Idle Champions: Season 4 Overview
Posted in Idle Champions.

Season 4 focuses on five famous and infamous Champions from the history of Mithral Hall: Regis (Seat 2), Artemis (Seat 3), Pwent (Seat 5), Catti-brie (Seat 7), and Wulfgar (Seat 10).

The focus of Season 4 is to add synergy with the new Critical Hit system:
All Champions and monsters now have a chance to critically hit with their attacks, dealing 100% additional damage when they score a Critical Hit. The base chance for a Critical Hit for all Champions & enemies is 2.5%, with some Champions gaining base abilities and/or feats to increase that chance further. Some Champions have formation abilities that trigger when they or other Champions score a Critical Hit. Some Champions have abilities that trigger when an enemy scores a Critical Hit on a Champion.

In addition to the core Season Champions (Regis, Artemis, Pwent, Catti-brie, and Wulfgar), Bruenor, Drizzt, and Jarlaxle received some minor updates to align with the changes. Read below to learn more about these Champions and the details you need to know about Season 4!

The changes outlined below will roll out on Wednesday, June 14th, along with the preview for Season 4: Legends of Mithral Hall. Season 4 officially begins on June 21st, 2023.

Table of Contents

Season 4: Legends of Mithral Hall

Champion Overview

Regis (Seat 2)

Regis
Regis has been moderately reworked and now officially features the Gold Find role. While his core buffing abilities have not been changed, his healing abilities have been enhanced to be more useful during long, drawn-out engagements, and many of his abilities are now triggered by the new Critical Hit system.

Critical Hit: Regis' base chance to score a Critical Hit is 20%.

Regis' Ruby Encouragement ability allows him to buff the damage of those in the column ahead or behind him. His Bounty of the Hall ability adds Mithral Hall Stacks to your shared formation pool. It also increases your gold find bonus for each Mithral Hall Stack you have, stacking multiplicatively. His Ruby Healing ability allows Regis to heal the formation whenever he scores a Critical Hit, increasing the heal amount for each Mithral Hall Stack you have.

Ruby Amplification increases the effect of Ruby Encouragement each time Regis scores a Critical Hit. The effect can stack up to 10 times (multiplicatively) and resets when changing areas. Ruby Invigoration stores a charge whenever an enemy scores a Critical Hit against a Champion. This charge increases Regis' chance to score a Critical Hit on his next attack!

Specializations:
  • Ruby Encouragement: Choose which column's Champions get their damage increased (ahead or behind Regis)
  • Ruby Weakness: Choose which damage type deals increased damage to enemies (Melee, Ranged, Magic)

Artemis (Seat 3)

Artemis
Don't worry, Artemis has not been adjusted except to have some new feats added for the reward shop & a default uncommon feat to increase his crit chance.

Critical Hit: Artemis' base chance to score a Critical Hit is 2.5%.

Artemis is already a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. His entry in Season 5 allows him to gain new critical hit feats to further increase his damage!

Artemis' key ability is Observance. He observes and copies the positional formation abilities applied to other DPS Champions in the formation and gains a copy of those abilities on himself at an increased effect, even if he's already receiving that effect! His Jeweled Power ability allows his damage to be increased by 100% (multiplicatively) whenever Artemis kills an enemy. With each trigger of this ability, there's also a 10% chance that Artemis' next attack deals 300% more damage!

Specializations:
  • Observance: Friend: Observance's effect is increased by 10% for each positional formation observed and copied from Champions adjacent to Artemis
  • Observance: Foe: Observance's effect is increased 25% for each positional formation ability observed and copied from Drizzt Do'Urden or Catti-brie.

Pwent (Seat 5)

Pwent
Pwent has been moderately reworked (mostly simplified) and now has several abilities that complement the new Critical Hit system.

Critical Hit: Pwent's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 2.5%.

Pwent has a new passive ability that is always active: Bleed. When Pwent attacks, he causes all enemies he damages to bleed, taking a half second of BUD damage every second for the next 20 seconds. While an enemy is bleeding, attacks that target them have a 20% higher chance to critically hit! Can You SMELL That? increases the damage of Champions not adjacent to Pwent. His Battlerager ability grants a chance to reset his attack cooldown when he attacks an enemy already affected by his bleed effect. Gutbuster Recruits increases the effect of Can You SMELL That? each time a Champion adjacent to Pwent scores a Critical Hit. Bruenor, Me King! grants one Mithral Hall Stack to your shared formation pool, and increases the damage bonus of Can You SMELL That? for each Mithral Hall Stack you have.

Combining all of this with Pwent's Round 'Em Up! Ultimate, where he stuns, damages and causes a bleed effect against multiple enemies will make Pwent a potent support for you Season 4 adventures!

Specializations:
  • Recruiting Drive: Gutbuster Recruits is now triggered when non-adjacent Champions score Critical Hits instead of adjacent Champions.
  • Scents of Mithral Hall: Increases the effect of Can You SMELL That? by 200% for each Dwarf Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively and including himself.
  • Critical Wound: Attacks targeting enemies that Pwent has caused to bleed have a 40% additive chance to be a Critical Hit, up from 20%.

Catti-brie (Seat 7)

Catti-brie
Catti-brie has been heavily reworked and now functions more smoothly as a Support or DPS Champion, instead of being a weird mash-up of the two. Since her Critical Hit ability has been expanded to all Champions, her abilities have been revised to synergize well with Champions who are better at Critical Hits, which is mainly Companions Of The Hall at this point. We revisited her abilities, specializations, and even equipment to make her work well as a support option.

Critical Hit: Catti-brie's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 20%.

Catti-brie's Powerful Draw ability deals additional damage to enemies the farther away they are from the formation. Mark for Death causes enemies hit by Catti-brie's arrows to take additional damage equal to Catti-brie's critical hit damage bonus. Grievous Wounds causes enemies that are marked by Mark for Death to be stunned and take even more damage when a Champion hits them with a Critical Hit. Push Forward increases the damage of herself and all Champions in front of her whenever she scores a Critical Hit. Mark of the Hall grants one Mithral Hall Stack to your shared formation pool and increases the damage bonus of Mark for Death for each Mithral Hall Stack you have.

