Idle Champions Announcements
Posted in Idle Champions.

Good afternoon,

Today we have two announcements related to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, which can be found at the links below.

January 16th
Idle Champions: Switch Sunset
Posted in Idle Champions.

Welcome Champions,

We have bittersweet news for our Nintendo Switch players as we continue to work toward the long-running future we envision for Idle Champions. We are sad to announce that on Wednesday, February 7 at 12PM Pacific Time we will be sunsetting the Nintendo Switch version of Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Don't worry – Nintendo Switch players will have an opportunity to take their account progress to another platform of their choice. We have also put together a "thanks for playing" gift for Nintendo Switch players that includes over $150 of in-game items.

Before we continue, we want to make it clear that this only applies to Idle Champions players on Nintendo Switch. This will not affect players on other platforms.

Idle Champions launched on Nintendo Switch in May 2020, almost four years ago. It was an exciting time for us as we were pushing towards our goal of having as many players as possible join us on this "grand tour" of Faerûn. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who joined us on this journey so far.

Unfortunately, as some of our Nintendo Switch players know, the ongoing live service for the game on Nintendo Switch has not been without issues. As we looked into resource loads and our ability to live service the game, we concluded that it is no longer viable for us to continue supporting Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch.

This has led us to make the very difficult decision to sunset the Nintendo Switch version of the game on Wednesday, February 7 at 12PM Pacific Time. However, your progress will not be lost! We'll be able to migrate your Idle Champions account to another platform (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, or the downloadable client at CNE Games). Read on to learn more about this transition.

Thanks for Playing

As a special thanks to Nintendo Switch Idle Champions players, we have a unique gift that includes over $150 of in-game items. All accounts created on Nintendo Switch before Tuesday, January 16 at 12PM Pacific Time will be credited with these items when they next log in. These items will migrate with your account when you move to a new platform.

Upon logging into Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch, your account will be credited with the Season 7 Champions: D'hani (Seat 1), Kent (Seat 4), Shaka (Seat 9), Virgil (Seat 10), and Selise (Seat 12), along with 16 Gold Chests and 2 Shiny equipment cards for each of them. Additionally, you will be credited with a unique Familiar, the Winter Intellect Devourer, and enough Season 7 progress to progress you to Level 30 when you migrate and gain access to the current Season.

Note: Accounts created on Nintendo Switch after January 16 will not receive these thank you gifts.

Purchasing

As of now, purchasing has been turned off in Idle Champions on Nintendo Switch. In-game currency, DLC, progress, and the log-in reward noted above will all be migrated to your new platform when you migrate your account. For details on how to migrate your account, see the Migrating Accounts section below.

Migrating Accounts

It is best to migrate your progress to a new account. We cannot merge accounts from two different platforms together. If you are ok with replacing all progress/items with your Nintendo Switch account progress/items, that can be done to an existing account on a different platform.
  1. Please log into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms using your Nintendo Switch account. Write down your account-specific MIGRATION CODE visible on the loading pop up.
  2. Open up Idle Champions on a new account on any of the other platforms the game is offered (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, or the downloadable client at CNE Games).
  3. Open the settings menu and select the 'Account Migration' button.
  4. Enter the MIGRATION CODE in that dialog.

Switch Sunset FAQ

  • When does the Nintendo Switch version of Idle Champions turn off?
  • As of Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 12PM Pacific Time, Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms will no longer be actively supported on the Nintendo Switch.
  • How do I migrate my account?
  • To migrate your account, please follow the instructions in-game on your Nintendo Switch client or read about it at www.idlechampions.com/SwitchSunset
  • Will it be possible to migrate my account after February 7?
  • After February 7, 2024 it may no longer be possible to get your account information to migrate your account, so we are asking all active players to please migrate before that date. Afterwards, please reach out to us at idlechampions@codenameentertainment.com and we will do our best to help you.

BW2: Endangered Species Mini Event VI!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Endangered Species - Sixth Encounter

Habitats are changing, and it's endangering many different animal species. Carson Tiva has found that three different endangered species can currently be found in Bushwhackia, as they search for new places to live.

