Happy 14th Anniversary Bushwhackia!

This event starts at noon on Friday April 10th!

Your friends in the Commons event area are up to something--and they need your help!

Be warned, this post contains SPOILERS for the event! You may want to play the first couple days of the event before reading these details!

Developer Turn-in Stations

The developers of Bush Whacker 2 are running the turn-in stations. Over the course of the event, you can find Typo Reports, Bug Reports and Suggestions in the bushes to turn in for event progress. Can you flood the poor developers with enough to earn the 100% reward?

Quests

Four daily quests will help you gain progress as well, starting with the quest for Gnome parts. The developer gnome quest has been updated with 3 more gnomes. Each completion will award you a random developer gnome and there are now 49 of us to collect. Note, if you have less than 38 gnomes, you'll get 2 gnomes per turn in until you catch up.

Later on, there will be a daily quest to test your Bush Whacker knowledge with trivia questions, featuring 2 new questions! Plus the return of Linus (from Halloween) who will have a sweet reward and of course, 14 years of whacking bushes has taken its toll, so it's best if you help to replant.

Familiar friends, like Nate and Kaine, will also have quests as the event goes one.

Costume Contest

Do you have a favourite outfit from among the all the Custom Items over the years? Well, you can now show them off! Once you build the Costume Contest area, you can enter your favourite outfit and vote. New winners will be chosen daily, and will get a small treat. You can ask Alexis what your current bracket is if you're participating in the day's contest. Brackets are top 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 500+.

The Cake Isn't a Lie!

And where's that 1st cake at? Help Investigator Kaine get to the bottom of it in this year's new quest.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which developer gnomes are available?
There are now 49 developer gnomes available. You can collect one at random each time you do the Gnome Parts daily quest. Note, if this is your first time doing the event, you'll get 2 gnomes per turn in.

  • Why do I want to help Linus daily?
The more times you help him, the better your reward at the end of the event. His quest can be reset with the VIP power to reset daily quests.

  • Will this event repeat next year?
Good question! We'll tell you next year!

  • How does the Costume contest work?
You can enter the contest once per day. Once you've entered you cannot change your entry, so choose wisely. Throughout the day players can vote on other entries much like the screenshot contests from Halloween and the Spring Garden events. At midnight, the top 5 rated entries win, and a new contest begins! Winners get a unique title and an energy pack, but cannot enter the contest again for 3 days.

  • What adds to my event progress?
Doing turn-ins at the 3 stations and completing quests for the NPCs in the area.

  • How can I find the turn-in station items?
Just keep whacking bushes and critters. The Holiday Item Runes and Pets will help attract them as well or you can use a VIP Voucher or Token on the Event Drops boon.

  • Do I have to ask my friends to help with the turn-in stations?
No, you don't have to. They just allow you to gain event progress faster.

  • Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

  • Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

Champion Update: Lucius Elenasto
Posted in Idle Champions.

Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto was born to high nobility. He thought he knew what he was getting into when he joined the Heroes of Aerois, but then he met his first cow. Dreadful, evil creatures. Lucius is slowly coming out of his nobility shell as he continues to learn the true value of comradery, friendship, and a world without barriers.
Lucius has needed an update for a while now, and we're happy to finally dive in and modernize his design.

As an added surprise to this event, we've also made some small updates to how each of the other Heroes of Aerois Champions (Aila, Qillek, Sentry, and Nova) contributes stacks of Aerois Synergy!

Lets take a look at the new-and-improved Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto and the updates to his friends!

Abilities

Passive Abilities

  • Chromat Caster - Lucius alternates his attacks between two spells: Acid Splash and Ray of Frost.

Basic Attack

  • Acid Splash (magic) - Lucius attacks a random enemy with Acid Splash, dealing damage. Prefers enemies not affected by acid.
  • Ray of Frost (magic) - Lucius attacks the furthest enemy with Ray of Frost, dealing damage and also damaging all enemies along a line between him and the enemy.

Formation Abilities

  • Arcane Chromat - Acid - Enemies damaged by Acid Splash gain one stack of Acid. Each stack of Acid causes the enemy to take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' subsequent attacks, stacking multiplicatively up to 10 times.
  • Arcane Chromat - Cold - Enemies damaged by Ray of Frost are slowed by 50% for 10 seconds. Enemies slowed by this ability take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks for each slow, stun, or root affecting them (stacking multiplicatively), including this slow.
  • Elemental Adept - When an enemy is affected by both of Lucius' Arcane Chromat abilities at the same time they are stunned for 3 seconds. When the stun expires they "explode" with acid and ice, applying one stack of Acid and dealing 10 seconds of BUD-based damage to themselves and all enemies in a small radius. The exploding enemy's Arcane Chromat - Cold debuff is then consumed.
  • Aerois Synergy - Lucius contributes 2 stacks to Aerois Synergy every time Elemental Adept is triggered; if a boss enemy is combo'd it adds an additional 8 stacks (10 total). Lucius' maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 10% of his contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Lucius' base damage is increased by 50% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks, with this bonus doubling for every 100 total stacks.
  • Armor Eating Acid - Enemies with segmented health lose 1 extra segment when Lucius damages them with his Acid Splash attack or Elemental Adept explosion.

