We don't just love making games, we also love playing them. We look forward to Extra Life every year, but 2023 is extra special special: Codename Entertainment will be participating in our TENTH year of fundraising for BC Children's Hospital!

Welcome Back, Extra Life!

Since 2008, Extra Life has raised over $130 Million USD for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The money raised is donated as unrestricted funds for hospitals to use as needed. And how does Codename Entertainment help raise that money? By doing what our community loves to do already: playing games together!

We are excited to announce our collaboration with Todd Stashwick for the Boom Boom the Tavernkeep Charity Familiar! Releasing on October 16th at 9 am Pacific, all net proceeds for the first week of Boom Boom sales will be donated to Extra Life!

Boom Boom the Tavernkeep

As soon as Todd Stashwick was approached about making a charity familiar for Idle Champions he knew who he wanted to make. In real life, Boom Boom had a name before the Stashwicks even adopted him. Knowing one day they would get a new dog, they started referring to their future pet as Boom Boom. Now, Boom Boom comes to Idle Champions as a barkeep who doesn't have time for problems in his tavern! For those unfamiliar with Todd Stashwick, he is known for his numerous acting roles and star power, as well as several D&D charity games. Fans of the Black Dice Society will recognize him as Rudolph van Richten towards the end of the series.

Together our goal is to raise money for Extra Life, which is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. Help them continue their efforts this year by purchasing Boom Boom and by visiting their site right now!

Boom Boom the Tavernkeep Familiar will be available in-game starting on Monday, October 16th, 2023 at 9 am Pacific! Afterward, all net proceeds from the first week of Boom Boom sales will be donated to Extra Life.

We're also doing our annual 24-hour livestream! Starting Friday, October 20th at 9 am Pacific we will be streaming for 24 hours straight. It's hard to believe that it's that time of the year again with how this year has flown by, but it's already time for Codename Entertainment Extra Life 2021! We're excited to bring back our day of streaming after a year of hiatus! We are also absolutely thrilled to say that this is our eighth year fundraising for Extra Life!

For those who may not know, Extra Life is a wonderful program set up to raise donations for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The money raised is donated as unrestricted funds for hospitals to use as needed. But the best part? We can help by doing what we love to do: gaming!

What's the Plan for 2021?

Last year we had to cancel our in-person ExtraLife festivities at the very last minute due to changing COVID restrictions. However, we were thrilled that we still managed to raise over $20,000 CAD for BC Children's Hospital in 2020.

We're hoping to do better in 2021!

This year we are delighted to bring back our 24-hour ExtraLife Stream. Starting at 9 AM Pacific Time (PT) on Friday, November 19th until 9 AM PT on Saturday, November 20th, we are excited to offer a jam-packed schedule of game programming. We've got shows based on Dungeons & Dragons, Dark Souls Speedruns, Beat Saber, Dalgona Challenge, Phasmaphobia, and much more. We will have both virtual and CNE HQ-based streams, and you can check out our full streaming schedule on the Codename Entertainment Extra Life Page. You can also donate in-game by purchasing our Extra Life 2021 DLC packs, or directly through the Extra Life pages for any of our currently-supported games. The Champions find themselves in turmoil. The newer Champions are mounting a grumbling mutiny after many adventures of following silently behind the core group. They feel it's time for them to take charge. Perhaps then, we can make some progress!

As it turns out, we have a perfect opportunity for them to show off their leadership skills. We come across a forest town besieged by kobolds, with a mystery surrounding goblins and some enchanted apples. Kobolds, goblins, and a sunken citadel, Oh my! It's time to split the party!

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Grand Tour Adventures, Who Lurks in Lurkwood and Orcs are Wild, in order to access these new Adventures.

Begun, Our Extra Life Charity Drive Has...

We're super excited to launch our 2019 Extra Life charity drive! We've added a new DLC pack for Celeste to the store. Codename Entertainment will be donating the net proceeds of all sales of the Healer of Toril Celeste Skin & Feat pack through November 27th to Extra Life! New Updates

We've added 3 new Quality of Life updates into the build today:

• Formation saves will now also save your placed familiars!

• The character sheets on PC & mobile have been updated with two toggle options, the first one allows you to see upcoming upgrades, so you can have more information when you're at your wall!

• The second character sheet toggle combines upgrades, allowing you to see your Champions' progress towards their level cap. You'll now know how many more upgrades of each type remain before you reach your level cap!

The Sunless Citadel

The Champions find a mystery that requires them to split the party. We'll see the first half of the adventure from the point of view of the Evergreen Champions. The Sunless Citadel is our first base adventure with restrictions: You can only use Evergreen Champions (The Core 12 + Drizzt, Azaka, and Hitch).

• Variant: Veteran Brigade — Continuing the restriction from the base adventure, only Evergreen Champions can be used in this variant. Jot, the quasit joins your formation in area 23 onward. Additionally, each boss has 50 points of armored health. These are the veterans, after all.
  Reach Area 325.

Meepo's Quest

The Champions find a mystery that requires them to split the party. We'll see the other half of the adventure from the point of view of the Event Champions. Meepo's Quest also has a restriction for the base adventure: You can only use Event Champions.

• Variant: She's Harmless! — Continuing the restriction from the base adventure, only Event Champions can be used in this variant. Meepo, the kobold joins your formation in area 21 onward. Additionally, because we all know we're not going to return Meepo's 'pet', Champion damage is reduced by 25% for each 'good' Champion in the formation. . These are the veterans, after all..
  Reach Area 325.
