Idle Champions: Midwinter 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 6 introduces Fen, the Drow Dhampir Warlock from the Black Dice Society, and brings back Rust on the Habour, hydrophobic Tabaxi rogue and sometimes member of the Oxventure Guild, and Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue. Players have until Monday, January 23rd at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 6 unlocks and objectives.

I. Fen

Dungeons & Dragons Fen Midwinter
This Drow Dhampir Warlock has a touch of mischief and sneakiness, but she's loyal to those she cares for and a fearsome opponent for those who have earned her hate. Above all else, everything Fen has done has been for Isolde's freedom. Now she needs a new purpose to fight for, and maybe she can find it among the Society.

Fen is a DPS and Support Champion, and is the newest Black Dice Society member to join the formation. In addition to buffing the damage of Champions in her row, this Warlock/Rogue increases the attack speed of all Warlocks in the formation. Finally, she's keen to help you finish any Patron challenges you might still be facing. Once unlocked, you can find this Dhampir Drow in Slot 6 opposite Asharra.

For more details on Fen and her abilities, check out her Champion Blog, or her Spotlight Video below!

Year Six Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: Mirtwinter Day - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with Mirt the Moneylender. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Mirt also joins the formation and only Champions in Mirt's column can deal damage.
    Complete Area 75.

  • Adventure Variant 2: The Wise and the Warlocks - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with the wisest of your Champions. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Vajra and redeemed Zariel also join the formation; they're here for moral support. You may only use Warlocks, Black Dice Society Champions, or Champions with WIS 15+.
    Complete Area 125.

  • Adventure Variant 3: Oh Great, More Mist! - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day as the mists of Ravenloft envelop the city. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Since the weather is foggy, you can't use Champions with ranged attacks, except for Desmond. 1-2 zombies spawn with each wave; they don't drop gold or count toward quest progress. Strahd spawns as a second boss in each boss area and he must also be defeated to progress.
    Complete Area 175.

Idle Champions: Liar's Night 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

"Did you hear what happened at the Wayside Inn?"
    "No -- what happened?"
"While everyone was partying to Liars' Night they got robbed."
    "Seriously!? Who robs a party?"
"It was 'A Masked Man', apparently."
"What a jerk. I hope they catch him."
The local Liars' Night festivities at the Wayside Inn were interrupted by a masked thief! They stole magical items and escaped, and now it's up to the Champions to stop them!

Liars' Night 6 introduces Kent, the Tiefling Rogue from Rivals of Waterdeep! This event also brings back Brig Hellclaw, the Rogue/Bard played by Jason Charles Miller, and Ezmerelda d'Avenir, a prolific vampire hunter from the land of Barovia! Players have until Monday, October 31st at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Liars' Night 6 unlocks and objectives.

New Champion: Kent

Dungeons & Dragons Kent Eugenio

Kent is a former archaeologist turned adventurer whose Rogue skills and powers over death were honed by spending months making his way through the temple of Talona, where the rest of his archaeological research team was killed by traps and monsters. When he finally returned home to the lakeside town of Caradoon, he was the same outgoing, flamboyant Tiefling he had always been, but now it seemed to mask a darkness that Kent has since done his best to keep hidden. Fortunately for him, he doesn't have to bear the darkness alone, because not long after his return to Caradoon, he met smart, capable, and patient Aasimar named Virgil. Together they met up with Selise from the Rivals, and joined her and the rest of the crew in Waterdeep.

Kent is a support and DPS Champion who collects soul trinkets representing the highest level boss defeated in each campaign, which he uses to buff himself and Champions in his column. In addition, he increases the effectiveness of your achievement bonuses for the adventure he is on. Once unlocked, you can find this tiefling rogue with Jarlaxle in Slot 4.

For more detailed information on Kent, check out his Champion Spotlight!

Year Six Variants

  • Bossing Around - Chase down a masked man while fighting tougher bosses. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. There's an additional wave of enemies in each boss area, and the bosses have 3 times the health and deal 3 times the damage!
    Complete Area 75.

