A Peaceful Pasture
Howdy there, Bush Whackers! Take a gander at an all new zone, the Pasture; complete with a Barn that will train your pets for you, earning them XP while you're off on your adventures! Not only that, you can decorate this zone much like your House, Golf Course, and Island.
But hold your horses; You have to unlock it first!
Unlocking the Pasture
There are two phases to unlocking the pasture: the community phase, and the individual phase.
Community Phase
Before each of you can unlock your own Pasture zones, you'll first have to complete a community quest to save derelict barns across Bushwhackia at risk of condemnation by winning a legal battle in Commons Court!
Let the barn battle begin!
Unlocking Your Pasture
The requirements to start unlocking your own pasture zone are the following:
- Level 110+
- Have owned 10 pets
- Have owned 4 mounts
- Progressed to the Deep Swamp or farther
Once you meet these requirements, you'll be able to start a quest chain at Clint or the Town Crier that, once completed, will unlock your own Pasture.
Note: If you skipped the Lower Evergreen Forest zone, you will eventually need to go back and complete it to finish the Pasture quest chain.
Pasture Features
Like your other zones, you can decorate your Pasture to your hearts content and your friends can come visit!
What sets the Pasture apart from your other zones is the
Barn!
A Battered Barn
Inside the Barn is room for several
Training Pens which you can purchase. 2 pens can be bought for Gold and Gems, another 2 for Bush Bucks, and 2 more for Gold and Gems after you've upgraded your Barn.
Training Pens
Training Pens allow your Pets and Mounts to earn XP while you're away adventuring! This means, among other things, you can keep your high level pets and mounts equipped to optimize your bush whacking, while leveling other ones at the same time. This can help you raise Pets for to release at PAGAS for rarer DNA!
CAUTION: Check in on your mounts regularly if you're raising them for certain bonuses. You'll want to feed them the desired Feed (alfalfa, beans, etc.) between levels.
There are two kinds of Training Pens, ones for Pets and ones for Mounts.
To use a Training Pen:
1) Click on it to open up the Training Pen pop-up
2) Set the occupant
3) Add some Training Kibble.
It's that easy! You'll need to top up a pen's feed at least every week or so. You'll receive a notification on the bottom right if a pen is occupied and out of feed.
If you have enough Training Kibble in your inventory, clicking the "Fill" button will top up the Pen's stockpile to its maximum. Otherwise you'll see a "Buy" button that will take you to the "Ye Tutelage Paddock Supplier" to purchase more kibble.
Training Kibble
There are 2 kinds of Training Kibble you can purchase right from the Training Pen:
Training Kibble for Gold and
Nutritious Training Kibble for Bush Bucks. Nutritious Training Kibble yields
DOUBLE the XP of Training Kibble. Nutritious Training Kibble is a more efficient use of your Bush Bucks compared to buying levels at Hank the Farmhand or Clint, but you have to wait for the results.
The Training Pen popup will tell you the projected XP gains given the current amount of Kibble in the pen.
Barn Embiggening
Some time after having unlocked the Pasture you'll get the opportunity to upgrade the Barn! The requirements for upgrading the Barn are:
- Level 320+
- Have owned 50 pets
- Have owned 20 mounts
- Leveled 25+ pets to level 40 (released pets included)
- Leveled 15+ mounts to level 40 (released mounts included)
- Purchased 2 training pens
- 10 Pasture expansions
- At least a day since you unlocked the Pasture
An expanded barn has room for 2 more Training Pens and has a fresh coat of paint to boot!
Giddy Up!

FAQ
Can I place an expiring Pet or Mount into a Training Pen?
You can! It will gain XP like a normal Pet/Mount. It will automatically be removed from the Training Pen when it expires.
I cannot start the quests but meet all the requirements!
If you're unable to start the Pasture unlock quests, check your active quests in your Quest Bar/Quest Dialog for any that might involve expanding your ranch house, buying the private island, or building the cottage. Any quest chain that at some point requires Jim's lumber quest cannot be done at the same time as another. This means if you've got the house expansion, private island, or cottage quest chains active you won't be able to start the Pasture quest chain.
Will Pets and Mounts in Training Pens still get XP when I'm not logged in?
Yes. Your Pets and Mounts in Training Pens will still get XP when you're logged off or not actively playing the game, so long as they have enough Training Kibble in their pen. When you next log in to the game, the Training Pens will still count time you didn't have the game open.
