COTLI: The Nate Before Christmas 5!

O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree -- how angry are thy branches...!
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree -- how much you embody the rage of nature and bring the wrath of the elements down upon us all!

Once again The Nate Before Christmas blesses our doors, and this year we are visited by the rage of nature: Kris, the Enraged Elemental!

The Nate Before Christmas 5 runs until Tuesday, December 31st at 12PM PST, introducing Kris, the Enraged Elemental and bringing back Frosty the Snowman, RoboSanta, The Dark Helper, RoboRudolph, Xander the Xmas Dragon, and Wrena the Fair!

New Tier 5 Crusader: Kris, the Enraged Elemental

Kris, the Enraged Elemental brings all the buffs to the formation you've come to expect from an angry tree: they reduce damage for Crusaders the furthest from them with True North, they are able to redirect angry monsters away from them with their Decorations, and they increase party damage with Festering Foliage.

But that's not all: the Fresh Air that Kris brings increases Global DPS for each Flora Crusader in the formation, including Kris, and they are able to increase the maximum health of Crusaders with Forest Furor. Take Root prevents your DPS and Click Damage from dropping, while Winter Vigil can revive your formation once per area to save the day!

New Tier 5 Objectives

  • Recruit Kris, the Enraged Elemental | Kris, the Enraged Elemental takes up a slot in the formation. Only Flora Crusaders can do DPS.
    Reach area 400.

  • Home Alone | You can only use one Crusader in the formation.
    Reach area 450.

  • O Tannenbaum | All enemies are various tree monsters, and all bosses are various tree bosses. Enemies spawn in larger waves. Area quest requirements doubled.
    Reach area 475.

  • It's Elemental | Five different new elemental monsters spawn. Only projectile damage can kill these elementals, but all crusaders are allowed on the objective.
    Reach area 500.

  • Koliada | Two carolers take up places in formation. Sun monsters spawn randomly and either drop lots of gold or reduce your gold find.
    Reach area 525.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled Christmas Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop All Tier chests. Gear for Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 and Tier 5 Crusaders will only appear in All Tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusaders. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop when you go to purchase chests with real money or event currency.

COTLI: The Nate Before Christmas 4

Twas the Nate Before Christmas, with a chill in the air,
a new Crusader arrives — Wrena the Fair!

she's badass but friendly, joyous and caring,
she joins the Crusaders, in a holiday pairing,
from an Elvish enclave, deep in the mountains,
    she journeys outward, destination uncertain,
to fight for her people, there's no line she won't cross,
she'll slay all the monsters, just like a boss!

The end of another year approaches, and with it a brand-new badass Elven Crusader arrives to herald in the new year! Collect Wrena the Fair and the rest of The Nate Before Christmas' Crusaders before the event wraps up on New Year's Day, January 1, 2019!

The Nate Before Christmas 4 runs until January 1, 2019 at 12:00PM PT!

New Tier 4 Crusader: Wrena the Fair

Wrena the Fair is one badass mutha — but she's also really friendly, and wants to promote Elvish welfare! She's come down from the Elven enclave in the mountains, as she's heard about your band of Crusaders...

Wrena is a DPS Crusader the way we wanted Tauriel to be (we're looking at YOU, Peter Jackson). She does DPS based upon how many Crusaders are in the formation.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their respective objectives. Xander the Xmas Dragon, The Dark Helper, Robo-Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, and RoboSanta are all once again available to unlock!

New Tier 4 Objectives

  • Recruit Wrena, the Fair | Wrena takes up a slot in the formation. Only elves adjacent to Wrena do DPS. Wrena decreases Global DPS and Gold Find for each non-Elf Crusader adjacent to her. Taskmasters are disabled. Reach area 600.

  • A Very Fair Christmas | Only Elf and Angel Crusaders are available to use. The Reset ability has moved to Alan the Archangel at level 250. Reach area 700.

  • Deck the Halls | A fragile Christmas ornament takes up a slot in the formation and increases spawn speed for each monster killed. If the ornament dies, you instantly wipe the area. Additionally, angrey green Grunches spawn at random and they live for at least a second. Reach area 750.

  • Die Harder | Bruise Wallace takes up a slot in the formation. He buffs your DPS by 2000% minus 200% for every dead Crusader. Monsters also have increased health. Reach area 800.

  • Caution! Hot Chocolate! | Hot Chocolate cups spawn randomly. The first few buff your DPS for 15 seconds. If you've killed 7 on an area, all subsequent Hot Chocolates killed disable your DPS for 15 seconds. Reach area 850.