Specializations:
  • Piercing Arrow: Catti-brie's damage is increased by 400% and her arrows hit all enemies on their way to their target. Each enemy hit has a separate chance of being a Critical Hit.
  • Big Push: Increases the base effect of Push Forward to 60% per stack and Catti-brie only loses half of her existing stacks when changing areas instead of all of them.
  • Critical Family: Additively increases the critical hit chance of all Companions of the Hall Champions by 20%.

Wulfgar (Seat 10)

Wulfgar
Wulfgar has been heavily reworked and now has several abilities that complement the new Critical Hit system.

Critical Hit: Wulfgar's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 20%.

Wulfgar has a new passive ability that is always active: He can be used in any Icewind Dale campaign adventure or variant, even if the restrictions would not normally allow him.

King of the Elk Tribe increases the Health of all other Champions by 25% of Wulfgar's Max Health. Clangeddin's Will increases the damage of all Champions in the formation whenever an enemy is stunned. Dumathoin's Will allows Wulfgar to gain Temporary Hit Points based on the boss's remaining health whenever he stuns that boss. Hammer of the Hall grants one Mithral Hall Stack to your shared formation pool. Wulfgar increases the damage bonus of Clangeddin's Will for each Mithral Hall Stack you have. Wulfgar's Smash 'n Grab ability allows the party to increase their damage up to 5 times in an area whenever Wulfgar attacks an armor-based enemy but doesn't remove a piece of the armor.

Specializations:
  • Heavy Blows: Additively increases all Champions' critical hit chances by 10%.
  • Flag Bearer: Increases the effect of Clangeddin's Will by 100%, and only 50% of the stacks are lost on area change.
  • Moradin's Will: Increases the damage of Companions of the Hall Champions by 100%, and all of the Companions of the Hall are available to be used if Icewind Dale is the current campaign, even if they do not currently qualify based on variant or patron restrictions.

Season 4: Legends of Mithral Hall

Adjacent Champion Overview

Bruenor (Seat 1)

Bruenor
Bruenor has been slightly tweaked so that his Companions' synergy ability works with the new system and has a new name (King of the Hall).

Critical Hit: Bruenor's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 2.5%.

Bruenor now has a new uncommon feat that buffs his Rally ability. He's also gained a new feat at rare, which increases the number of Mithral Hall Stacks Bruenor provides to your shared formation pool.

Jarlaxle (Seat 4)

Jarlaxle
Jarlaxle has been slightly tweaked to act as an introduction to Critical Hits for newer players.

Critical Hit: Jarlaxle's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 20%.

Jarlaxle has new feats that buff his critical hit chance and damage. He also has a new feat at rare, increasing his CON by 1, allowing him to qualify for Vajra patron adventures.

Drizzt (Seat 9)

Drizzt
Drizzt has been slightly reworked so that his Companions' synergy ability and specializations work with the new system, and his damage can keep up.

Critical Hit: Drizzt's base chance to score a Critical Hit is 20%.

Drizzt's Leader of the Companions specialization now increases his damage for each Companions of the Hall Champion in the formation. His Drow Stalker Specialization now increases his damage for each Drow in the formation. New feats have been added which buff his Icingdeath ability. He's also gained a new feat at rare, which increases the number of Mithral Hall Stacks Drizzt provides to your shared formation pool. Keywords and Key Abilities

Throughout the season, various quests may reference certain keywords and abilities. Here is a quick reminder on some of those!

BUD-setting: BUD stands for Base Ultimate Damage. Your 'BUD' is based on the DPS of the highest hit that any Champion has recently achieved against a single enemy. Bud-setting Champion, means the Champion who has most recently done the most damage.
  • On PC UI, this is visible by mousing over the DPS number on the upper left UI, or the lightning bolt banner to the left of your Ultimate Attack buttons.
  • On Console UI, this is visible by looking to the right of your ultimate bar, on the graphic labeled with 'Ult DPS'.
Critical Hit: All Champions and monsters now have a chance to critically hit with their attacks, dealing 100% additional damage on a crit. The base chance for a Critical Hit is 2.5%. Critical Hits are visualized as a color change from red damage numbers to yellow with a burst symbol on each side of the number. Some Champions have formation abilities that trigger when they or other Champions score a Critical Hit. Some Champions have abilities that trigger when an enemy scores a Critical Hit on a Champion.

Companions of the Hall: The Companions of the Hall is an affiliation within Idle Champions comprising the core group of characters from R. A. You can unlock Drizzt through play by completing the first variant of the Underdeep Cartography adventure (Overdue Rendezvous) on the Waterdeep node of the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast campaign.

Mithral Hall Stacks: Mithral Hall Stacks are gained by having Companions of the Hall Champions in the formation. You can increase those stacks further by equipping their specialized feats. Mithral Hall Stacks are a shared formation pool referenced in multiple Companions of the Hall Champion abilities.

Patron Challenges: The Patron system allows you to re-play adventures and variants with additional restrictions, resulting in influence and currency that you can spend in a Patron's given shop. Once you have unlocked a Patron, they will provide you with ten challenges that refresh every Monday at Noon Pacific Time.
  • On PC UI, Patrons are accessible through a button on the upper left UI.
  • On Console UI, Patrons are accessible in the UI buttons above the Champion seats.
Time Gate Adventures: A Time Gate allows you to unlock Champions from previous events you may have missed and/or gear them up for free. You need 6 Time Gate Pieces to open a Time Gate for a Champion, though they open naturally every 2-3 weekends.

Idle Champions: Modron Emergence
Posted in Idle Champions.

Modrons have broken away from the Great Modron March and are spreading across the realms! Protect the Forgotten Realms and unlock exclusive rewards in the Thayan Enclave Shop during the Modron Emergence Event, which runs from May 24th at Noon Pacific until June 7th at noon Pacific!

What is an Emergence Event?

Emergence Events are limited-time events where specific monsters begin to appear in all Free Play adventures. These additional monsters (and any previous use of them) will drop Corrupted Gems during the Emergence Event.

What are Corrupted Gems?

Corrupted Gems are a new currency collected only during Emergence Events. You can spend them in the new Thayan Enclave gem shop.

Season Pass
A Corrupted Gem

How do I collect Corrupted Gems?

