We're going to hell.

In search of the final piece of the Rod of Seven Parts, the Champions will venture to Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells of Baator. It's time to drive infernal war machines, rescue an arrogant unicorn, and buy your way into the VIP area of a devil's casino.

Note: You will need to have completed the previous two Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventures, Isle of Serpents and Tomb of Wayward Souls, in order to access these new adventures.

Hellbound

Travel to Avernus in search of the final rod piece.

    Quickly travel through Avernus in search of the final rod piece.
    • Every 5 minutes of real time, all enemies' health and damage are increased by 100%, stacking multiplicatively. Better go fast!

    Score big at a hellish casino to win the rod's final piece and a bunch of gold!
    • You may only use Champions with the Gold Find role.
    • Windfall joins the formation.
    • 2-3 Red Dragon Wyrmlings spawn with each wave. They drop no gold nor count toward quest progress.
    • The house always wins. Monsters drop 10% less gold (stacking multiplicatively) for every second you spend in an area.

    Vecna: Eve of Ruin Tier 4 Blessings

    Today's update also includes Tier 4 Blessings for The Wizards' Three! Note: While you can't currently recruit Windfall as of today's launch, come back next month for an exciting Vecna 8 update! (hint hint)
    • Ascent of the Archmages - Local: Increase the favor earned by converting other favors to The Wizards Three Favor by 10%
    • Heroes of Renown - Local: Increase the damage of Champions with a total ability score of 80 or higher by 100%
    • Recruit Windfall - Local: Increase the damage of all Champions by 100% and Windfall by an additional 100%
    • Apothecary Adherent - Global: Increase the damage of all Champions by 20% for each active potion, stacking multiplicatively.

    Chromatic Dragon Emergence

    Dragons have made their way into Idle Champions and are prepping their breath weapon to take you down! Defeat Dragons in any Free Play to collect Corrupted Gems that can be used in the Thayan Enclave section of the in-game shop! The Chromatic Dragon Emergence starts today and runs through Friday, May 2nd.

    Champion Update: Beadle

      Beadle may not have the strength of his best friend Grimm, but his quick wit and sharp instincts have saved the day more times than he can count. Whether managing the Giant’s Bane Tavern or outsmarting enemies, Beadle brings cunning to every adventure.

    Beadle is a cunning Support, Gold Find, and Control Champion with powerful synergies when paired with his best friend, Grimm. He boosts nearby Champions' damage, steals extra gold from enemies while stunning them, and his support scales with a specialization choice tailored to your Champions' gear.

    This month, we're taking the previously single Champion Beadle & Grimm, and moving them to different seats to create two separate Champions! Both Champions have been reworked, allowing you to now field powered-up versions of both Beadle and his buddy Grimm in your formation at the same time! There are some small housekeeping notes since this is such a unique rebalance:
    • Existing skins will be separated and credited to both Champions Beadle and Grimm (once you unlock him).
    • Equipment & Item Levels on the former Beadle and Grimm Champion will transfer to the new Beadle.
    • Most feats on Beadle & Grimm will transfer to Beadle, with the exception of Tavern Brawler and Grappler, which move to Grimm.

    Abilities

    Basic Attack

    • Magic Wand (melee/magic) - Beadle bonks a random enemy with a wand. This unleashes two magic missiles that fly out and hit two other random enemies.

    Passive Abilities

    • Inseparable - Beadle & Grimm are so inseparable that if either one qualifies for an adventure restriction based on their tags, ages, ability scores, etc., then both can be used.

    Formation Abilities

    • Brothers In Armors - If Grimm is in the formation, all of Beadle's equipment item levels are increased by Grimm's base average item level.
    • In The Shadows - Beadle increases the damage of Champions within 2 slots of himself by 400%, and enemies that hit targets affected by this have a 20% chance to miss.
    • Sticky Fingers - Whenever Beadle attacks an enemy, he causes it to immediately drop 20% of the gold it would award on death. The enemy then stops and checks its pockets, stunning it for 2 seconds. This can only occur to each enemy 5 times.
    • Share The Glory - Most positional formation abilities that affect Beadle also affect Grimm if he is in the formation. If Grimm is already affected by the same ability, Beadle instead increases the effect of In The Shadows by 800%.
    • Ultimate Tag Team - When Grimm uses his ultimate ability in the same party as Beadle, Beadle's ultimate ability goes on cooldown and he gains one Tag Team stack. For each Tag Team stack Beadle has, his ultimate cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds, and his next ultimate attack deals 200% more damage, stacking multiplicatively. Tag Team stacks cap at 10 and reset when Beadle uses his ultimate ability.

    Specializations

    • Epic Equipment - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 20% for each piece of Epic or better equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
    • Premium Gear - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 0.075% for every item level on your formation's Champions' equipment, stacking multiplicatively. Each individual Champion can contribute at most 1,800 stacks.
    • Shiniest Loot - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 30% for each piece of Shiny or Golden equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

    Ultimate Ability

    • Arcane Strike (magic) - Beadle teleports and blasts all enemies with arcane magic, dealing ultimate damage and stunning them.