Three Endangered Species

Barred Bandicoot - An endangered nocturnal morsupial in decline from habitat loss and predation

California Condor - A New World vulture critically endangered from habitat loss and poaching

Florida Panther Cub - An endangered big cat hunted to near extinction

Collect Conservation Data

Like you did during Carson's last visit, apply your bush whacking skills to help them collect Conservation Data on these unique animals for the limited time they're here. To gather data, you just have to give them a whack with your sword or other whacking implement. With said data, Carson Tiva can use it to try and help what's left of these unique animals.

Which species you encounter in the fields will be random, so if you fall behind in finding one of the three animals, you can start one of Carson Tiva's pursuit quests. You can do one pursuit quest every 20 hours.

Earn Rewards

Your efforts will not go unrewarded! Carson Tiva will trade you for this data in their store, plus you'll earn a unique plaque for your contributions! Like event ribbons, this plaque will increase your maximum energy based on your performance.

Collect data, complete the achievements, and earn rewards!

In addition to a new set of species, Bush Buck Bundle, and energy boosting plaque, you can earn a new Munching Camel ranch item reward!

Limited Time Only

Go to the event area of the Commons to get started, and gather as much data as you can before noon on Tuesday November 28th, Pacific Time!

BW2: Enter the Flungeon 20.0
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Tired of completing the same Flux field over and over for Flux Dust while you wait for the next update? This update is for you! A brand new endless dungeons system in the Flux 20.0! The new way to get Flux Dust! Achieve more rewards and goals in addition to Flux Dust in a more interesting system.

Enter the Flungeon

Behold the Flungeon 20.0 (aka the Flux 20.0 Dungeon)! It features a new endless dungeon system where you collect Flux Dust and other unique currency in a progressively challenging series of fields and puzzles.

Now, let’s talk more about what’s in the Flungeon 20.0…

Dungeon Depths

The Flungeon is an Endless Dungeon: a series of small areas, or 'depths', where you solve puzzles until you reach the bottom of the 'tier'. There, you earn a reward and return to the entrance. From there you can enter again, but this time you must go deeper! The deeper you go, the more costly the bush whacking becomes.

Upon completing the puzzle at a given depth, a chest is revealed! These Depth Chest rewards are comparable in value to similar drops in Quester's Satchels, but scale with your level.

And for those who found the 144 piece Flux puzzles hard to see due to how small the pieces are, the Flungeon puzzles are only 100 pieces!

Reward Paths

After opening the chest at a given depth, 3 paths are revealed. Each path indicates the reward you’ll get in the next depth chest if you go that direction. These paths let you pursue your own goals, be they accumulating Gold, Gems, XP, or more Flux Dust in the form of Flux Flax Seeds! *NEW* You can also find more rare rewards, including Pet DNA & Treats, Mount Feeds & Vouchers, Alchemy Powders & Luck Orbs, Premium Seeds, and Tokens, and more! Boss chests have a better chance of having rarer loot, so you'll typically have better choices for upcoming boss rooms.

One of the paths is always locked! Unlock it using a Flungeon Key for even more rewards, boosting the contents of that path by 50%!

Flungeon Keys can drop from depth chests, so keep an eye out for them on the reward paths. And if you really can’t let an opportunity go to waste, you can buy a limited daily amount of Flungeon Keys for Bush Bucks at the glitch near the gate (more on that below).

Reward paths after opening the chest

Area Effects

For those craving more variety, each depth has a chance to have different effects. These effects might change your bonuses, add special bushes, or even replace the bush field with a puzzle to solve, like Sudoku or Slide Puzzles!

The Fountain Depth

Starting at depth 6, a special fountain zone might appear instead of a field or puzzle zone. Here you'll find a fountain to restore a portion of your energy, mana, and power, as well as a fishing spot, and a curious dungeon dweller. After visiting the fountain zone, you won't see it again for at least another 15 depths, so savour the visit!

*New* The Flungeon Terminus

At the end of every tier you complete in the Flungeon, you will arrive at the Terminus. This is a unique room that reflects your progression through the Flungeon. Here you can turn in trophies, fish, and unlock things based on your highest tier unlocked.

You can also visit the Flungeon Terminus on demand by paying 1 Flungeon Key at the Glitch near the door in the Flux 20.0.