  • Quick and Quick-Witted - Chase down a masked man with your quickest champions. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. You can only use Champions with a Dexterity and Charisma of 13 or higher, or members of the Rivals of Waterdeep!
    Reach Area 125.

  • The Poisoned Rat Incident - Chase down a masked man while fighting a bunch of giant rats. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. Each wave spawns Giant Rats that don't drop gold or count toward quest progress. The first time an enemy is hit by a normal attack, they only take 1 point of damage.
    Reach Area 175.

Posted in Idle Champions.

It's the day before Shieldmeet and the Open Lord of Waterdeep has gone missing. Nobody has seen Laeral Silverhand in days and it is imperative that she be found before the meeting with the Masked Lords begins.

At the behest of the Blackstaff, the Champions are sent to discover what happened...

Ahghairon's Day 5 introduces and brings back Prudence, the Chaotic Evil Tiefling Warlock of the Oxventurer's Guild, and Omin Dran, CEO and founder of Acquisitions Incorporated. Players have until Monday, August 22nd at 12PM PDT to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

I. New Champion: Voronika

Dungeons & Dragons Voronika Key Art
This young Eladrin woman was raised to be the Queen of Koshmarr. What was meant to be an idyllic life took a dark turn when she was killed on the night of her wedding. But Voronika didn't let death stop her, even as she was pulled into the machinations of greater powers. Using her excellent intelligence and observational skills, as well as a lot of cunning and manipulation, she used the crown of the Raven Queen to defeat Zybilna and cause the fall of Prismeer. This action drew the mists to Voronika, and she became the new Darklord of her domain of Koshmarr.

Voronika is a Support Champion that allies with evil Champions and members of the Black Dice Society. With help from her Inner Circle Champion, she ultimately must complete three goals to claim the Crown of the Raven Queen and transform into a Darklord. For more information on Voronika and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Five Variants

  • The Fringe of Society - Help Laeral Silverhand track down a retired Open Lord with limits on which Champions can deal damage.
Voronika starts in your formation, and only Black Dice Affiliation members and Evil Champions can deal damage.
    Reach Area 75.

  • Ultimate Challenge - The search for the Open Lord continues by relying on Ultimate powers!
Voronika starts in your formation, and Champions deal no damage unless at lease one Ultimate is on cooldown.
    Reach Area 125.

  • In Search of Power - A royal escort joins the search for the Open Lord!
Voronika starts in your formation, and her base level-up cost is greatly reduced. She's joined by two Eladrin bodyguards, and additional Orc Fighters attack with each wave.
    Reach Area 175.

Idle Champions: Midwinter 5
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 5 introduces Rust on the Habour, hydrophobic Tabaxi rogue and sometimes member of the Oxventure Guild. Midwinter also brings back Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogu, and Môrgæn, the High Elf Ranger (Hunter) played by Morgan Webb also on Acquisitions Incorporated. Players have until Monday, January 24th at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 5 unlocks and objectives.

I. Rust on the Harbour

Dungeons & Dragons Rust Key Art
Rust on the Harbour is a former pirate who gave up a life at sea because it was far too wet. His deadly skills are in contrast to his sweet nature and short attention span, and he enjoys seeing others succeed even if they are supposed to be antagonists. Now trying life as an adventurer on land, he'll lend his roguish skills to anyone who can give him that which his heart desires most: one gold piece.

Rust is a Support and Gold Find Champion whose excitement to find coin helps the rest of the formation increase their gold find. When you want to add him to your formation you can swap him with Jamilah (Slot 11).

II. Rust's Stats

Race: Tabaxi Alignment: Neutral
Class: Rogue Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 23

STR: 12 DEX: 18 CON: 15
INT: 11 WIS: 12 CHA: 14

Role: Support, Gold Find
Eligible for Patrons: Vajra, Zariel
Slot: 11 (Jamilah)

Dungeons & Dragons Rust

III. Rust's Design

We are fortunate to get to work with a huge variety of live-play D&D series, but it's a rare treat to be able to include the Dungeon Master as one of the Content Creators who bring a Champion to our game. So we're very happy that our third Champion from the Oxventure crew from Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra comes from DM Johnny Chiodini! They created Rust as their character for a Saltmarsh campaign, and brought the supportive tabaxi in as an NPC for Oxventure to enjoy.