    Abilities

    • Brothers In Armors - If Beadle is in the formation, all of Grimm's equipment item levels are increased by Beadle's base average item level.
    • Get Buff - Each time Grimm attacks an enemy, his base attack cooldown is reduced by 0.2 seconds and he deals 20% more damage, stacking up to 25 times. Damage bonus stacks multiplicatively, while the base attack cooldown stacks additively. Stacks reset upon changing areas unless Moving Right Along is triggered.
    • Break Their Will - Each time Grimm attacks an enemy and breaks at least one armor or segmented health, he breaks 1 more on all subsequent attacks, stacking additively up to 5 times. Stacks reset upon changing areas unless Moving Right Along is triggered.
    • Moving Right Along - If the party completes a new area within 15 seconds of entering it, Grimm's Get Buff and Break Their Will stacks do not reset upon entering the next area.
    • Barbarian's Protection - Grimm increases the health of all other Champions by 25% of his max health and any healing effect on those Champions is increased by 25%.
    • Ultimate Tag Team - When Beadle uses his ultimate ability in the same party as Grimm, Grimm's ultimate ability goes on cooldown and he gains one Tag Team stack. For each Tag Team stack Grimm has, his ultimate cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds, and his next ultimate attack deals 200% more damage, stacking multiplicatively. Tag Team stacks cap at 10 and reset when Grimm uses his ultimate ability.

    Specializations

    • Giant Hunter - Grimm gains the Hunter role, and Giants become his Favored Foe. Grimm deals 10000% more damage against his Favored Foe, and all boss enemies also count as Giants for the purposes of all abilities that care about such things.
    • Giant Taunter - Grimm taunts all enemies he attacks, causing them to switch targets and attack him. For each enemy that has attacked him in the current area, his damage is increased by 20%, stacking multiplicatively up to 100 times.
    • Giant Profits - Grimm gains the Gold Find role. Enemies that Grimm defeats drop 50% additional gold for each enemy he has defeated in the current area, stacking multiplicatively and capping at 20.

    Ultimate Ability

    • One-on-One (melee) - Grimm attacks the enemy with the most health and knocks back other enemies in a small area. In non boss areas, a Frost Giant spawns in revenge.

    Our quest to secure the Rod of Seven Parts takes us to a realm of legends: Oerth.

    From the Isle of Serpents to a famous dungeon created by an infamous lich, the Champions will face growing danger as they fight to recover the sixth piece of the Rod of Seven Parts.

    Note: You will need to have completed the previous two Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventures, The Peylon Tree and Three Moons Vault, in order to access these new adventures.

    Isle of Serpents

    Travel to Oerth and slither along with a surplus of snakes!
    • Complete Area 900

    Variant: Snakes on a Material Plane

    Travel to Oerth and slither along with a super surplus of soaring snakes!
    • Due to the debilitating snake venom, you may only use Champions with a CON of 14 or higher.
    • Whenever a Champion deals Melee damage to a flying snake enemy, or is damaged by a flying snake enemy, they are transformed into a flying snake for 5 seconds, stunning them for the duration.
    • 1-2 flying snakes spawn with each wave and move 200% faster.

    March 7th
    New Champion: Sheila  
    Posted in Idle Champions.

      Sheila is the compassionate heart of a group of young friends whisked away to the magical world of Dungeons & Dragons. She reluctantly took on the role of Thief, using her Cloak of Invisibility to move unseen. Sensitive and loyal, Sheila strives to keep her loved ones safe, especially her younger brother, Bobby. Her supportive spirit is a powerful force as they journey together in search of a way back home.
    Sheila is a Support and Debuff Champion whose kind heart supports all Good-aligned Champions in the formation. Her magical Cloak of Invisibility allows her to attack unseen, weakening enemy coordination and increasing her allies' critical hit chance and damage. She occasionally collects Potion Reagents when bosses are defeated, allowing you to brew potions. The Apothecary system will be launching on March 12! We'll have more information about it in an upcoming blog.

For each attack, increase the Critical Hit Chance of all Champions by 2% and increase their Critical Hit Damage by 10%, stacking additively up to 10 times and resetting every time you change areas.
    • Potion Reagent Scavenger - Sheila can help scavenge up to 2500 additional Potion Reagents when killing bosses. While this cap is not reached, Sheila has a 10% chance of scavenging 10 Potion Reagents each time a boss is defeated. The cap increases by 100 every day.