The Dungeon Area Bar

While in a dungeon, a special UI piece will show under your XP and Power bars on the top left. This has several pieces to it: The progress bar tells you what tier of the dungeon you're on (Tier X) and how far through that tier you are (Y/Z) Clicking the door button will open the Dungeon Area Dialog, where you can view your progress through that tier of the dungeon, the difficulty at your current depth, and view a summary of the loot you've found in dungeon chests so far. Icons below the progress bar indicate effects in that depth of the dungeon, like energy and mana cost increases, whacking effects, and/or special effects like unique bushes or puzzles.

Boss Bushes

Every 5 levels is a massive bush you must cut down! These are Boss Bushes. These fearsome foes will be revealed once you solve the puzzle. Once they reveal themselves, you'll have to cut them down with many whacks. Different whacks have different properties against these burly bushes: Quick Whacks can deal up to 6 hits, storing a loot per hit, sometimes dropping one loot Mana Whacks deal up 6 hits but only stores or drops one loot Power Whacks deal hits equal to the power consumed! Loot multiplying effects still apply! This is the fastest way to cut down these stalwart shrubs Upon defeat, all stored loot gushes out from the stump of the boss bush. Loot can occasionally drop on a hit as well.

Tier Completion

After completing the last depth of a tier, an exit symbol will appear on the ground. Clicking it will pop up the "Tier Complete!" dialog, detailing what you earn from depth chests in that tier, and taking you back to the dungeon entrance.

The completion popup for a run of Tier 1 in the Flungeon 20.0

Rebooting the Dungeon

Rrrrreboot! Since the costs to whack bushes (manual whack, quick whack, and mana whack) increase with each depth and tier, you will inevitably reach a point where you cannot afford to whack in the dungeon! This, or sometime before this preferably, is when you would reboot the dungeon. Rebooting is part of how you progress deeper into the dungeon and earn special rewards!

When you reboot: You earn Flungeon 20.0 Data, based on how many depths you completed since your last reboot of the dungeon. Flungeon 20.0 Data helps you make sense of the dungeon, reducing how much the cost to whack increases throughout the dungeon. The reduction per Flungeon 20.0 Data does not scale 1:1. As you accrue more data, each data makes less and less of reduction. This gradual tapering of data potency is part of what makes the endless dungeon endless. You can earn Glitch Nexus Cores, but only once for each tier you've completed. The amount you earn per tier is relative to the cumulative number of depths required to complete that tier. For instance, if you completed Tier 1 this reboot, you'll earn 3 Glitch Nexus Cores. The next time you reboot, you cannot earn Glitch Nexus Cores for completing Tier 1. Instead, you'll have to complete higher tiers to earn more, but will earn more for these higher tiers.

Why not always reboot after the first tier, you might ask? Because the tier rewards get better the higher your tier! Plus, as you reboot, the bush whacking costs will level out at the lower levels, letting you reach the higher tiers for no additional whacking cost anyways. This is all aside from earning the currency and achievements associated with reaching the higher tiers!

The Dungeon Rebooted dialog, after having rebooted at Tier 4, claiming tiers 3 and 4 for the first time

Community Goals

After completing tier 1, you’ll notice a glitch outside the dungeon gate in Flux 20.0. Clicking this glitch gives you access to the Flungeon Franchise store, the Flungeon Key Kiosk, and also a list of community achievements!

What kind of achievements? It tracks the first player to complete each tier! Not only is that player’s name recorded for all to see, but by completing that tier for the first time, they unlock a Flungeon Key reward for everyone in the community! Each player can claim any unlocked keys at the glitch outside the dungeon gate in Flux 20.0.

A Delver’s Quest

Once you open the Flungeon 20.0, you’ll start a quest. This quest will help guide you through the process of delving into an endless dungeon. So heed its guidance, and earn its rewards!

Plus, there are 17 achievements related to your progress through the Flungeon 20.0!

Beyond the Flungeon 20.0

Our plan is to add unique Flungeons for each of the future Fluxes. So there will be a Flungeon 21.0 with the next major content region. You’ll earn the same rewards, but it will be in a fresh dungeon. This has the advantage of letting you claim those easier early rewards, in case you’re struggling with the later ones of the past dungeon.

And if this format is popular, we might add different dungeons throughout Bushwhackia. These dungeons could be hidden or in plain sight, and have distinct rewards and quests. Perhaps there’d be an Alchemy Dungeon, where the rewards are different Powder Vials and Rune Recipes! Your thoughts on these sorts of ideas are encouraged.

