Today we are announcing some updates coming soon to Patrons in Idle Champions! With these updates, we hope to make it easier to complete Patron Challenges while also adding new Perks for players to chase! We are also changing how Patron Currency is awarded from Patron Variants. Read on to learn more!
Patron Challenge Updates
Currently, each Patron offers 10 special Challenges a week. Starting Monday, October 16th, these tasks will be trimmed to 8 Challenges per Patron. Reward totals will be increased for each Challenge so that the amount of currency awarded will remain the same.Patron Variant Rewards Rebalance
Next, we are adjusting the Patron Currency awarded from Patron Variants in order to address systemic issues with high-end variant rewards. Starting Wednesday, October 11th, all existing Patron Variants will award Patron Currency using a different curve than before (linear instead of exponential). For example, if the goal of a Patron Variant is to reach area 800 you will receive 9,600 Patron Currency as a reward instead of 65,700.We realize this is a severe reduction in Patron Currency rewards, which is why we are giving notice ahead of time. We will not be removing any previously earned Patron Currency from players' accounts when this change takes effect. We hope it is clear why this step must be taken. In order to maintain the balance of the Patron system, a single Patron Variant completion should not award currency worth hundreds of Patron Chests. For example, the highest level Patron Variant currently awards over 4,600,000 Patron Currency, which can be used to purchase 927 Patron Chests, resulting in at least 92 epic items (and likely many more) from a single Patron Variant.
Patron Influence awarded from Patron Variants will not be affected as perk costs scale exponentially, which brings us to our final Patron update:
New Patron Perks!
We are adding Tier 10 and Tier 11 Patron Perks for all Patrons! These new perks will soak up all your available Patron Influence and then some; it won't be possible to max them all out with the currently available Patron Variants, but it will be after future releases. Local Perks- A Clever A-Range-ment: Ranged Champion Damage +2000%
- Fast Money: Gold Find +100% for each Speed Champion in the formation (multiplicative)
- That's Rich: Damage +200% when you have more than e100 gold collected
- Pricey Bonds: Gold Find +100%
Vajra
Local Perks- Enemies of Waterdeep: Damage against Abberations +2000%
- Defense of the Ancients: Damage of Champions released more than three years ago +1500%
- Perks of Power: Global Damage +1% for each Local Vajra Perk purchased
- The Best Offense: Global Damage +75% for each Tanking Champion in the formation (additively)
Strahd
Local Perks- Conqueror's Greed: Gold Find +200%
- Undead Hunter: Global Damage +3000% when at least one Undead creature is alive
- Heavy Hitters: Damage of Champions with a base attack cooldown >=6s +300%
- A Chill in the Air: Global Damage +100% when the area has a weather effect
Zariel
Local Perks- Cursed Ground: Increase damage taken by enemies that are stunned, snared, or slowed by 2500%
- Shield Wall: Increase Global Damage by 2000% when there are three or more Tank Champions in the formation
- The Goldn Halls: Increase Gold Find +100%
- Only the Strong: Damage of Champions with STR 13+ increased by +200%