Rust does his best to help his allies be more deadly on the battlefield, but his main focus is cashing in on all the coin he can collect! He's always on the hunt for One Gold Piece, which he will happily grab from the field when dropped by a defeated enemy. As long as he holds a precious coin in his claws, he buffs the damage bonus to Highest Bidder and the gold find bonus for Rust For Hire. Plus the more Oxventurers Guild Champions there are in the formation, the more likely he'll find a shiny gold piece while saying Hello, Friends!

For more information on Rust and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

Year Five Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: Gold Devourer — Rust begins in the formation. He can't be moved or removed from the formation. The Devourer appears as a secondary boss on area 25. It must be defeated in order to advance. Gold Find is reduced by 99%. Gold Find is increased by 200% per Champion in formation with the Gold Find Tag.
Getting to know Rust: Rust increases your damage based on your total gold find. Use gold find buffing Champions in your formation to boost his support abilities!
    Complete Area 75.

  • Adventure Variant 2: Deadwinter Drama — Only Champions with CON of 14 or higher can be used. In every area, frozen skeleton archers that attack a random Champion from a ranged distance appear. These enemies do not drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. If any undead enemy attacks a Champion, that Champion is stunned for 1 second.
    Complete Area 125.

  • Adventure Variant 3: Heads or Tails — Rust begins in the formation (slot 6) with his One Gold PIece ability unlocked. He can't be moved or removed from the formation. When Rust is not holding his shiny gold piece, adjacent champions damage is disabled. When Rust is holding his shiny gold piece, non-adjacent champion damage is disabled.
    Complete Area 175.

Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 4
Posted in Idle Champions.

Ahghairon's Day 4 introduces Prudence, the Chaotic Evil Tiefling Warlock of the Oxventurer's Guild, and brings back, Omin Dran, CEO and founder of Acquisitions Incorporated, and James Winifred Darkmagic III. Players have until Monday, August 23rd at 12PM PDT to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

For more information about Year 4 Events and how they work, please check out our Year 4 Events Dev Blog.

I. New Champion: Prudence

Dungeons & Dragons Oxventures Prudence

There's nothing more fun than being the bad one, and this tiefling revels in her commitment to violent solutions to any problem! Abandoned as a child, Prudence grew up in a cave under the care of a hermit. But now she appreciates the companionship of her fellow Oxventure Guild members, even if they disagree on tactics and morality. She is a devoted warlock of Cthulhu and enjoys following his dark, if sometimes confusing, instructions. While her powers and abilities may be grim, her demeanor is gleeful as she disintegrates her foes!

Prudence is a DPS Champion who focuses on destroying her enemies with her Eldritch powers. When you want to add her to your formation you can swap her with Calliope (Slot 5).

II. Prudence's Stats

Race: Tiefling Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Class: Warlock Gender: Female
Age: 28

STR: 14 DEX: 12 CON: 17
INT: 15 WIS: 12 CHA: 18

Role: DPS
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt, Vajra, Strahd, Zariel
Slot: 5 (Calliope)

III. Prudence's Design

It's not often we can add such a joyfully evil Champion to our roster, and it was a delight to work with Jane Douglas to bring her bloodthirsty character to life in the game! The Oxventure crew from Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra have been playing together for several years, which gave us a wonderfully large library of adventures to draw from when creating Prudence in Idle Champions.

Prudence is focused on dealing damage and killing enemies, and the more foes she's felled the happier she becomes! Each time she kills an enemy she gains a stack of Glee, and those stacks further increase her damage. Her Specializations allow you to decrease the cooldown of either her base attack or ultimate attack, so she can get back to the slaughter even faster.