During Emergence Events, Corrupted Gems can be collected from the designated monsters, and by completing a daily quest visible in the Emergence Event dialog. Additionally, some variants can reward Corrupted Gems.

How many Corrupted Gems can I collect through the Emergence Event?

The number of Corrupted Gems available in each Emergence Event varies. For the current Emergence Event, you can collect 70,000 Corrupted Gems: 35,000 Corrupted Gems by defeating Modrons during the event, and an additional 35,000 by completing all 14 of the daily quests during the Emergence Event.

The drop rate of Corrupted Gems is controlled at a rate of 1 Corrupted Gem every 30-40 seconds from the start to approximately 3 hours before the end of the event. A catch-up mechanic is built into the event, so if you have a bunch of Corrupted Gems you haven't collected yet, the designated enemies will drop more than 1 for each you destroy until you reach your threshold. Here are two scenarios as an example: 1. You've collected all the available Corrupted Gems from drops. You will see about one drop every 30-40 seconds or so, assuming you are regularly destroying the designated enemies. 2. You've collected 500 Corrupted Gems from drops, but a total of 3000 have been available since the event started. You will receive accelerated drops (more frequent drops and multiple drops per kill) until you have caught up to the maximum available number of drops.

Where can I find Modrons?

The designated enemies for the Emergence Event can be found by playing any Free Play adventures. They can also be found in the adventures and variants of the active event: The Great Modron March!

What can I purchase with Corrupted Gems?

The specific items will vary by Emergence, but include Golden Epic Equipment cards, Feat cards, Skins, Chests, and Marvelous Pigments!

Thayan Enclave Screen
Thayan Enclave

What are Marvelous Pigments?

Marvelous Pigments are specialized items you can use to upgrade certain equipment items. The Thayan Enclave is currently featuring the Marvelous Support Pigment, which can be used to upgrade any epic or better equipment items on a support Champion to provide a +200% Global Damage buff in addition to their normal effects!

Season Pass
Celeste Equipment with Support Pigment Applied

What happens when the Emergence Event ends?

When the Emergence Event ends, you will no longer be able to collect Corrupted Gems from the designated enemies and the daily quests. However, the Corrupted Gems available as variant rewards will remain available for anyone who has yet to complete them. Corrupted Gems that you have collected will remain in your inventory.

When is the next Emergence Event?

The next Emergence Event will begin on August 30th, 2023.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms

Getting Started

What is the goal of Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms?

The goal of Idle Champions is to collect Champions and send them on adventures through various campaigns set within the Forgotten Realms. Your Champions will face endless foes, amass fortunes in gold and Gems, earn powerful Equipment, and combat unforgettable boss monsters as you play stories based on Dungeons & Dragons.

What are Champions?

Champions are the collectable adventurers in the game. Each Champion is designed with a unique combination of Races, Classes, Alignments, Roles, Affiliations, Ability Scores, Base Attacks, Ultimate Attacks, Formation Abilities, Specializations, Feats, and Equipment.

Who is the Champion in the tutorial?

That is Bruenor Battlehammer, one of the first characters introduced in “The Crystal Shard,” a Forgotten Realms novel by author R.A. Salvatore.

How do I collect more Champions?

Players begin the game with 12 Champions available, starting with Bruenor and progressing to Celeste, Nayeli, Jarlaxle, Calliope, Asharra, Minsc, Delina, Makos, Tyril, Jamilah, and Arkhan. Additional Champions are unlocked through limited time in-game Events, Time Gates, and Adventure Variants. Champions may also be purchased through the in-game shop.

What are Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays?

Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays make up much of the gameplay in Idle Champions, presenting unique and often connected stories, while unlocking and upgrading Champions to defeat enemies and collect treasure. Adventures are the initial stories you play through, while Variants become available only after you complete the corresponding initial Adventure. Variants allow you to replay Adventures with additional unique challenges to earn one-time greater rewards. Free Play is available once you complete an initial Adventure, allowing you to replay that story as many times as you like for more limited rewards.

How do I complete Adventures?

You begin each adventure with a Bench Slot 1 Champion in the formation. As your Champion kills enemies you will earn gold to level up your first Champion and eventually enough gold to unlock additional Champions. Once your party has reached the Area objective for an adventure you may 'Complete Adventure' to receive your rewards. However, you may also choose to continue - adventures loop after Area 50 and will keep repeating forever, with enemies growing ever stronger and dropping increasing amounts of gold the further you progress. You may continue until you reach your 'Wall'.

How is Adventure difficulty determined?

All Adventures and Variants (including Events, Time Gates, and other special game modes) use a difficulty rating, from "Easy" to "Normal" to "Deadly" based on how much Divine Favor you possess for that Campaign. Your unlocked Champions, collected Equipment, Blessings, Patron Perks, Modron Cores, or any other method of increasing your power are not taken into account for the difficulty rating.

What is the 'Wall'?

When your Champions are unable to progress any further in an adventure and you have exhausted all your options to make them more powerful, you have reached your 'Wall' and it is time to 'Reset' by Completing your adventure. The gold earned will be converted to Divine Favor which increases the amount of gold found on subsequent adventures in that Campaign, allowing you to progress more quickly and level up your Champions even higher. Sometimes you will need to Reset before completing your Adventure objectives - this is normal! Each Reset increases Divine Favor for future adventures.

What are Campaigns?

Campaigns are groups of connected Adventures that tell one story. Divine Favor is earned by completing Adventures, Variants, and Free Play, and used only for Adventures in that Campaign. Campaigns are available at all times and are frequently updated to add additional content to play.

What other modes and features are there?

In addition to the Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays available in Campaigns, there are also limited-time Events and Time Gates where you can unlock new Champions and collect their Equipment. Additional features include Patrons, Seasons, Modron Automation, Multi-Party Mode, and Trials of Mount Tiamat.

What rewards can I earn from playing the game?

During every Adventure, Variant, and Free Play you earn gold by defeating enemies, which becomes Divine Favor when the Adventure ends. Defeating boss monsters earns you Gems and occasionally Silver or Gold Chests. Achievements (or "Milestones") that you complete give a compounding power bonus to all of your Champions. You may unlock Familiars to help automate tasks for you. Additional game modes and gameplay features are rewarded for completing special challenges.

