to give an extra special shout out to Larian Studios, who helped us to bring characters from the award-winning Baldur's Gate 3 to Idle Champions!
2024 is shaping up to be another big year for the game. We'll celebrate the 7th anniversary of Idle Champions this September, but before we get there we've got some big updates planned. We've got a lot to discuss, so let's get started!

Pausing Seasons for Core System Updates

We introduced Seasons to Idle Champions in September of 2022. Since then, we've rolled out seven Seasons featuring 35 Champions. However, Seasons are very resource-intensive to design and develop, and even though we have been able to keep up a steady stream of Season content, the time we've had available to work on other major system updates has been minimal. With that in mind, we put Seasons development on pause following the release of Season 7: The Rivals so that we could shift resources towards two major core system updates that we are very excited to finally be able to share with you now.

Without further ado, I'll let designers Peter Lee and Justin Stocks introduce you to Collections & Guide Quests, and Events 2.0.

    Collections & Guide Quests

I’m Peter Lee, System Designer for Idle Champions. You may best know my work from my career at Wizards of the Coast, where I worked on the development of the 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons and on board games like Lords of Waterdeep. I’ve been at Codename Entertainment since October 2021, where you’ve seen my hand in Champion designs and Adventure Variants. I've endeavored to make each new Champion feature an ability that makes them stand apart from the others, like Dungeon Master's Special Guest Star and Karlach's ties to the Zariel Patron. Today, I’m here to talk about Collections and Guide Quests.

Our revisions to Collections and the introduction of Guide Quests have two goals:
    1. Help players to more effectively track their progress within Idle Champions.
    2. Guide players (especially new or returning players) through the vast and ever-growing content of Idle Champions.
To start things off, we’re greatly increasing the usefulness of the Collections dialog. The current implementation shows the Champions and Equipment you have collected, but there is a lot more to the game than that! The updated dialog will feature Familiars, Skins, Campaign progress, Patrons, and so much more. There will be progress bars to show your overall completion, filtering to make it easy to search your Collections, and requirements to unlock major features like Trials, Campaigns, and Patrons.

It can be daunting to know what to do next in Idle Champions, especially for newer players. Guide Quests help players to determine what they should do next. These will work similarly to how Quests worked with Seasons, however, Guide Quests do not expire, and you can complete them at your leisure! As you complete these Quests, you’ll unlock additional, more difficult quests which will continue showing your potential paths through the game.

Each time you complete a Guide Quest you will earn rewards. In many cases it will be Corrupted Gems, but you’ll also find various Gold Chests and even some Scales of Tiamat. For our experienced players, there will be a button that lets you claim all the rewards at once, so you won’t have to click through hundreds of completed quests when they go live.

We’ll periodically add additional Quests as new content goes live, and I’m excited to see how this helps players progress through the game!

    Events 2.0

Hello, my name is Justin Stocks and I am the Lead Designer for Idle Champions. You can interact with me and my co-founder David Whittaker on our Dev Insights stream every Thursday at 2PM PT at twitch.tv/CNEGames. I am here to talk about the next major system update for Idle Champions: Events 2.0.

The event system was the first system we added to Idle Champions after we released the game in September 2017, and aside from some small tweaks, events have remained mostly unchanged. Events 2.0 is an evolution of this system, using everything we have learned over the past six and a half years.

Our goals with Events 2.0 are three-fold:
    1. Give players more choice over which Champions appear in events.
    2. Increase the depth of events with additional goals and rewards.
    3. Give more opportunities to update Champions outside of seasons.
So how did we approach each of these goals? Well, let me tell you.

Our first objective is to give players more choice over what Champions they recruit and gear up in events. This has become an increasingly important design task over the past couple of years, and even more so now that the number of unique Champions in the game has surpassed 100. Gearing up all of those old Champions is a daunting, time-consuming task! In Events 2.0, players will have the opportunity to customize their event by picking from a list of Champions associated with the event. There will be two Featured Champions in each event that everyone has access to, along with three other "flex slots" that allow players to customize the event to their liking. Flex slot Champions will include previously-retired Champions, going all the way back to year one superstars like Gromma, Strix, and Zorbu. This, combined with the ability to get more Gold Chests by completing the higher event tiers, should make it much easier to fully equip your entire roster of Champions.

Let's talk about goals and rewards next. In Events 2.0, after you finish all three variants, that Champion's event will upgrade to the next tier up. This allows you to replay the variants, each with a higher area requirement and another gold chest reward. Additionally, each completed tier will award a powerful buff for that Champion that will last during the event and continue for a period of time after the event ends. Finally, the highest tiers will award unique Feats and special consumable items. These tiers will reward players who have built powerful formations and geared up their Champions to meet the game's hardest challenges. If you don't quite have the power to beat them yet, don't worry! The next time you pick that same Champion in a future event, you'll be able to start from where you left off the last time and push for those high-tier rewards!