For more information on Prudence and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Four Variants

  • Spider Climb - Giant Wolf Spiders arrive in each area. These spiders drop no gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. Each time a spider is killed, a random Champion is stunned for 2 seconds. Only Champions with DEX of 12 or higher can be used.
  • Reach Area 75.

  • Gleefully Evil — Only Evil Champions can deal damage. Prudence starts in your formation and her base attack cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds.
Getting to know Prudence: Prudence finds it fun to kill enemies in front of her more squeamish good-aligned allies. Add good-aligned champions to power up her Glee stacks. If she maxes her stacks of Glee consistently, consider adding a non-good champion to give her someone who gets her jokes, increasing her max stacks and super-charging her power level!
    Reach Area 125.

  • Pure Hunger — A tentacle accompanies the formation. No one knows what it's doing, but it's freaking most of us out. Enemies move 100% faster and deal 100% additional damage. Every 25 areas, all enemies' speed and damage is increased by an additional 35%. Whenever Prudence kills an enemy, all enemies are stunned for .5 seconds.
  • Reach Area 175.

Idle Champions: Midwinter 4
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 4 introduces Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue. The event also brings back Môrgæn, the High Elf Ranger (Hunter) played by Morgan Webb on Acquisitions Incorporated, and K'thriss Drow'b, the Drow Warlock played by Kris Straub on Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team. Players have until Monday, January 25th at 12PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 4 unlocks and objectives.

For more information about Year 4 Events and how they work, please check out our Year 4 Events Dev Blog.

New Champion: Talin Uran

Dungeons & Dragons Talin Uran Combat Wheelchair

Like many in the D&D community, we were inspired when Sara Thompson introduced us to the Combat Wheelchair last summer. We reached out to Sara last year to get their help in bringing a Combat Wheelchair Champion to Idle Champions, and it just so happened that their D&D character, Talin Uran, was a perfect fit!

Talin Uran is a rogue of great renown within Waterdeep. While on an assignment with the Grambar's Blades a few years ago, he was caught in a building collapse that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Now equipped with his combat wheelchair, Talin is back to doing what he does best: Saving the day and looking awesome doing it.

Talin is a charismatic rogue who specializes in analyzing and exploiting enemy weaknesses, increasing the damage of allies, and slowing enemies with his Scatter Tacks. Talin is a Support champion, when you want to add him to your formation, you can swap him with Celeste (Slot 2).

II. Talin's Stats

Race: Tielfling Alignment: Chaotic Good
Class: Rogue Gender: Male
Age: 26 Affiliation: none

STR: 10 DEX: 18 CON: 12
INT: 13 WIS: 13 CHA: 18

Role: Support
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt the Moneylender, Strahd von Zarovich
Slot: 2, (Celeste)

Talin's Abilities

Talin does everything you would expect a rogue to get up to, including no shortage of mischief. He attacks using both his rapier with Quiet Ambush and his chair with Razor Edged Chakram. Talin zips around in his chair, dropping caltrops behind when attacking with his Scatter Tacks slowing and damaging enemies that enter them. Ever observant, Talin susses out his enemies' weaknesses and passes this information along to his allies to support the team with Spot Weakness.

For more information on Talin and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

    • Abyssal Chicken — Enemies move 100% faster. Charge!

"While everyone was partying to Liars' Night they got robbed."

"It was 'A Masked Man', apparently."
"What a jerk. I hope they catch him."
The local Liars' Night festivities at the Wayside Inn were interrupted by a masked thief! They stole magical items and escaped, and now it's up to the Champions to stop them!

Liars' Night 4 introduces Ezmerelda d'Avenir, a prolific vampire hunter from the land of Barovia. Ezmerelda brings a wealth of knowledge from Barovia to assist the Champions in dispatching their enemies.

This event also brings back Avren, the Half-elf Warlock/Sorcerer trickster, and Donaar Blit'zen, the Dragonborn Paladin. Players have until Monday, November 2nd at 12PM Pacific to complete their Liars' Night 4 unlocks and objectives.