The Nate Before Christmas 2016

It's that time of year again when thoughts turn to family, presents under the Christmas tree, turkey dinners, and giant twin swords to destroy unrelenting hordes of monsters.

Today we launch The Nate Before Christmas 2016 with both the original Crusaders for new players to unlock and two new Crusaders for advanced and veteran players.

As well as the repeat event and picking up RoboSanta and Frosty the Snowman if you don't already have them, players who get through the Tier One objectives will be able to tackle the more challenging Tier Two objectives. Their reward for beating them will be two new Crusaders to add to the team in the form of The Dark Elf Helper and Robo-Rudolph.

Note: Since the new 'You've Been Naughty' objective was just added this year, players who completed this event last year will need to do it before starting the Tier Two objectives, so be sure to save up 2,500 Tokens before resetting!

This new Tier One objective will see the Crusaders beset with coal monsters. These charcoal beasts reduce your gold find to zero for as long as they are on the screen and for an additional extra second after you kill them.

For the veteran or hard-working players who have completed all the Tier One objectives, the new objectives require you to purchase the Tier Two talent Do it Again in the Talents shop.

New Tier Two Crusader: The Dark Helper

Once unlocked you can tackle the five new objectives. The first of them is 'Recruit the Dark Helper.' The Dark Helper is an elf (natch) who temporarily knocks out the front two Crusaders. For 10 seconds they'll be put to sleep and reduce their DPS and disable all their formation abilities to 1 all the way to 300.

New Tier Two Crusader: Robo-Rudolph

'Recruit Robo-Rudolph' requires you escort the malfunctioning reindeer to area 300 where he will be serviced. Until you reach the workshop, he'll short circuit and debuff three random Crusaders to zero in the formation for up to 15 seconds.

New Tier Two Objective: Presents.

The 'Presents' objective is the equivalent of Christmas morning as you anxiously eye the wrapped boxes under the Christmas tree. Is that box a pair of socks or the brand new X-Station console? When you kill the present monsters, they'll randomly buff or debuff your Crusaders all the way to area 400. You won't know what the effect will be until you take the wrapping paper off.

New Tier Two Crusader: Let It Snow.

The penultimate new objective is 'Let It Snow.' Drifts of snowflakes will accumulate on random slots in the formation. The drifts will get larger and will reduce the DPS of the affected Crusaders by 1% up to a maximum of 100%. If you can dig yourself out in time and complete the area the debuff is reset to zero. You're going to need a snow shovel to make it to area 400.

New Tier Two Crusader: Robo-Christmas.

The final new objective is 'Robo-Christmas.' Only robot and Christmas-y Crusaders are available for selection to beat area 500.

Equipment for both Tier 1 and 2 Crusaders can be found in Christmas Silver and Jeweled Chests, which you can earn from objectives or buy in the shop. However, gear for the Tier 2 Crusaders will only appear once you've unlocked the respective Crusader.

Once you have enough tickets, you'll have until December 27th at Noon PST to complete the event before the holidays will be done for another year.

New Holiday Event! The Nate Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring...apart from a horde of unrelenting monsters intent on your destruction.

The Nate Before Christmas campaign will run from today until December 29th at Noon PST. In a fit of festive enthusiasm, Nate decided to find a some holiday decorations for his house. Unfortunately, Nate was kicked out of his village for a drunken incident involving an axe and the town Christmas tree in the main square.

Now Nate finds himself and his fellow Crusaders wandering the snowy winterland searching for redemption.

RoboSanta

As luck would have it, on his travels he'll have the chance to recruit two brand new Crusaders.

RoboSanta and Frosty the Snowman will "bring the heat" to the gang of Crusaders once you complete their objectives. However, they are going to make it hard going.

RoboSanta has a bolt loose and instead of the generous, jovial Saint Nick, we get a rotund, avaricious dude who debuffs his fellow Crusader's gold generation by 20% up to a total of 80%.

Frosty, the Snowman

Frosty puts his fellow Crusaders 'on ice', literally freezing a random Crusader and debuffing their DPS by 100% every 15 seconds. He'll also chill all adjacent teammates' DPS by 20%.

The remaining two objectives are Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Milk and Cookie Run. Rudolph will lead you on a mission to find the remaining eight reindeer and leave you with four slots for Crusaders by the end of the objective.

Rudolph, the Rednose Reindeer

In Milk and Cookie Run, you have to help Santa complete his present deliveries within 60 minutes. However, every 25 areas you'll gain more energy in the form of the "Milk and Cookies" buff that will accelerate monster spawn speeds for a few minutes.

Happy Holidays one and all!
