The Haunted Mansion Has Materialized!

Who doesn't love a good haunted mansion? Well, that's what Halloween in Bushwhackia is all about! But to decorate your very own, you need to do what you do best! Go out into the world and whack bushes to find Pumpkins. Once you have found a patch of pumpkins, you can buy decorations from Glenda outside the mansion, or from the "Store" button while you're in Build Mode inside. Once you feel you've got enough, start laying out your design inside. (You can also purchase the same decorations for Bush Bucks from the Cop in the event area.)

You do not have to place all your collected decorations on display in the Mansion in order for them to count towards "Halloween Collector," they will count so long as they are within your haunted house inventory.

The goal is to scare the 8 children standing in front of the house, all of varying levels of bravery. The more you scare them, the more candy you'll earn in return. And you're going to want that candy so you can trade it for the custom items at the event store! You can try scaring them every 20 hours after you scared them the first time.

Glenda the Good Witch isn't just for buying decorations with Pumpkins. You will also be getting several quests from her throughout the event for special interactive decorations. As you complete each of her four quests, you can request help from your friends* by talking to the Construction Worker to increase the decoration's scariness.

The Haunted Mansion Photo Contest

The Haunted Mansion Photo Contest will be starting on Wednesday October 26th You'll need 300 mansion spookiness before you can submit a screenshot, and at least 10 items placed in your mansion.

In case you're wanting to keep your decorations secret until it's finished, you can now prevent or allow friends from visiting your mansion by talking to the contest NPC and selecting either "Don't let anyone visit my mansion!" or "Allow friends to visit my mansion!" respectively.

Gotta Collect them all!

What can possibly make your house scarier? How about some Creatures which wander around your mansion! Each creature will become available for a set amount of dates which you can then request from friends* by talking to the the Cop.

Candy! Candy! Candy!

To buy the custom items, you need your Candy! Not only do you get it from scaring those insolent little kiddies, you also net some from completing the various quests given to you by the Halloween NPCs hanging out in the event area!

Plus from Sunday October 31st until the end of the event, you can hunt down denizens of Bushwhackia and Trick-or-Treat with them for Candy goodness! There will be a spooky character standing in front of a pile of Candy in each of the major areas! NPCs have been added up to the Prismatic Passage region!

Not ready to show off your Haunted Mansion to friends? Prevent or allow friends from visiting your mansion by talking to the contest NPC and selecting either "Don't let anyone visit my mansion!" or "Allow friends to visit my mansion!" respectively.

• How can I find the Pumpkins?
  Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.


• How do I decorate my Mansion?
  You need to whack up Pumpkins. You can buy decorations from Glenda in the event area, or from the Store when you're in Build mode inside the Mansion. Once you have decorations, you can place them like you're decorating your ranch using Build mode.


• How do I scare the Kids?
  Just keep buying decorations and getting friends to up the scare level of your interactive decorations. As your event progress increases, you will scare the kids more and more. As well, when you reach a certain level of scariness, the kids will elect to no longer tour your house.


• Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the Kids?
  No, the kids do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.


• What adds to my event progress?
  Making your mansion as scary as possible by buying decorations (but you don't have to place them all.)


• Do I have to do the achievements?
  No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.


• Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
  Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

The local Liars' Night festivities at the Wayside Inn were interrupted by a masked thief! They stole magical items and escaped, and now it's up to the Champions to stop them!

Liars' Night 6 introduces Kent, the Tiefling Rogue from Rivals of Waterdeep! This event also brings back Brig Hellclaw, the Rogue/Bard played by Jason Charles Miller, and Ezmerelda d'Avenir, a prolific vampire hunter from the land of Barovia! Players have until Monday, October 31st at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Liars' Night 6 unlocks and objectives.

New Champion: Kent

Kent is a former archaeologist turned adventurer whose Rogue skills and powers over death were honed by spending months making his way through the temple of Talona, where the rest of his archaeological research team was killed by traps and monsters. When he finally returned home to the lakeside town of Caradoon, he was the same outgoing, flamboyant Tiefling he had always been, but now it seemed to mask a darkness that Kent has since done his best to keep hidden. Fortunately for him, he doesn't have to bear the darkness alone, because not long after his return to Caradoon, he met smart, capable, and patient Aasimar named Virgil. Together they met up with Selise from the Rivals, and joined her and the rest of the crew in Waterdeep.