For more information about Year 4 Events and how they work, please check out our Year 4 Events Dev Blog.

New Champion: Ezmerelda d'Avenir

Dungeons & Dragons Ezmerelda d'Avenir

Ezmerelda's Bio

Ezmerelda d'Avenir, a Vistana monster hunter, has devoted herself to ridding the world of evil in all of its forms. After years of tutelage by her mentor, the vampire hunter Rudolph van Richten, Ezmerelda struck out on her own. She has since amassed a sizable personal fortune and an impressive arsenal of weapons for hunting monsters. Following the defeat of Strahd von Zarovich, Ezmerelda joins the Champions on their journeys through the world of Toril.

II. Ezmerelda's Stats

Race: Human Alignment: Chaotic Good
Class: Fighter/Wizard Gender: Female
Age: 27 Affiliation: none

STR: 14 DEX: 19 CON: 16
INT: 16 WIS: 11 CHA: 17

Role: Support
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt the Moneylender, Vajra Safahr, Strahd von Zarovich
Slot: 1, (Bruenor)

Ezmerelda's Formation Abilities

A renowned vampire hunter from the land of Barovia, Ezmerelda is a Support Champion. She's a master fighter and uses debuffs to her advantage, culminating in her ultimate attack with a sun dagger to create a strong short-lived massive debuff for a devastating final team attack.

Ezmerelda has three different debuffs that she bestows on enemies as she's training the Champions in her martial & magical style. Her debuffs are based on her skills as a vampire hunter and are named for moments during her training: Pause, Prepare, & Parry.

In addition to her training the Champions, she also brings a wealth of knowledge against the undead, as illustrated in her The Devil's Playthings ability. Always training, Ezmerelda's Threat Tracking ability has her continuing to learn from her enemies in this new land. Both Threat Tracking and The Devil's Playthings start as undead based but can be changed to humanoid, fiends, or monstrosities with a specialization.

For more information on Ezmerelda and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 3
Posted in Idle Champions.

Each year the citizens of Waterdeep celebrate Ahghairon's Day, honoring the first Open Lord of Waterdeep and the founder of the Lords of Waterdeep. Common folk leave violets and effigies at Ahghairon's Tower and the House of Wonder, Lords toast Ahghairon and the Watchful Order, and Guildmasters offer toasts in the name of the Lords.

For this year's festivities, the party has received an assignment from the Open Lord of Waterdeep, Laeral Silverhand — and when the Open Lord calls, you must answer...

Ahghairon's Day 3 introduces Omin Dran, CEO and founder of Acquisitions Incorporated, and brings back Jim Darkmagic, the most famous and powerful wizard from Acq Inc, as well as Ishi Snaggletooth. Players will have until Monday, August 17th, 2020 at 12:00PM PDT, to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

Year Three Champion: Omin Dran

Omin Dran built the organization called Acquisitions Incorporated to facilitate his quest to find his true sister, at least in part. Despite his unprecedented success in establishing the market for franchised adventuring across the Sword Coast and beyond, Omin's full measure eludes most people. He is known to be a worshiper of Tymora, ruthless in matters of business, feckless in matters of love, and hopeless in games of chance. He is often accused of being a Masked Lord of Waterdeep, though that would explain some things...
Omin is a Gold Find and Support Champion. He uses Champion of Tymora to buff adjacent allies and Contractual Obligations to increase Gold Find. When you want to add Omin to your formation, you can swap him with Nayeli (Slot 3).

For more information about Omin, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Omin Dran dev blog!

Year Two Champion: Jim Darkmagic

James Winifred Darkmagic III is the scion of a mysterious, multi-planar wizarding family. As an entertainer and purveyor of the 'Jim Darkmagic Experience,' the legendary mage can often be found in markets and town squares performing feats of mundane legerdemain. The renown he has earned for these feats is nearly equaled by the reputation that follows him as a Chief Arcanist (and occasional arsonist) for Acquisitions Incorporated.
Jim is a DPS and Support Champion. His Wand of Wonder offers varied Support effects, and his Magic Magic Magic Magic increases the DPS of Champions with magic base attacks. When you want to add Jim to your formation, you can swap him with Minsc (Slot 7).

