COTLI: Dev Blog: All Tier Easter Jeweled Chests

Hail Crusaders,

On Monday morning we were made aware of an issue affecting All Tier Easter Jeweled chests. From the launch of the event on Thursday until Monday at 11am PT, the All Tier Easter Jeweled chests did not have the ability to drop gear for the new Tier 5 Crusader Dr. Almquist. This issue was fixed shortly after we received the reports.

While the number of affected players was very very low, and many players who opened the chests would not have missed out on any contents at all, we feel that some compensation would be fair. Therefore, anyone who opened these chests during the time period they were bugged will receive additional free All Tier Easter Jeweled chests based on the number of these chests they opened (at a rate of 1 compensation chest for every 4 chests opened). Affected players will receive these chests the next time they reload the game or start a new objective.

We would like to extend our thanks to the players who reported this issue as soon as they noticed it.

COTLI: Nate's Candy Conundrum 5!

Demonic sweets once again threaten the Crusaders, as they hop into yet-another parallel universe beset by evil Easter candy.

Who better to help fight evil candy than a dentist? Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist is here to help bring his unique blend of buffs to your formation -- welcome to Nate's Candy Conundrum 5!

This year's event runs until Tuesday, April 21st at 12PM PDT, introducing Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist and bringing back Bridget the Painter, Biff the Magic Rabbit, Baenarall, Angel of Hope, Sisaron the Dragon Sorceress, Alan the ArchAngel, and RoboRabbit!

New Tier 5 Crusader: Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist

Dental problem got you down? Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist is here to help! This orc may be a specialist when it comes to tusks, but tusks are just overgrown teeth, right? That's totally the same thing.

Dr Almquist increases Global DPS for each Evil Crusader with his Laughing Gas, and brings Ceiling Protectors to give an overall boost to Global DPS for the formation.

When Dr. Almquist performs a Wisdom Extraction, the first boss kills in an area will drop decayed teeth, which provide a stacking Global DPS increase that persists through adventures. Topical Numbing increases the chances for these teeth to drop.

With Tusk Sharpening Dr. Almquist increases DPS every 25 levels over and including area 200, and when there are Gold Fillings, Dr. Almquist increases Gold Find for each stack of Wisdom Extraction!

New Tier 5 Objectives

  • Recruit Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist | Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist takes up a slot int he formation. There must be an equal number of Orc and non-Orc Crusaders in the formation (+/- 1).
    Reach area 400.

  • Chocolate Factory | A chocolate scientist occupies the center slot in the formation. Experimental chocolate monsters attack the formation.
    Reach area 450.

  • Easter Lilies | A lily collector occupies a slot in the formation. She gives monsters a chance to drop lilies when they are defeated. For every lily collected, she increases the DPS of all the Crusaders.
    Reach area 475.

  • Resurrection | A strange Easter Bunny occupies the center slot in the formation. The Easter Bunny spawns increasingly large waves of monsters in each area. Reach area 500.

  • Greet the Sunrise | Sun monsters attack the formation. When killed, they either buff your Gold or your DPS.
    Reach area 525.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled Easter Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop All Tier chests. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop when you go to purchase chests with real money or event currency.

COTLI: Nate's Candy Conundrum 4

Good mythical morning! Not again! Nate's devious antics have landed your Crusaders in yet another sugar-coated parallel world. Will you conquer it in time and recruit new friends? Find out as you face down the sweet fiends in Nate's Candy Conundrum 4!

The Nate's Candy Conundrum 4 event runs until Tuesday, April 30th at Noon PDT. For more information, check out the How to Play /FAQ in-game!

New Tier 4 Crusader: Bridget the Painter

That heavenly laughter you hear? That's the sound of your new friend Bridget the Painter as she makes friends with everyone in your formation and paints them with good cheer. Plus, she'll increase the DPS of the Crusaders in front of her based on how many Good Crusaders are in the formation.

Note: Bridget is a wizard with her paint brush and she knows how to use it.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their respective objectives. Alan the Archangel, RoboRabbit, Baenarall, Angel of Hope, Sisaron the Dragon Sorceress and Biff the Magic Rabbit are ready and raring to go, once you unlock them!

Five New Tier 4 Objectives!

  • Recruit Bridget the Painter | Reach area 600 with angels leading the way. Bridget takes up a slot in the formation and only Angel Crusaders will be able to deal DPS.

  • Spring is Sprung | Reach area 700 while only using the Crusaders from Nate's Candy Conundrum.

  • Chicken Rabbits | Reach area 750 while the Chicken Rabbits attack. And no, those aren't rabbits that are chicken. These tough monsters take extra time to kill, but while they're alive Chocolate Egg monsters will spawn. Chocolate Eggs drop extra gold, and always count towards quest progress when you kill them.

  • What's that Smell? | Reach area 800 with spoiled eggs. Four eggs take up spots in the formation and start out by providing good buffs to your Crusaders, but as you go deeper their rotten natures are revealed.

  • Which Came First? | Reach area 850 while solving an age-old question. Chicken and Dino monsters spawn at random. Chickens make Eggs, which make dinos, which make eggs, which make chickens, forever and ever!

Easter Event: Nate's Candy Conundrum

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail, when *blam!* Nate's reset malfunctions. Now the Crusaders are transported to a parallel universe where they are beset by demon Easter candy. It happened, alright?

Nate's Candy Conundrum Easter event introduces two brand new Crusaders who again are obtainable when you complete the first two objectives.

Alan the Archangel is kind of a big deal in certain circles. As a top level executive in his organization, he brings the big guns when it comes to his powers. Once added to your roster, you can power him up and at level 75 he'll use some of his divine power to potentially resurrect fallen Crusaders with full health while simultaneously doing 25% damage to all enemies and forcing them back.

New Crusader: Alan the Archangel

If you've ever wondered how the Easter Bunny manages to distribute all those eggs, now you know: Automation. RoboRabbit is the mechanical workhorse of the holiday season. Rated at an impressive 1,000 candy eggs per second, he's able to cover the globe with treats for kids in every garden in the world.

New Crusader: RoboRabbit

His particular skills are as unique as he is. At level 50, RoboRabbit will store up part of your DPS and then disburse it as bonus click damage when you put your clicking to the test. At level 100, he'll boost your DPS for a whopping 15 minutes, from just making one little click! Get up to 25% bonus DPS without any gear from 25 clicks, or up to 63% DPS with his Golden Epic! Just don't let him die!

There are three other objectives for the event. You need to transport all your candy haul and the 'Candy Train' is the perfect solution. However, the train takes up four slots in your formation as you battle your way to area 150.

New Objective: Candy Train

'Hurry! Hurry!' features the real Easter Bunny, who requires an escort to area 200. However, given that he's largely unemployed because of the RoboRabbit, he's somewhat impatient and will decrease your DPS by 1% for each monster killed in an area. The longer you're in the area, the more anxious he becomes up to a max debuff of 99%!

The final new objective is 'Easter Egg Hunt'. A giant egg takes over a slot in your formation and then every 25 areas another egg will appear to commandeer a slot until nearly all the slots are occupied. It'll make reaching area 250 more than a little challenging to complete.