How does combat work?

You will encounter many different enemies from throughout the history of Dungeons & Dragons. Enemies arrive in waves on each stage of your Adventure, heading toward your Formation of Champions to attack. Champions will defend themselves automatically, attacking whatever threat stands before them. Some Champions have special abilities that apply when fighting specific types of enemies. Occasionally, you may be challenged by a foe with "armored health" which requires many powerful attacks to defeat. If a battle goes on long enough, the enemies will Enrage, becoming exponentially stronger over time unless defeated.

What are Formations?

Your Formation is the group of Champions who you place on the field to do battle in Adventures. Each Campaign, Event, Time Gate, and other special game modes uses a different Formation pattern of circles on the field to denote where you may place your Champions. You must practice Formation Strategy to learn how best to arrange your Champions to make the most use of their power.

What is Formation Strategy?

"Formation Strategy" is the act of arranging your Champions in the Formation in ways that best suit their individual Formation Abilities in order to complete Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays.

What are Formation Abilities?

Champions unlock new Formation Abilities as they level up and receive upgrades. All Formation Abilities are unique to their respective Champions. Many of these abilities look at the exact positioning of your Champions in the Formation, whereas others may apply to all Champions. Some may only apply at specific times, whereas others may apply at all times. It is very important to read the information about a Champion's Formation Abilities in the game to understand how they work and how best to use them.

What is BUD?

Your "Base Ultimate Damage" or "BUD" is a reflection of the highest amount of damage which your Champions recently dealt to any enemy. It is used to determine the power of your Champions' Ultimate Attacks and serves as a useful metric for measuring your Champions' overall power.

What is the Bench?

The bottom of the adventure screen is called the Bench. It displays your Champions' portraits, level, and equipment. There are twelve (12) Bench seats (or slots) your Champions occupy. Champions from the same Bench seat cannot be used together in your Formation. If you want to use a Champion from a Bench seat that is already being used by another Champion, you must swap one Champion for the other.

What is The Forgotten Realms?

The Forgotten Realms is a popular fantasy campaign setting created by Ed Greenwood for Dungeons & Dragons.

What are Familiars?

Familiars are collectible creatures that assist your gameplay by automating certain actions, such as: clicking on enemies and background distractions, picking up gold and quest items, leveling up Champions, and activating Champion Ultimate Abilities. Familiars can be acquired from the in-game Shop or earned during various events.

How do I make Champions stronger?

During Adventures you level up your Champions to unlock and upgrade their Formation Abilities. Collecting Equipment and Feats for Champions will improve the potency of their abilities. Choose Specializations wisely to best suit the specific needs of your Formation Strategy.

How do I help my Champions survive?

Consider placing Champions with the Tanking Role at the front of your Formation and Champions with the Healing Role in positions where they can heal Tanking Champions. Level up these Champions to unlock and upgrade their respective Formation Abilities and confirm that the Healing Champion is able to heal the Tanking Champion. You can also use consumable Potions of Heroism from your Inventory to increase the maximum health of all of your Champions, enabling them to survive longer in battle.

How does Equipment work?

In most cases, when you first recruit a Champion, they will have no Equipment. You will find Equipment for your Champions in Chests. There are multiple tiers of rarity which determine the general power of Equipment: Common Equipment is white in color, Uncommon Equipment is green, Rare Equipment is blue, and Epic Equipment is purple. Each type of Equipment uses item level to determine its strength. Item level is based on all the Equipment you have collected so far for a Champion, with duplicate Equipment contributing additional item levels to your total. The effect given by Equipment is informed by the combination of that Equipment's rarity and item level. Shiny Equipment adds a permanent +50% increase to its power, and Golden Equipment adds a permanent +100% increase to its power instead. It is also possible to forge Legendary Equipment, which is golden orange in color, by participating in the “Trials of Mount Tiamat” game mode and utilizing the Legendary Forge.

Divine Favor & Blessings

Divine Favor & Blessings

What is Divine Favor?

Playing Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays in Campaigns, Events, Time Gates, and other game modes will allow you to earn Divine Favor, a unique currency represented by the various deities of The Forgotten Realms. Divine Favor increases the amount of Gold found during Adventures and can also be used to purchase Blessings.

How do I earn Divine Favor?

The Divine Favor you earn is determined by the amount of gold you are able to collect during your adventures. When your adventure ends, the gold collected is converted to Divine Favor which is then added to your total Divine Favor for that Campaign. Each Campaign and Event uses a different Divine Favor, which must be earned separately from the others.

What does Divine Favor do?

Divine Favor increases the rate of gold collected during Adventures. The more Divine Favor you possess in a Campaign, the more gold you are able to collect, allowing you to purchase Champions and Champion upgrades much more quickly.

What are Blessings?

Blessings are unique buffs for your Champions. They may be purchased from the Blessings menu using Divine Favor. Each Campaign has different Blessings, organized into different tiers of power, which are further categorized as either Local Blessings or Global Blessings.

How do I purchase Blessings?

You must spend Divine Favor to purchase Blessings. Local Blessings have multiple ranks to purchase individually while Global Blessings only need to be purchased once. You cannot spend more Divine Favor than you currently possess. Each tier of Blessings requires a certain number of Blessings purchased from previous tiers before it becomes available. Higher tiers of Blessings and individual ranks of Blessings cost increasing amounts of Divine Favor.

What is the difference between Local and Global Blessings?

Local Blessings have multiple ranks to purchase using Divine Favor, and their benefits apply only when playing adventures in the Campaign associated with that Divine Favor. Global Blessings need only be purchased once, and their benefits apply at all times across Campaigns, Events, Time Gates, and other game modes.

Why am I being warned when I try to purchase Blessings?

A warning prompt appears when you try to spend more than one percent of your current Divine Favor on Blessings for a given Campaign. You may disable this warning by deactivating the checkbox for "Warnings Enabled" in the Blessings menu. Be careful not to spend too much Divine Favor or your adventure progress may be slowed significantly.

How do I reset my Blessings and what happens when I do?