For more information about Jim, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Jim Darkmagic dev blog!

Year One Champion: Ishi Snaggletooth

Ishi Snaggletooth hails from a warren of Kobolds living in the sewers under Baldur's Gate. Always the type to be more curious than careful, she accidentally stowed away on a ship headed to Port Nyanzaru. There, she met her dear friend, the Firbolg Littlefox. Often shunned by humans, Ishi hopes to prove herself as a true hero however she can. Ishi's biggest claim to fame is the defeat of the known swordsman, Hershel Von Saberburg, and since that day she's touted herself as a renowned duelist to anyone that'll listen to her.
Ishi is always the fastest Champion in your formation. She increases her own damage as well as the party's Gold Find based on the number of non-human members. When you want to add Ishi to your party, you can swap her with Jarlaxle (Slot 4).

Year Three Variants

  • Lords of Waterdeep — Word has gotten around that you're searching for an ex Lord of Waterdeep, and fans of the city's ruling council join your adventure. A 'masked lord' of Waterdeep starts in your formation. Every 25 areas, another one joins you, filling the formation from the back to front.
    Reach area 75.

  • Vajra's Command — Vajra Safahr, The Blackstaff, suggests you take only the heartiest of the Champions with you on this endeavor. Omin counters that there are none heartier than Acquisitions Inc. Only Champions with CON 14 or higher, and/or an affiliation of 'Acq Inc "C" team' or 'Acquisitions Incorporated' can be used.
    Reach area 125.

  • Fortune Favors the Bold — Omin starts the adventure in the formation and cannot be moved or swapped out. Whenever a Champion attacks a non-boss enemy and kills them, the next base attack cooldown of Champions adjacent to them is reduced by 0.25 seconds. Whenever a Champion attacks a non-boss enemy and doesn't kill them, the enemy moves 100% faster and deals 100% more damage. This effect can stack additively.
    Reach area 175.

Year Two Variants

  • Spelling "Bee" — Our Champions continue to struggle to spell "Ahghairon's day". Spelling Bees spawn at random, reducing the DPS of whomever kills them by 90% for 20 seconds. If that Champion kills another Spelling Bee before their debuff expires, the effect stacks and resets the cooldown back to 20 seconds.
    Reach area 75.

  • Magical Misadventure — Only Champions whose base attacks are magical may be used.
    Reach area 125.

  • Center of the Multiverse — Jim Darkmagic starts the adventure in the formation and cannot be moved or swapped out. Only formation slots which Jim considers to be useful to himself may be used (the columns in front of and behind him).
    Reach area 175.

Year One Variants

  • Memory Magic — Two slots in your formation are affected by a magical spell causing all of the bandits to fight for the Eye of Gruumsh spellcaster. These affected slots change every 15 seconds by moving to a random adjacent slot. Heroes in affected slots must concentrate on resisting the magic, so they are unable to attack and all their Formation Abilities are disabled.
    Reach area 75.

  • Orcs Among Us — One, two, or three Powered-up Orc Fighters spawn randomly with each wave. They have triple health, do triple damage, they do not drop any gold, and they do not count toward any quest progress.
    Reach area 125.

  • No Humans Allowed — Ishi has been shunned by humans too many times, and for once she just wants them to see how it feels! You cannot use Human Champions in this variant.
    Reach area 175.

Idle Champion Spotlight: Omin Dran
Posted in Idle Champions.

It's time for our newest Champion Spotlight! Today, we're previewing the release of Omin Dran, half-elf cleric of Tymora, and CEO of Acquisition's Incorporated. Read on to learn about this new and exciting Champion releasing next week in Ahghairon's Day!

Omin Dran is a the CEO and founding member of the Acquisitions Incorporated, played by Jerry Holkins. He joins his 'employees' from Acq Inc: Jim, Môrgæn, Rosie, K'thriss, Donaar, and Walnut.