    • Meekly Meeting - Sheila increases the damage bonus of Kind Heart by 100% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or less, stacking multiplicatively.
    • Youthful Allies - Sheila increases the damage bonus of Kind Heart by 100% for each Champion in the formation with an age of 20 or less, stacking multiplicatively.
    • A Rosy Outlook - Sheila increases the damage bonus of Kind Heart by 100% for each Female or Non-Binary Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

    Specializations B

    • Frightening Strike - Sheila's base and ultimate attacks frighten her targets. Frightened enemies take 100% more damage from critical hits, stacking multiplicatively up to 8 times per enemy.
    • Enraging Strike - Sheila's base and ultimate attacks enrage her targets. The damage enraged enemies take increases by 15% every 2 seconds, stacking multiplicatively up to 30 times. The stacks reset when the enemy takes out their anger by attacking a Champion.
    • Confusing Strike - Sheila gains the Control role. Sheila's base and ultimate attacks confuse her targets for 3 seconds. Confused enemies are stunned, take 1000% additional damage, and face the other direction.

    • Ultimate Invisibility (melee) - Sheila turns invisible for a short while and attacks each enemy.

      Volothamp "Volo" Geddarm is a flamboyant world traveler, self-proclaimed expert, and author of such works as Volo’s Guide to Monsters. Known for his bombastic personality and flair for storytelling, Volo has a knack for turning facts into tall tales. Though he’s quick to avoid personal danger, he’s fiercely loyal to his friends — just don’t expect him to cover the tab.
    Volo is a Support Champion whose encyclopedic knowledge empowers his allies despite his tendency to overestimate his own expertise. His buffs grow stronger as you complete more collection and guide quests, while his quick thinking ensures the party can regroup when danger strikes.

    • Breaker - Champions with the Breaker role are ones with effects or mechanics that cause enemies with hits-based or armor-based health to take extra damage from some or all attacks.
    • Control - Control Champions are ones who affect the enemies in a non-damaging way, such as stunning, slowing, or reducing the damage they do.
    • Hunter - Hunter Champions are ones who have one or more favored foes and deal extra damage or grant extra effects against those enemies.

    Champion Update: Ishi  
    Posted in Idle Champions.

      Ishi Snaggletooth hails from a warren of Kobolds living in the sewers under Baldur's Gate. Always the type to be more curious than careful, she accidentally stowed away on a ship headed to Port Nyanzaru. There, she met her dear friend, the Firbolg Littlefox. Often shunned by humans, Ishi hopes to prove herself as a true hero however she can. Ishi's biggest claim to fame is the defeat of the known swordsman, Hershel Von Saberburg, and since that day, she's touted herself as a renowned duelist to anyone who'll listen to her.
    It's been a long time since Ishi joined Idle Champions, and on February 12th, 2025, she will be the lucky recipient of a new Rework set to make her a powerful component of non-human formations.

    • Winner Take All - Every day, Ishi gains 5 Duel To The Death stacks. When Ishi has an available Duel To The Death stack and gets the killing blow on a boss that drops a loot sack, there is a 5% chance that she will consume a Duel To The Death stack and claim a piece of that boss's equipment as her own, granting 6 item levels to a piece of her equipment at random. Ishi can store up to 50 Duel To The Death stacks at once.

      By wood, river, cavern, and vale, nomads of the Shaar spread the tale of Kalix the Exile. Gifted in combat from a young age, this Thri-kreen warrior amassed a collection of trophies, garnering acclaim from the others of his tribe—the Krakk't. However, the hunter was never satisfied. He dreamed of quarry none would dare. At the Hill of Memories, during the yearly gathering, Kalix attacked the emissaries of the other tribes. None could deny his prowess. For this act, he was banished and forced to wander the world, searching for purpose. Now Kalix offers his services to all who promise a worthy hunt, and woe unto any foe he marks as his prey.
    Kalix is a Support Champion who excels in formations featuring unorthodox species. This Thri-kreen harnesses his telepathic abilities to boost the damage of Champions that aren't next to him, and he's skilled at tracking down his favored foe: humanoids. Kalix also increases the damage of your active party when he is positioned in the front column of a formation, making him an invaluable resource once you have access to multiple adventuring parties.

The effect of Mindlink is increased by 100% each time this triggers, stacking multiplicatively up to 25 times and resetting when changing areas.
    • The Deadliest Prey - Humanoids are Kalix's favorite foe. All Champions deal 400% additional damage against Kalix's favored foes.

    Specializations

    • Strength in Numbers - The most represented species in your formation grant additional Ally stacks for Unorthodox Alliance (even if it is not a Standard species). In the case of a tie, Champions from all tied species grant an additional Ally stack.
    • Creative Camouflage - The maximum stacks of Chameleon Carapace are doubled, and 50% of the current stacks are not reset when you change areas.
    • One For You, One For Me - Kalix gains the Speed role and each time a monster spawns that is not his favored foe, one or more favored foes simultaneously spawn. The effect of The Deadliest Prey is also increased by 400%.

    Ultimate Ability

    • Gythka Strike (melee) - Kalix makes 5 attacks against random enemies, dealing ultimate damage and stunning them for 5 seconds due to his paralyzing poison.