There may be times you wish to redistribute your spent Divine Favor for Blessings. Select the "Reset Blessings" button in the Blessings menu for a specific Campaign and confirm in order to recall 99% of your spent Divine Favor for that Campaign. Doing so disables all Blessings you previously purchased for that Campaign until you spend Divine Favor to purchase them again.

What is Divine Favor Conversion?

Limited time game modes such as Events and Time Gates allow you to earn Divine Favor for the adventures in those game modes which may be later used to gain a boost to Divine Favor for a Campaign. This is called Conversion.

Events

Events

What are Events?

Events are a game feature in the form of limited time Campaigns which occur in a set rotation each calendar year. During Events you can unlock Champions from the most recent three years of that event. You can also earn Chests to collect Equipment for those Champions and Divine Favor unique to that event which may be converted to another Campaign once the Event ends.

When do Events happen and for how long are they available?

There are 17 Events each year, beginning with Highharvestide and ending with Brightswords. Events usually occur every three weeks, beginning on Wednesdays at 12:00PM PT and ending twelve days later on a Monday at 12:00PM PT.

What are Event Champions?

Many of the Champions in Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms are Event Champions. Event Champions are unlocked by participating in Events or Time Gates. Equipment for Event Champions will not appear in regular Silver or Gold Chests.

How do I unlock an Event Champion?

The starting adventures in each Event allow you to permanently unlock the Champions associated with that Event by completing the area objective and ending the adventure.

How do I use an Event Champion I've unlocked?

All Champions occupy one of the bench seats at the bottom of the adventure screen. There are limited seats available, and so Champions must be swapped for their fellow Champions in the same seat in order to use those other Champions. If you do not see a Champion you have recently unlocked, check to see if you have any available Champions to swap by opening a Champion's character sheet.

How do I collect Equipment to power up my Event Champions?

Equipment for Event Champions you have unlocked may be acquired from gold and silver Chests unique to that Champion, from Electrum Chests, from Patron Chests for Patrons which that Champion fits the Patron's restrictions, and more.

What are gold and silver Event Champion Chests?

Each Event Champion has both gold and silver Chests unique to them, which contain Equipment for only that Event Champion. These may be earned by participating in the Event associated with that Champion, Time Gates for that Champion, or premium purchases.

What are Event Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays?

Similar to Adventures in Campaigns, each Event offers multiple gameplay options. Complete an Event Champion's base adventure in the Event to permanently unlock that Champion and gain access to that Champion's Event Variants. Event Variants allow you to replay that same adventure with added difficulty to earn a Gold Event Chest for that Champion. Event Free Plays allow you to replay that same adventure without any added difficulty, to earn a Silver Event Chest or possibly a Gold Event Chest when you end the Free Play any time after defeating the boss at area 50.

What are Event Tokens?

Event Tokens are a type of currency used to participate in Events. Each Event has its own unique form of Event Tokens which may be referred to as its unique identifier, such as Acorns.

How do I use Event Tokens?

Event Tokens are used to pay for entry to Event Adventures, Variants, and Free Plays. The Event Token cost for these gameplay options can vary. You must spend your Event Tokens wisely to make the most of your time in each Event.

How do I get more Event Tokens?

You collect Event Tokens from enemies you defeat in your adventures at a specific rate while the Event is live. You continue to collect Event Tokens even while the game is closed. You can use Bounty Contracts you find in Chests while an Event is active to gain bonus Event Tokens. There may exist other ways to increase your total Event Tokens, such as through Blessings.

What rewards can I earn from Events?

You may permanently unlock specific Champions associated with each Event, You may collect Equipment for those Champions by opening gold and silver Chests you earn during each Event. You may also earn Achievements unique for each Event. You may also earn Divine Favor unique for each Event which may be converted to boost the Divine Favor of another Campaign when the Event ends.

How do I earn Achievements during an Event?

Each Event comes with various unique Achievements to earn in the game. These Achievements include unlocking the Champions associated with each Event, collecting Equipment for those Champions, and defeating the boss in certain areas for the Free Plays in each Event. There are also Achievements unique to each Event Champion which requires an understanding of that Champion's formation abilities, but these may be earned at any time.

Do I need to reach 100% completion in an Event?

Each Event has a progress bar to represent your completion for Achievements associated with each Champion available during that Event. This is a helpful reminder for any remaining tasks left to do in the current Event. However, it is not required to reach 100% completion for these progress bars to keep the rewards that you have earned from the Event.

What happens when an Event ends?

When an Event ends, you lose access to the adventures and any unclaimed rewards for that Event. You keep any rewards which you earned while the Event was active. If an Event ends while you are currently on an adventure for that Event, you will be allowed to finish that adventure at your own pace. Any Event Tokens you did not spend are forfeited and will not be carried over to the next Event, nor to the same Event next year. Any Divine Favor you earned in the Event must be converted to another Divine Favor for a Campaign of your choice. You may choose to convert your Divine Favor immediately, or at any time for the next week. After exactly one week, you will be forced to convert.

Time Gates

Time Gates

What are Time Gates?

Time Gates are a game feature which allows you to permanently unlock Champions from past Events. You can also earn Chests to collect Equipment for those Champions, as well as Mystra's Favor which can help you increase your Divine Favor in other campaigns.

How do I open a Time Gate?

There are two ways to open a Time Gate: Time Gate weekends and Time Gate Pieces. Time Gate Weekends usually occur between Events, but have fewer options. You can also start a Time Gate manually at nearly any time using Time Gate Pieces. You can access the Time Gates menu from the map, or by selecting the Time Gates menu icon from the adventure screen.

What happens when I start a Time Gate?

Choose a Champion! Free Time Gates offer a random selection of Champions from past Events. Manual Time Gates allow you to choose from the full list of all Champions from past Events. Both types of Time Gates give you the opportunity to permanently unlock the chosen Champion and collect Chests for their Equipment.

How much time do I have to earn rewards from Time Gates?

Free Time Gate weekends allow you to start a free Time Gate at any time within a 72 hour period. Once started, all Time Gates remain open and available for 72 hours.

Do I have the same Champion options as everyone else?

The selection of Champions during free Time Gate weekends are randomized for each player. There will always be at least one Champion which you do not yet own among the selection. Manual Time Gates allow you to choose any Champion from past Events.

