Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

Each year the citizens of Waterdeep celebrate Ahghairon's Day, honoring the first Open Lord of Waterdeep and the founder of the Lords of Waterdeep. Common folk leave violets and effigies at Ahghairon's Tower and the House of Wonder, Lords toast Ahghairon and the Watchful Order, and Guildmasters offer toasts in the name of the Lords.

For this year's festivities, the party has received an assignment from the Open Lord of Waterdeep, Laeral Silverhand and when the Open Lord calls, you must answer...

Ahghairon's Day 6 brings Lae'zel, the Githyanki fighter from Baldur's Gate 3, and brings back Voronika, the Eladrin Druid from Black Dice Society and Prudence, the Chaotic Evil Tiefling Warlock of the Oxventurer's Guild. Players have until Monday, August 28th at 12PM PDT to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

I. Lae'zel

Lae'zel is a ferocious Githyanki warrior, mighty even by the standards of her mind flayer-hunting kind. Faced with transforming into the very monster she's sworn to destroy, Lae'zel must prove herself worthy of rejoining her people – if they don't execute her first.

Lae'zel is a Support, Speed, and DPS Champion that can complete areas early when other Champions are defeating enemies. She increases the damage of Champions in her column, and her specialization choice defines what type of fighter she is. Once unlocked, you can find this Githyanki Fighter in Slot 2 opposite Celeste.

For more information on Lae'zel and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Six Variants

  • Only Champions in Lae'zel's column (including her) can deal damage.
  • Getting to know Lae'zel: Lae'zel increases the damage of all champions in her column, including herself. Place your champions to best take advantage of this!
  • Reach Area 75.

Speed Run - Help Laeral Silverhand track down a retired Open Lord while quickly defeating your foes!
  • Lae'zel starts in the formation with her Straight to the Point ability unlocked. She can't be moved or removed.
  • You may only use Champions with a base attack cooldown of 5 seconds or faster.
  • Getting to know Lae'zel: Lae'zel is impatient when facing weak foes. She'll occasionally skip the rest of an area when the enemies aren't challenging enough!
  • Reach Area 125.

Destroy the Ghaik! - Help Laeral Silverhand track down a retired Open Lord with the help of the tastiest brains.
  • Lae'zel starts in the formation with her Lethal Coordination and Aberration Hunter abilities unlocked. She can't be moved or removed.
  • You may only use Champions with an Intelligence of 13 or higher.
  • A Mind Flayer spawns with each wave. They don't drop gold nor do they count for quest progress.
  • Getting to know Lae'zel: Aberrations like Mind Flayers are Lae'zel's favored foe. Her main buff increases as more of them spawn!
  • Reach Area 175.

Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 5
Posted in Idle Champions.

It's the day before Shieldmeet and the Open Lord of Waterdeep has gone missing. Nobody has seen Laeral Silverhand in days and it is imperative that she be found before the meeting with the Masked Lords begins.

At the behest of the Blackstaff, the Champions are sent to discover what happened...

Ahghairon's Day 5 introduces and brings back Prudence, the Chaotic Evil Tiefling Warlock of the Oxventurer's Guild, and Omin Dran, CEO and founder of Acquisitions Incorporated. Players have until Monday, August 22nd at 12PM PDT to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

I. New Champion: Voronika

Dungeons & Dragons Voronika Key Art
This young Eladrin woman was raised to be the Queen of Koshmarr. What was meant to be an idyllic life took a dark turn when she was killed on the night of her wedding. But Voronika didn't let death stop her, even as she was pulled into the machinations of greater powers. Using her excellent intelligence and observational skills, as well as a lot of cunning and manipulation, she used the crown of the Raven Queen to defeat Zybilna and cause the fall of Prismeer. This action drew the mists to Voronika, and she became the new Darklord of her domain of Koshmarr.

Voronika is a Support Champion that allies with evil Champions and members of the Black Dice Society. With help from her Inner Circle Champion, she ultimately must complete three goals to claim the Crown of the Raven Queen and transform into a Darklord. For more information on Voronika and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Five Variants

  • The Fringe of Society - Help Laeral Silverhand track down a retired Open Lord with limits on which Champions can deal damage.
Voronika starts in your formation, and only Black Dice Affiliation members and Evil Champions can deal damage.
    Reach Area 75.

  • Ultimate Challenge - The search for the Open Lord continues by relying on Ultimate powers!
Voronika starts in your formation, and Champions deal no damage unless at lease one Ultimate is on cooldown.
    Reach Area 125.

  • In Search of Power - A royal escort joins the search for the Open Lord!
Voronika starts in your formation, and her base level-up cost is greatly reduced. She's joined by two Eladrin bodyguards, and additional Orc Fighters attack with each wave.
    Reach Area 175.

Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 4
Posted in Idle Champions.

