Idle Champions: Dragon Heist, Part 5

The Champions are on the hunt for Nihiloor, a Mind Flayer in service to The Xanathar Guild. They entered the sewers of Waterdeep in pursuit only to become lost in the labyrinth of tunnels while searching for Skullport.

Unfortunately for the Champions, they've stumbled into Undermountain, the dungeon of the mad mage Halaster Blackcloak...

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Dragon Heist Adventures, Nimble Escape and Fugitives, in order to access these new Adventures.

Hopelessly Lost

After following their quarry into Waterdeep's sewers, the Champions have become lost in Undermountain. It's going to take everything they have to try and find their way back out again!
  • Variant: Bazaar Exploits — Two Goblins accompany the Champions, taking up spots in the formation. Every 25 Areas the two Goblins change their location. While attacking Xanathar Guild enemies, Champions' damage is increased.

Enter the Sargauth

The Champions are on the hunt, looking for a way to Skullport - after all, they have a stone to find - but something else is already on the hunt for them...
  • Variant: Elder Rune Madness — Each time you enter the portal, a different Elder Rune takes effect for the next 50 Areas. These Elder Runes vary in effects from Champions taking damage whenever monsters spawn to random debuffs, monsters dropping less gold, and Champions being unable to regain hit points or gain shields. Good luck!

Idle Champions: Dragon Heist, Part 4

The chase is on! After discovering that a Nimblewright set off the explosion in Trollskull Alley, the Champions are on the hunt for the construct and its prize.

Soon the Champions find themselves in the middle of a conflict between competing factions — and lured into a trap set by their enemies...

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Dragon Heist Adventures, Trollskull Manor and Attack on the Manor, in order to access these new Adventures.

Nimble Escape

Following a lead on the Nimblewright, the Champions enter Gralhund Villa and run head first into a slew of enemies.
  • Variant: Nimblest Escape — Only Champions with a Dexterity (DEX) score of 14 or higher may be used.

Fugitives

The Nimblewright is on the run, and the Champions are in pursuit — but other interested parties are hot on their trail!
  • Variant: From The Shadows — Only Champions with ranged or magic attacks can be used.

Idle Champions: New Campaign Variants

Just in time for the holidays, we have an update featuring new challenging variants for adventures in the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast and Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaigns!

From a variant for the strongest Champions to an adventure for the elite group Force Grey, there's a little something for everyone with these seven(!) new variants!

Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Variants

  • Escort to Waterdeep: The Long Haul — Only Champions with a Strength score of 14 or higher may be used.

  • Waterdeep Detours: Rude Welcome — Additional citizen 'monsters' attack the party with each wave: Butcher, Baker, and Candlestick Maker, each with their own unique abilities.

  • Underdeep Cartography: Expert Opinion — Volothamp Geddarm takes up a slot in the formation, reducing the damage of adjacent Champions.

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Variants

  • A Mysterious Summons: Force Grey Unleashed — You begin the adventure with Calliope in your formation. Only Champions affiliated with Force Grey may be used.

  • Building Trust: Sleuth it Out — Only Champions with an Intelligence score of 12 or higher may be used.

  • A Dinner Party: Modron Assistance — Nordom the Modron joins you on this adventure, taking up a slot in your formation. Nordom is reminding the waterdhavians of the Great Modron March, inspiring them to defend Waterdeep. Damage caused by humanoid monsters in this adventure is increased.

  • A Botched Kidnapping: Domesticated Owlbears — A crazed Owlbear attacks the party in each area, stunning a random Champion.

Idle Champions: Dragon Heist, Part 3

After thwarting a pair of plots to kidnap and kill lords of Waterdeep, the Champions are presented with a new challenge: homeownership!

The scholar Volothamp Geddarm has gifted the party with the title to Trollskull Manor, an aging estate located in Trollskull Alley in the North Ward of Waterdeep.

What Volo neglected to mention, however, is that the manor itself is already occupied...

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Dragon Heist Adventures, A Dinner Party and A Botched Kidnapping, in order to access these new Adventures.

