Champion Update: Brother Uriah
Posted in Idle Champions.

Brother Uriah Macawber is a native of Ravenloft, born in the dread domain of Darkon under the iron rule of Azalin Rex. After a horrifying childhood encounter at the Carnival with the demonic entity known as The Caller, Uriah would embrace the worship of the goddess Ezra, Lady of the Mists, offering protection from the forces of darkness to all those in need. Upon joining with the other future members of The Black Dice Society at the infamous House of Lament, Uriah would go on to find true love with his teammate, the undead Aasimar, Nahara... and would eventually discover the dark truth of both the nature of his deity and his mysterious connection to his former liege, the lich-king Azalin Rex.
Brother Uriah is receiving a major update arriving at the start of the second week of Dragondown, on June 10th. Lets take a look at the new-and-improved Brother Uriah!

Dragondown Event & Summer Queen Celebration!
Posted in Idle Champions.

It's the Summer Solstice in Faerûn, which means it is time for Dragondown and the Court of the Summer Queen Celebration!
While the City of Waterdeep celebrates Dragondown by burning dragon effigies to symbolize the city's victories over invading dragons, some smaller celebrations focus on ceremonial bonfires and charms, with mock-spells and chanted prayers performed as the sun sets.

But something has gone wrong in Luskan this year, where locals have drawn the ire of a Bronze Dragon and its kin...
Trixie the Pixie, a long-time antagonist to the Champions, often appearing astride a charmed creature and always up to some mischief, finally chooses the winning side and joins the Champions in today's Dragondown Event! Our second Featured Champion, Brother Uriah, will be receiving a significant update, with a new Champion Update blog coming on Friday, June 5th, before his launch next Wednesday, June 10th.

For details on Dragondown Year 9, and the Court of the Summer Queen Celebration, read on!

Introducing Trixie the Pixie
Posted in Idle Champions.

Trixie the Pixie has been a forgettable nuisance for the Champions for a long time, often appearing astride some charmed creature and always up to some mischief. Ambitious and daring, Trixie desperately grasps at a life larger than she's been given, and blames the Champions for their constant meddling in her affairs. Driven to desperation by her many failed attempts at seizing power and influence, Trixie sets out to try a new scheme. She's seen firsthand that the Champions are always hiring. If she can't beat them, she'll join them!
Trixie the Pixie is a Support, Debuff, and Control Champion who provides new options for creating formations with small (fairy, gnome, goblin, halfling, kender, kobold, and plasmoid) Champions. She increases the damage of Champions next to her, and this buff grows as you increase the number of small Champions in your formation. To help with this, she reduces the size of any non-small Champions in the two formation slots behind her and any Champions who share a species with either of them. Once unlocked, you can find this fairy druid in Seat 8 (Delina).

To learn everything you need to know about this small Champion with serious swagger, read on!

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Pixie Charge (melee) - A pixie subordinate dives in and stabs a random enemy for one hit.

Formation Abilities

  • Dancing Lights - Trixie increases the damage of adjacent Champions by 100%.
  • Small Pranks - Trixie increases the effect of Dancing Lights by 100% for each Small Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. Small Champions are fairy, gnome, goblin, halfling, kender, kobold, and plasmoid Champions.
  • Tricksy Pixie - Every time a Champion other than Trixie attacks, Trixie gains a Trick stack. When Trixie attacks, she expends all her Trick stacks to slow up to that number of random enemies by 50% for 10 seconds. If she has more Trick stacks than there are enemies, then she can use the extra stacks to stun that number of random enemies for 3 seconds. Additionally, one extra Pixie Subordinate attacks for every 5 Trick stacks expended. Trixie can not have more than 50 Trick stacks at once.
  • Debilitating Dust - If Trixie still has Trick stacks left after stunning all enemies on the screen, she uses the extra stacks to increase the damage a random enemy takes by 100% for 5 seconds. These debuffs can apply to the same enemy multiple times and stack multiplicatively.
  • Ultimate Undoing - Every time a Champion other than Trixie uses their ultimate ability, Trixie gains a Scheming stack, up to a maximum of 20 stacks. When Trixie uses her ultimate ability, she expends her Scheming stacks to increase the effect of Dancing Lights by 100% per stack, stacking multiplicatively. This buff lasts until the area is changed or until Trixie uses her ultimate again, whichever comes first.
  • Shrinking Dust - Champions in the formation slots directly behind Trixie are sprinkled with Shrinking Dust, which reduces them in size by 50% and makes them count as Small for abilities and variant restrictions that care about size. Additionally, all Champions that share a species with any Champion affected by Shrinking Dust are also sprinkled with Shrinking Dust.