Ahghairon's Day 4 introduces Prudence, the Chaotic Evil Tiefling Warlock of the Oxventurer's Guild, and brings back, Omin Dran, CEO and founder of Acquisitions Incorporated, and James Winifred Darkmagic III. Players have until Monday, August 23rd at 12PM PDT to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

I. New Champion: Prudence

Dungeons & Dragons Oxventures Prudence

There's nothing more fun than being the bad one, and this tiefling revels in her commitment to violent solutions to any problem! Abandoned as a child, Prudence grew up in a cave under the care of a hermit. But now she appreciates the companionship of her fellow Oxventure Guild members, even if they disagree on tactics and morality. She is a devoted warlock of Cthulhu and enjoys following his dark, if sometimes confusing, instructions. While her powers and abilities may be grim, her demeanor is gleeful as she disintegrates her foes!

Prudence is a DPS Champion who focuses on destroying her enemies with her Eldritch powers. When you want to add her to your formation you can swap her with Calliope (Slot 5).

II. Prudence's Stats

Race: Tiefling Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Class: Warlock Gender: Female
Age: 28

STR: 14 DEX: 12 CON: 17
INT: 15 WIS: 12 CHA: 18

Role: DPS
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt, Vajra, Strahd, Zariel
Slot: 5 (Calliope)

III. Prudence's Design

It's not often we can add such a joyfully evil Champion to our roster, and it was a delight to work with Jane Douglas to bring her bloodthirsty character to life in the game! The Oxventure crew from Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra have been playing together for several years, which gave us a wonderfully large library of adventures to draw from when creating Prudence in Idle Champions.

Prudence is focused on dealing damage and killing enemies, and the more foes she's felled the happier she becomes! Each time she kills an enemy she gains a stack of Glee, and those stacks further increase her damage. Her Specializations allow you to decrease the cooldown of either her base attack or ultimate attack, so she can get back to the slaughter even faster.

For more information on Prudence and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Four Variants

  • Spider Climb - Giant Wolf Spiders arrive in each area. These spiders drop no gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. Each time a spider is killed, a random Champion is stunned for 2 seconds. Only Champions with DEX of 12 or higher can be used.
  • Reach Area 75.

  • Gleefully Evil — Only Evil Champions can deal damage. Prudence starts in your formation and her base attack cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds.
Getting to know Prudence: Prudence finds it fun to kill enemies in front of her more squeamish good-aligned allies. Add good-aligned champions to power up her Glee stacks. If she maxes her stacks of Glee consistently, consider adding a non-good champion to give her someone who gets her jokes, increasing her max stacks and super-charging her power level!
    Reach Area 125.

  • Pure Hunger — A tentacle accompanies the formation. No one knows what it's doing, but it's freaking most of us out. Enemies move 100% faster and deal 100% additional damage. Every 25 areas, all enemies' speed and damage is increased by an additional 35%. Whenever Prudence kills an enemy, all enemies are stunned for .5 seconds.
  • Reach Area 175.

A powerful, terrifying cry pierces the battlefield, "ELDRITCH BLAST!"

Prudence is the latest Champion to join the Idle Champions roster with Ahghairon's Day! Read on to find out more about this gleefully evil warlock.

Dungeons & Dragons Prudence

Each time she kills an enemy she gains a stack of Glee, and those stacks further increases her damage. Since she enjoys showing off to both Good and non-Good aligned Champions, her Delight and Resolve abilities increases her damage and maximum number of stacks of Glee. But if her attack is not enough to destroy her target she gains a stack of Frustration, which increases her damage. That way she can make sure the next time she attacks, those Champions adjacent to her don't witness her fail at murder again!

Her Specializations allow you to decrease the cooldown of either her base attack or ultimate attack, so she can get back to the slaughter even faster. And when it's time to unleash death and destruction across the battlefield, her Ultimate Hunger of Hadar is sure to bring Prudence great joy and her enemies unknown horror!

IV. Prudence's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Eldritch Blast — A beam of crackling green shoots towards an enemy, dealing damage.

Formation Abilities

  • Glee — Prudence gains one stack of Glee each time she kills an enemy. For each stack of Glee, her damage is increased by 10%, stacking additively and capping at 10 stacks. Glee has a 25% chance to lose one stack whenever a Champion other than Prudence gets a kill.
  • Delight — Increase the damage bonus of Prudence's Glee ability by 100% for each Good aligned Champion in the formation, stacking additively and then applying multiplicatively.
  • Resolve — Increase the max stacks of Prudence's Glee by 10 for each non-Good Champion in the formation.
  • Frustration — Every time Prudence attacks an enemy but does not kill it she gains a stack of Frustration. Frustration stacks increase her damage by 200%, stacking multiplicatively. The maximum number of Frustration stacks is equal to the number of Champions adjacent to Prudence. Frustration stacks are reduced by 1 each time Prudence gets a kill.

Specializations

  • Eldritch Torrent — When Prudence attacks, there is a 50% chance that her base attack cooldown will be immediately reset.
  • She Hungers — When Prudence attacks, there is a 5% chance that her ultimate attack cooldown will be immediately reset.

Ultimate Ability

  • Hunger of Hadar — Prudence opens a gateway to the dark between the stars, a region infested with unknown horrors. An area of blackness and bitter cold appears on the ground between melee range and ranged range of enemies. Tentacles erupt out of it, pulling all enemies together.

V. Prudence’s Epic Equipment

Slot 1: Self DPS
Slot 2: Glee
Slot 3: Delight
Slot 4: Frustration
Slot 5: Ultimate Damage
Slot 6: Ultimate Cooldown