We mentioned that there will be two Featured Champions in each event, and this is related to our third objective. Not all Featured Champions will be new Champions -- some will be reworks of existing Champions! Most events will have one new Champion and one reworked Champion, but some could have two new Champions or even two reworked Champions, depending on what cool designs we've been cooking up.

Now, you might be thinking that having five event Champions to recruit and gear up in just 12 days is a bit much. You'd be right, but we are adjusting the cadence and length of events to account for this! Events in this new system will typically start on the first Wednesday of each month and last for three weeks. Time gate weekends and content releases will occur during the weeks between events. This will reduce the number of events per year from 17 to 12, but it will increase the number of Champions you can recruit and gear up during events from 51 to 60.

To cap this section, here's a quick summary of the changes from Legacy Events to Events 2.0:

    Legacy Events
    Events 2.0
Recruit and gear up to three Champions per event (51 Champions per year)
Recruit and gear up to FIVE Champions per event (60 Champions per year)
Three set Champions per event (no player choice)
TWO set Champions, then up to THREE additional player-picked Champions per event
    One new Champion per event
TWO new or reworked Champions per event
Up to three Gold Chests from variants (per Champion)
Up to 12 Gold Chests from variants (per Champion)
Max variant area requirement of 175 (not scaling based on progression)
Max variant area starts at 175 and increases alongside event tier (scaling based on progression)
Generally no unique rewards (ie. feats/skins/buffs)
Cool unique rewards for the new/reworked Champions, and buffs for all Champions
One event every three weeks (on average, but with confusing exceptions)
One event per month (predictably starting on the first Wednesday)
    Events last 12 days
    Events last 21 days

    Idle Champions Announcements
    Posted in Idle Champions.

    Good afternoon,

Today we have two announcements related to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, which can be found at the links below.

    January 16th
    Idle Champions: Switch Sunset
    Posted in Idle Champions.

    Welcome Champions,

We have bittersweet news for our Nintendo Switch players as we continue to work toward the long-running future we envision for Idle Champions. We are sad to announce that on Wednesday, February 7 at 12PM Pacific Time we will be sunsetting the Nintendo Switch version of Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Don't worry – Nintendo Switch players will have an opportunity to take their account progress to another platform of their choice. We have also put together a "thanks for playing" gift for Nintendo Switch players that includes over $150 of in-game items.

Before we continue, we want to make it clear that this only applies to Idle Champions players on Nintendo Switch. This will not affect players on other platforms.

Idle Champions launched on Nintendo Switch in May 2020, almost four years ago. It was an exciting time for us as we were pushing towards our goal of having as many players as possible join us on this "grand tour" of Faerûn. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who joined us on this journey so far.

Unfortunately, as some of our Nintendo Switch players know, the ongoing live service for the game on Nintendo Switch has not been without issues. As we looked into resource loads and our ability to live service the game, we concluded that it is no longer viable for us to continue supporting Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch.

This has led us to make the very difficult decision to sunset the Nintendo Switch version of the game on Wednesday, February 7 at 12PM Pacific Time. However, your progress will not be lost! We'll be able to migrate your Idle Champions account to another platform (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, or the downloadable client at CNE Games). Read on to learn more about this transition.

    Thanks for Playing

As a special thanks to Nintendo Switch Idle Champions players, we have a unique gift that includes over $150 of in-game items. All accounts created on Nintendo Switch before Tuesday, January 16 at 12PM Pacific Time will be credited with these items when they next log in. These items will migrate with your account when you move to a new platform.

Upon logging into Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch, your account will be credited with the Season 7 Champions: D'hani (Seat 1), Kent (Seat 4), Shaka (Seat 9), Virgil (Seat 10), and Selise (Seat 12), along with 16 Gold Chests and 2 Shiny equipment cards for each of them. Additionally, you will be credited with a unique Familiar, the Winter Intellect Devourer, and enough Season 7 progress to progress you to Level 30 when you migrate and gain access to the current Season.

Note: Accounts created on Nintendo Switch after January 16 will not receive these thank you gifts.

    Purchasing

As of now, purchasing has been turned off in Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch. In-game currency, DLC, progress, and the log-in reward noted above will all be migrated to your new platform when you migrate your account. For details on how to migrate your account, see the Migrating Accounts section below.

    Migrating Accounts

It is best to migrate your progress to a new account. We cannot merge accounts from two different platforms together. If you are ok with replacing all progress/items with your Nintendo Switch account progress/items, that can be done to an existing account on a different platform.
    1. Please log into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms using your Nintendo Switch account. Write down your account-specific MIGRATION CODE visible on the loading pop up.
    2. Open up Idle Champions on a new account on any of the other platforms the game is offered (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, or the downloadable client at CNE Games).
    3. Open the settings menu and select the 'Account Migration' button.
    4. Enter the MIGRATION CODE in that dialog.