What are the objectives and rewards for a Time Gate?

Each Time Gate offers you three Adventures, and a Free Play option. Complete these adventures to earn gold Chests. You will permanently unlock the Champion when you complete the first adventure if you do not already own that Champion. You can earn silver Chests when you defeat the boss on area 100, 200, 300, etc. for the first time in that Time Gate. These Chests contain Equipment for only the chosen Champion for that Time Gate. You will also earn Mystra's Favor as you play.

What happens when I close a Time Gate?

When you close a Time Gate, you lose access to the adventures and any unclaimed rewards for that Time Gate. You will be prompted to convert any Mystra's Favor that you earned.

What if I don't finish a Time Gate and I have unclaimed rewards?

You will keep any rewards which you have earned from the Time Gate, but you forfeit any unclaimed rewards. If you had any unclaimed rewards from the Time Gate, you will be credited up to two Time Gate Pieces, based on how many rewards you did claim during that Time Gate.

How do I manually close a Time Gate?

From the Time Gate menu, select the "Close Gate Early" option and confirm by selecting "Close Gate" when prompted.

Can I play multiple Time Gates at the same time?

You cannot start a Time Gate if you have another Time Gate currently open.

Can I open a Time Gate for the same Champion multiple times?

Yes. You may start a Time Gate for any Champion which you previously chose for a Time Gate. However, the required area objectives to earn rewards will increase. The required area objectives to earn rewards will decrease after you start a Time Gate for another Champion.

What is Mystra's Favor and how do I use it?

The Divine Favor for Time Gates is called Mystra's Favor. Mystra's Favor works like Divine Favor for Campaigns and Events, but applies only for that Time Gate. When the Time Gate closes, you must convert your Mystra's Favor to the Divine Favor for a Campaign of your choice. Mystra's Favor converts at a reduced conversion rate compared to Events.

What happens if a Time Gate closes while I'm on a Time Gate adventure?

You cannot manually close a Time Gate while playing a Time Gate adventure. If the 72 hour period for a Time Gate ends while you are on a Time Gate adventure, you will be forced to end your adventure and leave the Time Gate.

Patrons

Patrons

What are Patrons?

Patrons are influential characters from the Forgotten Realms who employ or otherwise challenge the Champions in exchange for various benefits. This allows players to replay previously completed adventures and variants with additional restrictions to earn resources and acquire unique rewards.

How do I unlock Patrons?

Select the Patrons menu icon from the adventure screen to review the list of available Patrons. There are different requirements to unlock each Patron; these requirements may be viewed for each Patron from the Patrons menu. Once you have completed the associated tasks, and you possess the required items, select the "Unlock" option for a Patron to permanently unlock that Patron.

How do I activate an unlocked Patron?

You will find the option to activate or deactivate an unlocked Patron from the map screen. You must not be in an active adventure in order to activate or deactivate a Patron from the map screen. Patrons cannot be activated for Events, Time Gates, the Trials of Mount Tiamat, or for some specific special adventures.

What are Patron restrictions?

Each Patron has unique restrictions when activated, which complicate your adventures by adding another layer of difficulty. Only certain Champions qualify for being used when a given Patron is active. You may be forced to try new formation strategies!

What do I gain from Patrons?

By completing adventure variants, free plays, and challenges while a Patron is active, you can earn Currency and Influence unique to that Patron, which may be spent on a variety of rewards including consumable items, Patron Chests, Modron Component Chests, Time Gate Pieces, Golden Epic Equipment, Champion Skins, Familiars, and Feats.

What is Patron Influence and how does it work?

Patron Influence is a unique resource for Patrons. You earn Patron Influence by completing Patron Variants. Each Patron has a different Patron Influence which is tracked separately from those of others. Patron Influence may be invested in Patron Perks, and your lifetime total Patron Influence is used to determine which items are available for you to purchase from that Patron's Shop.

What is a Patron Variant?

Patron Variants are adventure variants which you have previously completed and which become available to play again for each Patron you have unlocked. To earn rewards for a Patron Variant, you must complete the adventure variant again with the added difficulty of that Patron's restrictions, as well as often being required to reach a further area objective than previously.

What is Patron Currency and how does it work?

Patron Currency is a unique resource for Patrons. Complete Patron Challenges, Patron Variants, and Patron Free Plays to earn Patron Currency. Each Patron has a different Patron Currency which is tracked separately from those of others. Patron Currency may be spent in Patron Shops to purchase various items.

What are Patron Free Plays?

Adventures which you have previously completed and unlocked the Free Play option on will also become available to play as the Patron Free Play option, which differs only in that you must follow that Patron's restrictions and allows you to earn Patron Currency when you reset at a rate of two per completed area in that Patron Free Play.

What are Patron Perks?

Patron Perks are similar to Blessings, in that they offer a way to power up your Champions. You may invest Patron Influence in Patron Perks, unlocking more powerful effects over time. Each Patron has unique Patron Perks, which can be either Local Patron Perks or Global Patron Perks. You may freely recall any invested Patron Influence at any time to redistribute as you like.

What is the difference between Local and Global Patron Perks?

Local Patron Perks apply only when the associated Patron is active. Global Patron Perks apply at all times, even when a different Patron is active, and even if no Patron is active at all!

What is the Patron Shop?

The Patron Shop allows you to purchase unique rewards using Patron Currency, including consumable items, Patron Chests, Modron Component Chests, Time Gate Pieces, Golden Epic Equipment, Champion Skins, Familiars, and Feats. Often these rewards are not available through any other means. To purchase any rewards from a Patron Shop, you must first qualify for that reward by reaching a certain threshold for lifetime total Patron Influence for that Patron. Some rewards are one time purchases, other rewards are available in limited quantity each week, and other rewards are available to purchase as often as you want.

What are Patron Chests?

Each Patron has a unique Patron Chest available through that Patron's Shop. These Chests contain Equipment only for the Champions who qualify to be used for that Patron according to that Patron's restrictions.

What are Patron Challenges?

Patron Challenges are optional weekly tasks which you may complete during adventures while that Patron is active. You will earn Patron Currency for any completed Patron Challenge. Idle Champions: Emergence Events
Posted in Idle Champions.