I. Ominifus Hereward Dran

II. Omin's Stats

Race: Half-Elf Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Class: Cleric Gender: Male
Age: 43 Affiliation: Acq Inc

STR: 16 DEX: 8 CON: 14
INT: 11 WIS: 18 CHA: 12

Eligible for Patrons: Vajra

III. Omin's Design

Omin's power comes from spreading Champion of Tymora to as many other Champions in the formation as possible. Using other Acq. Inc. or "C" Team members make this easier. Depending on the number of Champions of Tymora active and the specializations you pick, Shadow Council can be heavily buffed. Choose a specialization that is more challenging to effectively use results in a bigger bonus. Finally, Omin has an ability that increases gold find based on him being behind a big column in the formation.

Okay, now it's time to talk details...

IV. Omin's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Appropriate Intervention — Omin smashes the nearest enemy with his gigantic two-handed maul.

Formation Abilities

  • Shadow Council — Increases the damage of Champions adjacent to Omin by 100%
  • Champion of Tymora — Whenever Omin attacks he recruits all adjacent Champions to be Champions of Tymora for 3 seconds. Champions of Tymora have their damage increased by 100% and cause any other Champions adjacent to them to become a Champion of Tymora when they attack. The three second duration is reset if they are granted this ability again before it expires.
  • Contractual Obligations — Omin contracts the Champions in the column in front of him to fight on his behalf. Each time they attack they grant Omin one stack of Obligation Fulfilled. Once Omin reaches 100 stacks, he provides a 100% gold find buff for each Champion in the column in front of him, stacking multiplicatively. This effect lasts for 30 seconds.
  • Known Associates — The duration of Champion of Tymora is doubled on Champions with the Acquisitions Incorporated and/or The "C" Team affiliation.

Specializations

  • Long-Lost Friends — Shadow Council now only applies to Champions who are not adjacent to Omin, and the effect is increased by 85% for each Champion affected by Champion of Tymora, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Close Allies — Increase the effect of Shadow Council by 100% for each Champion affected by Champion of Tymora, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Assassin — Shadow Council now only applies to Champions in the slot(s) furthest from Omin (following slot adjacencies, not as the bird flies), and the effect is increased by 125% for each Champion affected by Champion of Tymora, stacking multiplicatively.

Ultimate Ability

  • Spirit Guardian — Omin summons 15 Spirits to aid him in battle. They fly around the monster side of the screen in a random pattern and one explodes at random every 2 seconds, dealing damage in a large radius. While any of Spirits remain alive, the base duration of Champion of Tymora is increased to 6 seconds.

V. Omin's Equipment

Slot 1: Global DPS
Slot 2: Shadow Council
Slot 3: Champion of Tymora
Slot 4: Contractual Obligations
Slot 5: Ultimate Damage
Slot 6: Ultimate Cooldown

Idle Champions: Festival of Fools 3
Posted in Idle Champions.

How far would you go to celebrate foolishness?

Festival of Fools is a time honored tradition in Sword Coast communities. Townsfolk engage in the usual gluttonous consumption of food and drink during the festivities, but they also play pranks on each other.

Unfortunately, one prankster has decided to play a practical joke on a Frost Giant nearby...

Festival of Fools 3 introduces Briv Steelmarrow, Half-Orc Paladin (Oath of Heroism), and brings back Rosie and Strix Beestinger. Players have until Monday, March 23 at 12PM Pacific to complete their Festival of Fools 3 unlocks and objectives.

Dungeons & Dragons

Year 3 Champion: Briv Steelmarrow

Relentlessly brave but markedly uncouth, Briv Steelmarrow is a stalwart champion of the weak, innocent, downtrodden, and oppressed. Centuries ago, a cabal of Netherese mages experimented on Briv’s clan, gifting him with a magical metal inside his bones that he can pull through his skin and shape for attack or defense. Once a slaver, Briv sought atonement by joining the Order of the Lost Cause, an elite group of knights that travel across Faerûn, taking on quests that only fools would pursue.