Specializations

  • Faster, Friends - The damage of all Champions is increased by 100%. When a Familiar clicks on an enemy, it also reduces the Base Attack Cooldown of a random Champion other than Trixie by 0.2 seconds.
  • Ultimate Friends - The ultimate damage of all Champions is increased by 400%. When a Familiar clicks on a boss enemy, it also reduces the current Ultimate Attack Cooldown of a random Champion other than Trixie whose ultimate is on cooldown by .2 seconds.

Ultimate Ability

  • Call For Dev (melee) - Trixie flies off to get Dev the Devourer to consume the healthiest non-boss enemy, or otherwise deal an ultimate hit to a boss.

Champion Update: Binwin
Posted in Idle Champions.

Binwin Bronzebottom was a member of a rather infamous adventuring group/company, until he left to spend more time with his family. A grumpy and headstrong dwarf with a penchant for springing traps rather than disarming them, if he's not the first into battle then he's disappointed. There's nary a door, tankard, or acid pit that hasn't felt the wrath of Binwin Bronzebottom at one time or another. These days, when he's not adventuring with the likes of Drizzt and Minsc, Binwin leads a small group of incompetent and eminently replaceable minions through perilous adventures.
It has been a long time since Binwin Bronzebottom received a major update, but we hope you'll find these changes worth the wait!

Binwin has been diligently reworked to fit better into the modern Idle Champions sandbox, and he is now ready to take the lead in a full Dwarf formation... any day now.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Twin Axes (melee) - Binwin attacks the front-most enemy with his twin axes, Rook and Ruin.

Passive Abilities

  • I've Got the Crits - Binwin's base chance to Critical Hit is 20%.

Formation Abilities

  • Extra Attacks - Binwin gains a Bonus Hit when an adjacent Champion attacks. The next time he attacks, he consumes his Bonus Hits to deal additional hits to the enemy he attacks. If his target dies and Binwin still has Bonus Hits, he'll jump to a new enemy if possible. Unused Bonus Hits are lost when his attack ends. Caps at 10 stacks.
  • Extra Damage - Each subsequent hit Binwin does during the same attack deals 100% more damage, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Lingering Damage - While Binwin is your BUD-setting Champion and he attacks but does not kill an enemy, the enemy takes 100% of the damage it took over the next 5 seconds.
  • Critical Combo - When Binwin scores a critical hit, he gains an additional Bonus Hit for his current attack. This can occur up to 5 times per attack.
  • Crash and Smash - Binwin deals double hits against enemies or objects with hits-based or armored hits-based health. If Binwin attacks an armored enemy and doesn't break any armor, he gains a Resolve stack. Binwin deals 100% additional damage for each Resolve stack, stacking multiplicatively up to 10 times, resetting when changing areas.

Specializations

  • Overkill - When Binwin defeats an enemy, he gains stacks of Overkill based on how many orders of magnitude more damage he did compared to the enemy's remaining health. Binwin's damage is increased by 1% for each Overkill stack, stacking additively. Overkill stacks persist until the adventure resets.
  • Tallest in Faerûn - Binwin's damage is increased by 200% for each Dwarf, Kobold, Halfling, Gnome, or Goblin in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Dwarven Encouragement - Binwin encourages the Champions adjacent to him to attack more frequently, reducing their base attack cooldowns by 2 seconds and increasing his own damage by 100%.