Red Wizards are coming to Idle Champions! Fight back against the infamous Red Wizards of Thay and unlock exclusive rewards in the new Thayan Enclave Shop during the Red Wizard Emergence Event, which runs from March 29 at Noon Pacific until April 7!

During Emergence Events, Corrupted Gems can be collected from the designated monsters (Red Wizards for the Red Wizard Emergence) and by completing a daily quest visible in the Emergence Event dialog. Additionally, some variants can reward Corrupted Gems. The 10 variants releasing on both March 29 and April 5 each reward an additional 1,250 Corrupted Gems upon completion.

How many Corrupted Gems can I collect through the Emergence Event?

The number of Corrupted Gems available in each Emergence Event varies. During the inaugural Red Wizard Emergence Event you can collect up to 18,000 Corrupted Gems by defeating Red Wizards in adventures and an additional 18,000 by completing all of the daily quests. Finally, by completing the variants being released on March 29th and April 5th, you can collect another 25,000 Corrupted Gems.

The drop rate of Corrupted Gems is controlled at a rate of 1 Corrupted Gem every 40 seconds from the start to the end of the event, for a 9-day total of 18,000 Corrupted Gems. A catch-up mechanic is built into the event, so if you have a bunch of Corrupted Gems you haven't collected yet, Red Wizards will drop more than 1 for each kill until you reach your threshold.

Here are two scenarios as an example:

  1. You've collected all the available Corrupted Gems from drops. You will see about 1 drop every 40 seconds or so, assuming you are regularly killing Red Wizards.

  2. You've collected 500 Corrupted Gems from drops, but a total of 2500 have been available since the event started. You will receive accelerated drops (more frequent drops and multiple drops per kill) until you have caught up to the maximum available number of drops.

Where can I find Red Wizards?

Extra Red Wizards can be found by playing any Free Play adventures. You can also find Red Wizards in multiple adventures and variants within the Tomb of Annihilation campaign.

What can I purchase with Corrupted Gems?

The new Thayan Enclave gem shop has a variety of items that are newly available with this emergence event! Notably: a Golden Epic for Miria, Feats for Fen, Hew Maan, and Hitch, and Red Wizard Skins for Widdle and Calliope. There is also a limited supply of Modron Chests and Supply Chests, and a new chest that provides gear for Calliope, Fen, Hew Maan, Hitch, Miria, and Widdle. Finally, the Thayan Enclave is currently the exclusive home of Marvelous Pigments.

When the Red Wizard Emergence Event ends on April 7th you will no longer be able to collect Corrupted Gems from Red Wizards and the daily quest. However, the Corrupted Gems available as variant rewards will remain available for anyone who has yet to complete them. Items in the Thayan Enclave gem shop will remain available through the next Emergence Event.

When is the next Emergence Event?

The next Emergence Event will begin on May 24.

How long will the items remain in the Thayan Enclave gem shop?

Items added to the Thayan Enclave gem shop for an Emergence Event will remain available in that shop through the end of the following Emergence Event. So the items we've just added will remain in the shop until the next Emergence Event (scheduled to start May 24th) ends.

Idle Champions: Season 3: Ancients and Lawbringers Overview
Posted in Idle Champions.

Season 3 focuses on 5 Champions that are both lawful and unaffiliated: Turiel, Spurt, Hew Maan, Birdsong, and Barrowin. Read below to learn more about these Champions, and the details you need to know about Season 3!

The changes outlined below will roll out on Wednesday, March 8th, along with the preview for Season 3: Ancients and Lawbringers. Season 3 officially begins on March 15th, 2023.

Table of Contents

Season 3: Ancients and Lawbringers

Champion Overview

Turiel (Seat 1)

Turiel has been moderately reworked. We focused on adding new synergies and increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of his abilities. Keep Turiel tanking in the front row (hopefully with others) to maximize his buff!

Turiel's main ability is Embodiment of the Law, which increases the damage of Champions by 100% for each column they are behind him. His Order's Demand ability forces enemies to choose another Champion in his row, provided there is another Champion in his row, to attack instead of him, increasing the effect of Embodiment of the Law each time that happens. Lawful Mission further buffs Embodiment of the Law for each Lawful Champion in the formation. Finally, March of the Rakshasa allows Turiel to add the fiend tag to some enemies, which further buffs Embodiment of Law since Fiend enemies are his Favored Foe per his Unflinching Hatred ability.

Specializations: You can choose between increasing the damage of the party based on their CON or CHA scores!

Spurt (Seat 3)

Spurt has been slightly reworked. His Wa-spiration ability has seen the largest changes, mainly focused on sustainability and ease of use. Keep Spurt surrounded by allies, and trigger his ultimate attack whenever possible, as many of his abilities are buffed when he is in his spirit form.

Spurt's main ability is Heroic Sacrifice. When his ultimate attack is on cooldown, he is replaced by his spirit form and increases the damage of all Champions. His Centipede Net ability increases the damage of adjacent Champions. Wa-spiration allows Spurt to invent random effects every time he attacks (or when an adjacent Champion attacks when he's in his spirit form). Pack Tactics increases the damage of all Champions based on the number of Kobolds in the formation.

Specializations: You can choose between buffing Pack Tactics, increasing the targets for Centipede Net, or allowing unaffiliated non-Kobold Champions to count as Kobolds for the purposes of Pack Tactics!

Hew Maan (Seat 8)

Hew Maan has received a small number of synergy-based changes to improve their usage as a support Champion when they are done speeding you to your wall. They provide different buffs based on where they are in your formation. Think carefully about what situation you're in, because they've got the tools to help!