Kent is a support and DPS Champion who collects soul trinkets representing the highest level boss defeated in each campaign, which he uses to buff himself and Champions in his column. In addition, he increases the effectiveness of your achievement bonuses for the adventure he is on. Once unlocked, you can find this tiefling rogue with Jarlaxle in Slot 4.

Year Six Variants

• Bossing Around - Chase down a masked man while fighting tougher bosses. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. There's an additional wave of enemies in each boss area, and the bosses have 3 times the health and deal 3 times the damage!
  Complete Area 75.


• Quick and Quick-Witted - Chase down a masked man with your quickest champions. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. You can only use Champions with a Dexterity and Charisma of 13 or higher, or members of the Rivals of Waterdeep!
  Reach Area 125.


• The Poisoned Rat Incident - Chase down a masked man while fighting a bunch of giant rats. Kent begins in the formation and can be moved but not removed. Each wave spawns Giant Rats that don't drop gold or count toward quest progress. The first time an enemy is hit by a normal attack, they only take 1 point of damage.
  Reach Area 175.

We've made some updates to the Trials of Mount Tiamat, our co-operative multiplayer campaign, in order to make things more balanced and fair for everyone playing. Check out the details below, and remember you can always see all the information in the game!

Features:

• The cost of each Trials of Mount Tiamat campaign is now paid by all members who join a trial. The cost of different difficulties has been adjusted accordingly.
• 25% of the cost to start a Trials of Mount Tiamat campaign will be refunded if the trial is failed, a minimum of 1 vial is refunded. A prismatic vial will be refunded if used.
• A new checkbox to automatically start the campaign when all 5 trials have been selected by players has been added. This setting defaults to on for all new campaigns but can but toggled off if the host needs tighter control.
• Players who contribute 0 DPS to a campaign that lasts longer than 3 days will no longer gain access to the next difficulty of Trials of Mount Tiamat.
• If you fail to complete the Area Goal for any day in the campaign, your Area Goal will remain the same for the next day and your daily restriction will be rerolled. This is to prevent unlucky rolls for early days making the campaign contribution somewhat impossible.
• Additional notifications pop up to remind you to contribute to your active trial if you haven't for the current day.

Balance Changes:

• Tiamat's Health at some difficulties has been adjusted.
• Area goals and bonus dps for some difficulties have been adjusted.
• Restrictions relating to only using certain types of champions have been adjusted to remove a similar number of champions for each different stat.
• Restrictions relating to Neutral alignment have been split into separate ones for the the Good/Evil and Lawful/Chaotic axes.
• The max scales you can get from defeating Tiamat has been increased.
• The vials found in Glory of Bahamut chests have been improved.

III. Kent's Design

Eugenio Vargas is a New York City based singer, actor, and music director who has extensive experience both on and behind the stage. With a love of performing and gaming, he's become well known in the TTRPG industry for his amazing work, including as the DM and producer for The Last Refuge podcast, the Storyteller for Into the Mother Lands, and a writer and designer on many D&D products including Fizban's Treasury of Dragons for Wizards of the Coast. He is already well known to the Idle Champions community for his work on A Familiar Quest and The Pear Passage charity one shot, so we're very excited to bring his Rivals of Waterdeep character to the game!

Kent is all about making the formation more effective by celebrating your previous achievements. As you defeat bosses across all our Campaigns, Kent collects Tokens of the Departed, and increases the damage of himself and all Champions in his column. The more powerful the boss, the higher the damage bonus! He'll also make all the Champions more powerful by adding a bit EXTRA! using your current Achievement bonus. With a wealth of experiences to draw from, Kent is an adept at attacking nearby enemies with his Rapier, and Remembering the Old Days helps makes his attacks even more effective. But this rogue doesn't have to go it alone! After Virgil's release, you'll find that the two of them are Inseparable and where one goes, the other can follow.

If the formation is filled with his fellow Rivals of Waterdeep, Kent can specialize in increasing the attack bonus of Tokens of the Departed for each of those Robust Rivals. Or he can focus on his Potent Poison to add poison damage to all of his attacks. When Kent gets serious about defeating enemies, he calls on the Wails from the Grave to change the weather to an eerie fog, and call on ghostly spirits to help Kent deal some Ultimate damage!