And that’s the jist of it! As always, please post your questions and feedback on the forum thread.

If you encounter any bugs, alert the developer pronto with a support ticket or email bw2support@codenameentertainment.com!

FAQ

Q: How long does the Cost Reduction last?
  • If you're Boosting the reduction, it only lasts until you complete that tier of the dungeon (which can be a while in the later tiers).

  • The reduction you get from data after Rebooting lasts for that specific dungeon forever.
Q: The armored/boss bushes aren't working!
Try walking out of the field then back into it. If it persists, alert the developer with a support ticket or email bw2support@codenameentertainment.com!

Q: The Dungeon Area and Enter Dungeon pop-ups say I can reduce the whacking costs using Delver's Data. What is it?
Delver's Data is a premium item included in the Flungeon Starter Pack. If you don't have any Delver's Data, you can reduce the cost using Bush Bucks instead.
Q: Is Delver's Data the same as Flungeon Data?
No. Flungeon Data is gained only by rebooting the dungeon, and cannot be spent. Whereas Delver's Data is a premium item you can spend to temporarily reduce a dungeon's whacking costs, lasting until you complete the current tier or reboot it.
Q: Special Bushes are annoying, particularly since they don't spawn right away so I can't plan the right whack!
The Flungeon Franchise store has a trinket that can help with this: The Spawn Frequency Tuner! This trinket causes bushes to spawn immediately after whacking them, letting you plan out each whack in advance.
Q: Where is the Glitchkeeper?
The Glitchkeeper is in the Fountain Depth, left of the pool. The Fountain Depth has a chance to appear after depth 5.
Q: Does the amount on the locked path sign include the +50%?
Correct! For instance, the base amount of Flungeon Keys is 2 Keys, 50% of 2 is 1, so 2 + 1 = 3 keys, which is what you'd see on the gold/locked path sign.

Updates

The May 18th, 2022 update included a slew of improvements to the Flungeon 20.0! Read the Change Log.

Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Endangered Species - Third Encounter

Habitats are changing, and it's endangering many different animal species. Carson Tiva has found that three different endangered species can currently be found in Bushwhackia, as they search for new places to live.

They are:

The Bawean Deer - A critically endangered deer, or 'hog deer', hunted for its antlers and pelt.

The Eskimo Curlew - A critically endangered shorebird that may already be extinct.

The Black Rhino - A critically endangered hook-lipped rhino poached for its prized horns.

Your efforts will not go unrewarded! Carson Tiva will trade you for this data in their store, plus you'll earn a unique plaque for your contributions! Like event ribbons, this plaque will increase your maximum energy based on your performance.

Collect data, complete the achievements, and earn rewards!

In addition to a new set of species, Bush Buck Bundle, and energy boosting plaque, you can earn a new Sleeping Elephant ranch item reward!

FAQ

Q: What is this a solution for exactly?
A: Most browsers, Safari, Edge, Chrome, and Firefox, will no longer support Adobe Flash Player near the end of 2020. Since Bush Whacker 2 needs the Flash Player to run, this will mean you won't be able to play it in these browsers! The Desktop Launcher doesn't need a browser to run, so with it you can keep playing well into the future!

Q: Will I lose my progress?
A: Nope! You can switch between playing on the Codename Games website and the Desktop Launcher. It's the same account, just in a different place!

Q: Is this only for Codename Games website players?
A: Yes. You log in with the same account you use to play on Codename Games.

Q: What about Facebook, Kongregate, and Armor players?
A: At this moment, the Desktop Launcher is only for Codename Games users. We'll address other platforms later on. For Facebook users, you'll be able to play in Facebook Gameroom.

Q: Will the Desktop Launcher work on Mobile (tablet/phone)?
A: No. The Desktop Launcher is only intended for Windows and Mac computers at this time.

Q: I get this message when installing the game on Windows! Help!

A: This message may occur as our app develops reputation with Windows Defender Smartscreen. The Desktop Launcher has a legitimate Code Signing Certificate, which you'll see after continue with the installation. Simply click "More info" then the "Run anyway" button to continue with the installation.

Q: When I open the launcher on Mac, I get a popup asking about a security key or something?

A: The Launcher needs permission to store your login information! Enter your password to grant it access, or simply deny it access. If you deny, know that the program won't be able to remember your login info.