Trollskull Manor

The Champions have been given the title to a house in Trollskull Alley, the aptly-named Trollskull Manor. However, it looks like some unwanted guests have taken up residence inside — time to kick them out!
  • Variant: The Gargoyle's Apprentice — All the activity within Trollskull Manor has activated a long forgotten spell cast by one of Ulkoria's students, awakening her cleaning objects to help prep the manor for residents again!

Attack on the Manor

After the Champions finish cleaning up their new base of operations, an explosion in Trollskull Alley brings chaos right to their doorstep.
  • Variant: The Trepidatious Trio — Nat, Squiddly, and Jenks tag along to help the Champions. They take up three slots in the formation and do no damage.

Idle Champions: Dragon Heist, Part 2

A plot as been uncovered to murder one of the Masked Lords of Waterdeep, and the Blackstaff of Waterdeep wants the Champions to help protect a key Person of Interest: a retired adventurer and philanthropist named Mirt.

Today marks the second story update for our Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaign, but that's not all: we're also including additional Torm's, Kelemvor's, and Helm's Blessings!

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Dragon Heist Adventures, A Mysterious Summons and Building Trust, in order to access these new Adventures.

A Dinner Party

The party returns to Waterdeep at the behest of Vajra Safahr, Blackstaff of Waterdeep. It seems there is a plot to murder one of the hidden lords of Waterdeep, but she doesn't know which one. She has activated every tool at her disposal, and assigns the party to protect Mirt, the moneylender...
  • Variant: Chatty Nobles — Only Champions with a Charisma score of 14 or higher can be used.

A Botched Kidnapping

Trying to relax in the renowned Yawning Portal isn't working out too well for the party. Not only is your group too big to find a table, Volothamp Geddarm starts to chat you up and won't shut up about his newest tome, Volo's Guide to Monsters. Your drinks and conversation are suddenly interrupted a troll erupts out of the well!
  • Variant: Haaave you met Asmodeus? — Two Cultists of Asmodeus take up slots in the formation, proselytizing on behalf of Asmodeus, the Lord of the Nine Hells. They do little to help you, and to add insult to injury, Xanathar & Zhentarim foes are upset that you have "aligned" yourself with the cult. They now deal four times as much damage and have four times as much health!

  • New Blessings of Torm, Kelemvor, and Helm have been added to the game — we hope you've been farming lots of Divine Favor!

Idle Champions: Introducing Dragon Heist

The Blackstaff of Waterdeep, Vajra Safahr, has summoned you to Waterdeep. Upon arrival in the city, the party is quickly caught in a web of Waterdhavian intrigue, including a street war between Zhentarim mercenaries and the Xanathar guild, and a dinner meeting with the Open Lord of Waterdeep...

Hot on the heels of the campaign announcement at the Stream of Many Eyes, we are excited to offer our fans the first opportunity to experience content from Waterdeep: Dragon Heist!

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is the third permanent campaign for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. This update includes the first two new adventures for this ongoing campaign, A Mysterious Summons and Building Trust, each with one challenging variant. The City of Splendor awaits!

Note: you will need to complete at least 15 adventures in other campaigns in order to unlock the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaign.

A Mysterious Summons

The Blackstaff of Waterdeep, Vajra Safahr, has tasked Force Grey – and, by extension, the party – with patrolling the Dock Ward of Waterdeep.
  • Variant: Street War — When the party kills Zhentarim mercenaries, Xanathar mercenaries get stronger while Zhentarim become weaker, and vice-versa.

Building Trust

While being introduced to Laeral Silverhand, the Open Lord of Waterdeep, the dinner party is crashed by Zhentarim mercenaries.
  • Variant: Wisdom Check — Champion damage is increased or decreased based on their Wisdom. Scores of 10 or higher see a damage increase in damage while scores below 10 see a decrease in damage.

Features:

  • Added the new Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaign, our third permanent campaign, with two starting adventures: A Mysterious Summons and Building Trust, each with one variant.