Ultimate Ability

  • Barrel Roll (melee) - Binwin hops onto a sturdy wooden barrel and rides toward a single enemy, dealing damage along the way. When he reaches the targeted enemy, the barrel explodes, dealing ultimate area damage and slowing all affected enemies.

Steam Local Currency Update

Yesterday, we rolled out an update to Steam players which allows our in-game shop to show their local currencies instead of USD. Steam will now charge players in local currencies instead of a converted USD price, using Steam's standard conversion rates. With this update, local currencies are now displayed in Idle Champions across all platforms except Android, which is our next priority.

Idle Champions: June Augments Preview
Posted in Idle Champions.

Welcome to the Event Augment preview for Dragondown Year 8!

Our next event arrives on Wednesday, June 4, bringing two Featured Champions (one New Champion, one Champion Rebalance).

Event System Permanent Feature Updates

We have some exciting updates to the Event system this month! Based on your feedback, we're making several Augments permanent features so we can free up space to add even more fun tweaks in future Events. Let's dive in!
  • Boon XP and Extra Benefits (Scales of Tiamat) are now permanent features. You can find details about them here.
  • Worth the Wait is being retired as an Augment. Its core feature - rolling out the second featured Champion on Day 8 - will remain, but the tweak of tier 2+ variants providing an additional chest is going away.
The in-game FAQ has been updated to reflect these system changes, and we're excited about the additional Augment space they open up. Now let's get into the June 2025 Augments!

Dragondown 8 Event Augments

  • Augment 1: Free Rerolls (Returning Augment)
Description: You gain five free rerolls to use on each set of your Weekly Offers during this event!

  • Augment 2: Golden Weekly Offers (Returning Augment)
Description: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.

  • Augment 3: Auto Blacksmith (Returning Augment)
Description: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots if they don't already have better. Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!

  • Augment 4: Boon Enhancements (New Augment)
Description: An additional boon buff at each level increases global damage based on the number of Pigments on Champions in the formation, stacking additively.

Note: Similar to our rollout in May the spotlight blogs for the two Featured Champions will also be spread out, with Hank's tomorrow, May 30th, and Krond's releasing next Friday, June 6th.

Idle Champions: Dragondown 7
Posted in Idle Champions.

North of Neverwinter is the city of Luskan - a den of scum and villainy from all across the Sword Coast. It is not place for Champion, but Jarlaxle and the Bregan D'aerthe need your help! The Dragondown celebrations are in full swing, but you'll need to defend the city from the teeth and claws of a fearsome bronze dragon!

Dragondown 7 has arrived! It introduces Duke Ravengard, the Human Fighter from Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus! This Support Champion is ready to bolster your formations and carve a path through adventures! It also reintroduces Ezmerelda d'Avenir, the Human Fighter/Wizard, from the mists of Curse of Strahd. You can learn more about Ravengard and the rework to Ezmerelda below. Also, you can choose three of eight previous Champions to unlock over the course of Dragondown 7!

Table of Contents

Duke Ravengard

Ulder Ravengard is the leader of the Flaming Fist and the Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate. His primary concerns are the stability and prosperity of Baldur’s Gate, and he's been a voice of reason and common sense among the ruling council. In recent years, he has been a target of fiendish plots in unsuccessful attempts to take over the city.

Duke Ravengard is a Support Champion who bolsters those who also use Melee base attacks. The more melee attacks, the stronger his buffs become! His buffs are further increased in an area when any Melee Champion scores a critical hit. Once unlocked, he will bring his sword to your battle from Seat 8 opposite Delina.

Event Theme: Wyrm Slayers

Throughout the event, we release new Packs for the featured & flex Champions everyone is unlocking & gearing up. Starting with Dragondown, the skins included in these packs will now share a theme!