Briv is a Tank, Support, and Healing Champion. He uses his Unnatural Haste ability to speed up area progression, and his Steelbones boosts his defense while buffing Champions behind him. When you want to add Briv to your formation, you can swap him with Calliope (Slot 5).

Dungeons & Dragons Rosie Beestinger Acquisitions Incorporated

Year 2 Champion: Rosie Beestinger

Weighing in at just under 30 pounds and with a grandmotherly demeanor befitting her advanced age, Rosie Beestinger is easily mistaken for someone on the wrong side of the “aggressor/victim” relationship. But this is a mix-up that few people make more than once.
Rosie Beestinger is a sassy DPS Champion. Her damage increases for each Champion in the formation younger than she is, and she catches and deflects incoming missiles.

When you want to add Rosie Beestinger to your formation, you can swap her with Tyril (Slot 10). For more information about Rosie, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Rosie Beestinger dev blog!

Dungeons & Dragons Strix Beestinger

Year 1 Champion: Strix Beestinger

The Sorcerer known as Strix is from Sigil, the City of Doors at the center of the multiverse. Very little is known of Strix's heritage, even to herself, but it was recently discovered that she was a powerful member of the Skizzicks family, who long ago made a pact with Asmodeus, ruler of the Nine Hells, to become Tieflings.
Strix Beestinger is a 'Trash Witch' DPS Champion who attacks enemies with Fireballs. Her Poor Hygiene ability causes approaching enemies to take increased damage. When you want to add Strix to your party, you can swap her with Jamilah (Slot 11).

Year Three Variants

  • A Little Perspective — Pixies spawn at random in all non-boss areas. When a Pixie spawns, it shrinks a random Champion by 33%, decreasing their damage done by 99%. This effect persists until the Pixie causing it is killed. This effect can stack multiplicatively if multiple Pixies target the same Champion.
    Reach Area 75.

  • Nerves of Steel — Briv starts in the formation and can not be moved, removed, or swapped out. Normal enemies move faster and attack faster; bosses are unaffected.
    Reach Area 125.

  • A Delicious Diversion — A cart of tasty pies, baguettes, and other baked snacks takes up two slots in the formation; the cart has 100 hit points. Ravenous Crows and Famished Rats spawn randomly in each area. These additional creatures have armored health. If, for whatever reason, the cart is smashed, you immediately lose the area and go back to the previous area.
    Reach Area 175.

Year Two Variants

  • A Lighter Touch — Only Champions with a Strength (STR) score of 14 or lower may be used. Additionally, Champions with an Intelligence (INT) score of 14 or higher deal 400% increased damage.
    Reach Area 75.

  • Flay the Fools — During boss areas, Mind Flayers appear and attack the formation. While alive, Mind Flayers make all other enemies immune to damage.
    Reach Area 125.

  • Beestingers Unleashed — This adventure features unique dialogue created with the help of Strix & Rosie themselves! Strix and Rosie Beestinger begin the adventure in your formation with Strix asking Rosie what it means to be a Beestinger. No other Champions are able to be used, however, both Strix and Rosie Beestinger have increased damage, increased attack speed, and reduced Ultimate ability cooldowns. Additionally, Rosie Beestinger's Matriarch also doubles her health.
Completing this adventure will unlock a bee outfit for both Rosie & Strix!
    Reach Area 175.

Year One Variants

  • Foolish Variance — Champions randomly do between 0.1% and 199.9% of their actual damage with each hit.
    Reach Area 75.

  • Persistent Foolishness — The Drunken Fool appears randomly in non-boss areas. Only one can be spawned at a time, but he has special abilities each time he appears.
    Reach Area 125.

  • Like Father Like Son — The farmer's son takes up a slot in the formation. He moves to a new slot every 25 areas. Every 15 seconds (in non-boss areas) the farmer's son foolishly summons a Frost Giant to attack the formation unless Strix is adjacent to him.
    Reach Area 175.