IV. Kent's Abilities

Basic Attack

• Rapier - Kent strikes the closest enemy with his rapier.

Formation Abilities

• Tokens of the Departed - Kent keeps a soul trinket of the highest level boss defeated in each campaign and the best event where he was present at the bosses' defeat. Kent increases the damage of all Champions in his column (including himself) by 10% times the sum of all levels from his soul trinkets.

• Remembering the Old Days - Each time Kent or the ghostly spirit from his Ultimate attacks, he gains a Nostalgia stack that lasts until entering a new area. Kent increases his damage by +50% for each Nostalgia stack, stacking multiplicatively and then applied multiplicatively. Buffs are applied to the post stack value, and Nostalgia stacks are capped at 25 stacks.

• EXTRA! - Kent's force of personality emboldens his companions. Kent increases the damage of all Champions by your current Achievement bonus.

• Inseparable - If Virgil qualifies for an adventure restriction based on his tags, age, ability scores, etc., Kent may be used as well. Note: this won't be enabled until after Virgil's release!

Specializations

• Robust Rivals - Kent increases the attack bonus of Tokens of the Departed by +100% for each Rivals of Waterdeep Champion, stacking multiplicatively and applied multiplicatively.

• Potent Poison - Whenever Kent attacks an enemy and doesn't kill it, it is affected by a virulent poison. The poison deals 400% of your BUD to the enemy each second for 4 seconds.

Ultimate Ability

• Wails from the Grave - For 30 seconds, when Kent makes a normal attack, a ghostly spirit briefly appears and makes an attack dealing ultimate damage, on another random enemy if possible. Additionally, the weather changes to fog.

This week's update brings two new adventures and adventure variants to our Light of Xaryxis campaign. It's time to get back into Wildspace!

Who Lurks Below?

Set sail into Wildspace while you determine what's making those sounds below decks.

• Variant: Clowning Around - We've set sail, but now we're under assault from space clowns!
  • Space Clowns appear in each area. They do not drop gold, nor do they count toward quest progress.
  • Every five seconds, a giant cream pie falls from the sky and hits a random Champion, dealing 25% of their health in damage and stunning them for ten seconds.
  • Complete area 350

Xanathaaaaaaar!

Investigate a trading post nestled in an asteroid while you try to secure a new spelljamming helm!

• Adventure Variant: A Whale of a Time - Keep investigating the trading post, but now with a Kindori ally!
  • An Adolescent Kindori joins the formation. They're so big they take up three spots in your formation, but don't do much else.
  • Only Champions with a WIS score of 13 or higher can be used.
  • Complete area 400

We are excited to announce the return of Idle Champions Presents, a TTRPG live play special event series starting Monday, October 17th! All six episodes of Idle Champions Presents: Hunger of the Far Realm will broadcast live from 4PM until 7PM Pacific Time Mondays on the CNEGames Twitch. Vote for the Show You Want to See

Just like with our previous Idle Champions Presents campaigns, Idle Champions players will be able to influence the characters and events of upcoming Idle Champions Presents episodes through in-game daily votes. Starting on Tuesday October 11th at 12 PM Pacific, each vote will go live for 24 hours, with the final vote for the week ending on Monday at 12 PM Pacific.

• Can I have a quick overview? Each day, a new vote will become available within Idle Champions. The result of that vote will influence a tabletop D&D episode that airs the following Monday. Vote each day to get a reward token to spend on any of the daily rewards throughout the seven-week event!

• Wait, so this is a Livestream thing? It's an everything thing! Daily votes will have both an in-game effect and a livestream effect. For example, suppose players vote for an environmental hazard for the Champions to encounter. In that case, you'll be able to see the results of that vote in the livestream episode the following Monday. Additionally, you'll be able to collect a reward token you can redeem for a reward of your choice by participating in the vote that day!

• Do I have to watch the Twitch Livestream to participate? No, all you have to do is play Idle Champions and vote to participate. In addition to helping craft an unforgettable show, by voting you collect reward tokens you can redeem to collect chests, potions, contracts, and even an exclusive familiar. However, for those that watch the show live, there will be giveaways for in-game items!