Specializations

  • Dichromancy - Lucius gains a Dichromancy stack every time the Elemental Adept ability triggers an explosion. Lucius' damage is increased by 100% for each Dichromancy stack he has, stacking multiplicatively up to 25 times. Stacks reset when changing areas.
  • Corrosion Master - Lucius attacks twice with his Acid Splash before switching to Ray of Frost. Additionally, enemies affected by at least 2 stacks of Acid take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks.
  • Lingering Chill - Lucius attacks twice with his Ray of Frost before switching to Acid Splash. When an enemy explodes and loses their Arcane Chromat - Cold debuff, they gain a Lingering Chill debuff which slows them by 25% and lasts for 20 seconds. Additionally, enemies affected by at least 2 slow effects take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks.

Ultimate Ability

  • Prismatic Spray (magic) - Eight multi-coloured rays flash from Lucius' hand in a cone shape. Each enemy in the cone takes acid/cold damage and receives both the Arcane Chromat - Acid and Arcane Chromat - Cold effects (causing them to freeze and then explode in several seconds due to Elemental Adept).

Additional Champion Updates!

As part of the exciting updates for Lucius above, we've updated his Aerois Synergy ability so that the Aerois Synergy pool only loses 10% of Lucius' contributed stacks when changing areas. Based on how that played, we decided to make the same change to the Aerois Synergy abilities for Aila, Qillek, Sentry, and Nova. With the update to Lucius on April 8th, the shared Aerois Synergy pool will only loose 10% of each of the Heroes of Aerois' contributed stacks instead of 50% when changing areas!

Aila

Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Electrified enemies take additional damage equal to 10% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Qillek

Aerois Synergy — Qillek contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy per second. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of his contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Bless is increased by 25% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Sentry

Aerois Synergy — Sentry contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy every time an enemy spawns, and for each second a boss has been alive. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Guardian of Solwynn is increased by 10% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Nova

Aerois Synergy — Nova contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy every time an enemy is stunned, rooted, or slowed. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. The Crew is increased by 20% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Idle Champions: Festival of Fools 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

After a such long and cold winter, the citizens Daggerford are eager to celebrate the Festival of Fools: a day of feasting, drinking, and general foolishness. People don brightly-colored and garish clothing, dancing in the street like court jesters and competing with one another to see who can pull off the most foolish (yet harmless) pranks.

During the festivities a concerned villager approaches the party and asks for help. She says that her husband's prank is to try and taunt a frost giant...
Festival of Fools as returned for Year 9, introducing Tasslehoff Burrfoot, everyone's favorite 'borrower' and Hero of the Lance, as well as bringing a major update to Lucius Elenasto, the Arcane Chromat!

Featured Champions

Tasslehoff

Excitable, friendly, and insatiably curious, Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a kender of no small renown. Tas is the beating heart of the Heroes of the Lance, and his knack for 'borrowing' somehow manages to solve more problems than it causes. While Tas may not see himself as a hero, he is fearless in the face of Krynn's greatest dangers, and he always comes to the aid of his friends.

Learn more about Tasslehoff in his Champion Spotlight.

Lucius

Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto was born to high nobility. He thought he knew what he was getting into when he joined the Heroes of Aerois, but then he met his first cow. Dreadful, evil creatures. Lucius is slowly coming out of his nobility shell as he continues to learn the true value of comradery, friendship, and a world without barriers.

Learn more about Lucius and the tweaks we've made to Aerois Synergy across the Heroes of Aerois affiliation in his Champion Spotlight when it releases on April 3rd.

Fuzzy Memories

We had something really important to tell you today... something about the Commons? A quest? Forgetful towns folk? It'll come to us, we're sure of it.

In the meantime, perhaps head to the Commons and see if you can figure out what's going on, because we haven't got a clue.

Idle Champions: Introducing Tasslehoff Burrfoot
Posted in Idle Champions.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a Support and Speed Champion who buffs Champions in one of the back three columns of the player's choice. His diversionary nature strengthens that column at the cost of positional formation abilities next to him, and his wanderlust further increases his support as the party remains in an area. Finally, his habit to borrow items speeds up progression in areas with quest items.

To learn everything you need to know about this kender rogue with a god as his best friend, read on!