For this first themed DLC event, we are drawing on the event itself for the theme! Dragondown is celebrated in-world with bonfires and rituals to "tame" or "drive down" dragons. As such, our theme for Dragondown 7 is Wyrm Slayers! These are Champions decked out in dragon-themed outfits (leaning into red dragon/dracolich looks)

Dungeons & Dragons Wyrm Slayers

Starting today you can find the Duke Ravengard Wyrm Slayer Theme Pack and the Ezmerelda Wyrm Slayer Theme Pack in the in-game store. More Wyrm Slayers are coming on June 12th and June 19th.

We also have a Wyrm Slayer Celebration lined up to launch on Thursday, June 13th! From the 13th to the 20th, players will be able to log in and collect a free daily chest full of goodies - and if you claim four out of the seven daily chests, you'll also unlock Warduke and collect his Wyrm Slayer Skin for free!

"My duty is first and foremost to the city and its people."

As a lifelong soldier of the Flaming Fist and now the Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate, Ulder Ravengard has spent his whole life serving and protecting the city. He struggles to remain committed to his ideals, even as devilish creatures seek to undermine all that he has achieved.

Duke Ravengard is a Support Champion who bolsters those who also use Melee base attacks. The more melee attacks, the stronger his buffs become! Duke Ravengard has two basic attacks, the first is his normal attack and the second is when he chooses the Lead The Charge specialization.

  • Duke's Longsword - Duke Ravengard attacks the closest enemy for one hit with his longsword.
  • Duke's Longsword (after picking the Lead the Charge specialization) - Duke Ravengard attacks the closest enemy for one hit with his longsword. If he scores a critical hit, he follows-up by smashing the enemy with his shield, knocking them back a short distance.

Both effects stack up to 50 times and reset when changing areas.

Specializations

  • Lead The Charge - When Duke Ravengard gets a critical hit, he follows up by bashing the enemy with his shield, knocking it back a short distance. When this occurs, all melee Champions adjacent to Duke Ravengard have their base attack cooldowns immediately reset.

Idle Champions: Dragondown 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

At the mouth of the River Mirar in the northwest of the Sword Coast lies the port city of Luskan, also known as the City of Sails. Officially governed by the five High Captains, Luskan is actually secretly run by Jarlaxle Baenre and the Bregan D'aerthe.

And they need your help.

While celebrating the Summer Solstice with a smaller scale version of Waterdeep's Dragondown festival, Luskan has managed to draw the attention - and the wrath - of a Bronze Dragon and their kin...

Dragondown 6 introduces BBEG, the Drow Necromancer villain from Deerstalker Picture's 1 for All, and brings back Merilwen, the Wood Elf Ranger from Oxventurers Guild and Selise Astorio, Human Paladin of the Rivals of Waterdeep. Players have until Monday, June 19th at 12PM Pacific to complete their Dragondown 6 unlocks and objectives.

New Champion: BBEG

BBEG is the Big Bad Evil Guy, a Drow necromancer who believes immaculate planning will always lead to success. Unfortunately, his constant failures contradict this conviction. BBEG likes to monologue and taunt his opponents, leaving his summoned zombies to engage directly in combat.

BBEG is a support and speed Champion that chews the scenery so much he breaks through the 4th wall. As the Big Bad Evil Guy of the Awful Ones campaign, this necromancer stands back and lets his less intelligent zombie minions do the hard work. His strength lies in being able to railroad the Champions through to more exciting parts of the adventure. Once unlocked, you can find this Drow necromancer in Slot 3 opposite Nayeli.

For more information on BBEG and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

  • Herding Cats: Attempt to calm down a very angry bronze dragon and a bunch of cats. BBEG starts in the formation (Slot 5) and can be moved, but not removed. Every second, a cat spawns and moves toward a random champion. When the cat reaches the champion, they are stunned for 3 seconds because of overwhelming cuteness. The cats can't be attacked. Stunned Champions cannot attack, but their formation abilities remain enabled.
  • Reach Area 125.

  • It Was Me All Along!: Attempt to calm down a very angry bronze dragon with BBEG's favorite meat shields! BBEG starts in the formation (Slot 5) and can be moved, but not removed. You may only use Lawful Champions, Evil Champions, or Champions with a total ability score of 78 or less.