• How long are votes available? Votes are available for 24 hours: From 12PM Pacific to 12PM Pacific the following day every Tuesday through Sunday. After that, the next vote becomes available and the results of the previous day's vote are locked and become public. On Mondays, since we don't want to give away any spoilers for the next episode, there will be no active vote from 12PM Pacific until the end of that evening's episode. Once the episode airs, the next vote becomes available, with players who are active in-game at that time getting a first shot at the vote, and the new week's rewards!

• How does voting work? You get only one vote per day, so make it count! When you vote, you'll gain a reward token you can redeem to immediately collect ANY of the daily rewards that have been revealed. If you collect 3 of the daily rewards within any week, you can collect the super-sweet weekly reward for free, no additional reward token needed! Important Note: You must log into the game and vote to collect a reward token before the vote closes at 12pm Pacific. Make sure you come back every day so you don't miss a token!

• What are the rules for reward tokens? A reward token collected on Week 1: Day 1 is the same as a reward token collected on Week 5: Day 6. You can spend those tokens on ANY of the daily rewards in ANY of the weeks.

• Where are the rewards listed? You can find the available reward tab on the bottom of the left column for each week. Each week has a unique list of items, and each item is available once within each week.

• When are the other daily/weekly rewards revealed? The first vote for the next week will be revealed on Monday nights at the end of each episode, along with the daily/weekly rewards for that week.

Poe & Cilia

• I can't see all the rewards. How can I choose? Daily rewards each week will be a mix of Chests & other consumables. Each daily reward is collected with a single reward token. From a weekly reward standpoint:
  • Week 1 is an exclusive familiar: Poe & Cilia.
  • Week 2 is a Potion of Psychomorphic Energy.
  • Week 3 is a Potion of the Gem Hunter.
  • Week 4 is 1000 Modron Component Pieces.
  • Week 5 is a Potion of the Gold Hunter.
  • Week 6 is a Potion of Polish.
  To collect a weekly reward, you only have to collect 3 of the daily rewards for that week. Collecting a weekly reward will not cost a reward token. Every day you vote allows you to collect an additional reward token!

• Can I vote for both choices? No. You can only vote once a day.

• How many votes can I get each week? There will be 6 votes each week, and you can vote once for each vote. That means someone who is logging in and voting every day can collect 6 reward tokens each week.

• How long do I have to redeem a reward token? Rewards will be available for the duration of the Idle Champions Presents event. The notification will turn off at 11:59 AM Pacific on November 23rd, so we suggest collecting all of your rewards before then. Any remaining reward tokens will go away at the close of the Idle Champions Presents event.

• Do you have to vote to collect a reward token? Yes.

• Where can I watch Idle Champions Presents episodes? Idle Champions Presents broadcasts for 6 episodes, starting on Monday, October 17th and ending on Monday, November 21st. All episodes start at 4PM Pacific on the Codename Entertainment twitch channel. If you miss the livestream you can watch the video on demand on Twitch, or soon after the broadcast on our YouTube channel.

A Garden For Butterflies

The butterflies are out there somewhere, and this weekend's visitor is looking to attract them to the event area! This is their fifth visit, so complete their tasks and get another one of their butterfly companions!

Updates

There are two new butterflies to collect this year via Rare Flowers! This makes for a total of 7 companion options if you can attract them all to the event area in time.

Plus, if you've missed any of the past runs of this quest, or cannot wait for another butterfly companion, you can spend 150 Bush Bucks to unlock the choice of another, including the other quest rewards! You can only do this till you have 6 of these butterflies.

This quest will run for a day longer than it has in the past, to give folks more time to collect Rare Flowers and unlock more species.

Butterfly Gardening

Head to the event area in the Commons to get started. Attract different species to the event area in two ways:
1 - Help Harrow in the event area with her quests, unlocking at Noon PST (UTC-8) on Saturday and Sunday. There are 2 species to unlock this way.
2 - Collect Rare Flowers! You can do this after completing Harrow's first quest, available on Friday. There are 5 species to unlock this way, which will be much more challenging to get!

At the end of this colourful quest, you'll get to choose a butterfly companion from the different species you attract.

You have until noon on Tuesday October 11th to attract as many as you can, and you'll have until noon on Wednesday October 12th to choose one as a companion. Good luck!