Hew Maan's main ability is Teamwork which provides different buffs (and changes the top Kobold of the stack) based on which columns of the formation they are in:
  • Front (Zrang - purple): Enemies have a chance to count twice for quest progress.
  • Middle (Kleeb - red): Increases the damage of Champions VS boss enemies, and if they have segmented health, successful attacks destroy twice as many segments.
  • Back (Yassa - yellow): Increases the damage of Champions within 2 columns of Hew Maan.
Hello, Fellow Humans increases the effect of Kleeb & Yassa's Teamwork abilities based on the number of Humans in your formation. Carefully Balanced increases the effect of Zrang's Teamwork ability for each Champion adjacent to them. Please Stand By allows for secondary buffs based on the Kobolds that are not on top of the Hew Maan stack:
  • Zrang: Boss enemies move 25% slower
  • Kleeb: Segmented health enemies and blockers have a chance of spawning with a quarter of their segments already removed.
  • Yassa: Reduces the base attack cooldown of Champions adjacent to them by .5s.
Specializations: You can choose to change what group Hello, Fellow Humans counts instead of Humans:
  • 1: The most populous race in your formation
  • 2: Lawful Champions
  • 3: Unaffiliated Champions

Birdsong (Seat 9)

Birdsong has been heavily reworked with a focus on sustainability and synergy with the following Champion types: Lawful Champions, Unaffiliated Champions, Female Champions, and Bard Champions.

Birdsong's main ability is Song of Battle, which increases the damage of herself and Champions within 2 slots of her. Chorus of the Lost increases Song of Battle for each positional formation ability from unaffiliated Champions that affects her. Crescendo increases Song of Battle whenever a Champion affected by that ability destroys an enemy. Impressive Bladework allows Birdsong to get a bonus attack against a Boss enemy.

Specializations:
You can choose which types of Champions get a buff to the effect of Song of Battle:
  • Good Champions
  • Neutral Champions (along the Good/Evil axis)
  • Evil Champions
You can also choose which groups give Birdsong automatic Crescendo stacks based on the number of them in your formation when entering an area:
  • Lawful Champions
  • Female Champions
  • Bard Champions

Barrowin (Seat 10)

Barrowin has been moderately reworked and is now fully embracing her front-line synergy; she has gained the Tanking role along with several new tanking abilities. Keep her in front of the formation with Lawful and/or Dwarf Champions watching her back.

Barrowin's main ability is Blessed Hammer, which increases the damage of Champions behind her for each Champion in the formation who has an equal or higher base attack cooldown than her (those that attack slower than her). Lawful Vigilance increases her health based on the number of Lawful or Dwarf Champions in your formation. Healing Word allows her to heal Champions in her column. Even Temper allows her to attack faster for each Champion counted in Lawful Vigilance. Hammer Time increases Blessed Hammer based on the maximum number of enemies she's had attacking her at once in this area.

Specializations: You can choose whether to buff Blessed Hammer by a static amount, Healing Word, or Blessed Hammer based on the number of Champions counted in Lawful Vigilance.

Season 3: Ancients and Lawbringers

Keywords and Key Abilities

Throughout the season, various quests may reference certain keywords and abilities. Here is a quick reminder on some of those!

BUD-setting: BUD stands for Base Ultimate Damage. Your 'BUD' is based on the DPS of the highest hit that any Champion has recently achieved against a single enemy. Bud-setting Champion, means the Champion who has most recently done the most damage.
  • On PC, this is visible by mousing over the DPS number on the upper left UI, or the lightning bolt banner to the left of your Ultimate Attack buttons.
  • On Console UI, this is visible by looking to the right of your ultimate bar, on the graphic labeled with 'Ult DPS'.
Lawful Champions: Lawful Champions are those noted as 'Lawful' (along the lawful/chaotic axis) in the Alignment section of their character sheet.

  • On PC, Patrons are accessible through a button on the upper left UI.
  • On Console UI, Patrons are accessible in the UI buttons above the Champion seats.
Positional Formation Abilities: Positional Formation Abilities are abilities that trigger based on where a target is in the formation.

Time Gate Adventures: Time Gates allow you to unlock Champions from previous events that you may have missed, and/or gear them up for free. You need 6 Time Gate Pieces to open a Time Gate for a Champion, though they do open naturally every 2-3 weekends.
  • On PC, Time Gates are accessible through a button on the upper left UI.
  • On Console UI, Time Gates are accessible in the UI buttons above the Champion seats.
Unaffiliated Champions: Unaffiliated Champions are those with 'none' listed in the Affiliations section of their character sheet. Season 3: Ancients and Lawbringers

Key Enemies

Throughout the season, various quests may reference certain types of enemies. Here is a quick reminder on where to find some of those!

Bailiearyl Tavebent: During Weeks 8 & 9, Bailiearyl Tavebent can be encountered on area 50 of The Running adventure: The Grandfather Acorn and its variants. When The Running isn't active, you can access The Grandfather Acorn by opening a Time Gate to Catti-brie, Spurt, Krydle, Shaka, or Dungeon Master.

Beasts: Beast monsters can be encountered in most adventures. If you are looking for a good target to encounter beasts, try The Cursed Farmer - the first (non-tutorial) adventure in the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign.

Bosses with Armor Chunks: Bosses with armored health (segmented chunks that will flash a shield over the health chunk when a Champion doesn't deal enough damage to it) are available on many different adventures. In Weeks 9 & 10, you can encounter an armor-based monster on area 50 of The Running adventure: The Grandfather Acorn and it's variants. When The Running isn't active, you can access The Grandfather Acorn by opening a Time Gate to Catti-brie, Spurt, Krydle, Shaka, or Dungeon Master. Note: Armor-based monsters are also available on various other adventures; this is just an example.

Bosses with Segmented Health: Bosses with segmented health are available on many different adventures. Bosses with hit-based or armor-based health will count toward this quest. The Tyrannosaurus Zombie on area 50 of Running of the Saurs, the third adventure in the Tomb of Annihilation campaign, is a great early-game example of a segmented health boss!

Elder Brain: During Weeks 5 & 6, an Elder Brain can be encountered on area 50 of the Greengrass adventure: The Endless War and its variants. When Greengrass isn't active, you can access The Endless War by opening a Time Gate to Nrakk, Aila, Melf, Orkira, or Gazrick. You can also encounter an Elder Brain in The Alien Underdark adventure on the Underdark map of the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign.

Fiends: Fiend monsters are available in many adventures. If you are looking for a good target to encounter Fiends, you can find Imps in The Mad Wizard - the second adventure in the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign. Turiel's March of the Rakshasa ability also can add the fiend tag to non-boss enemies. Have Turiel in your formation if you are hunting fiends!

Frost Giants: During Week 1 & Week 2, a Frost Giant boss can be encountered on area 50 of the Festival of Fools adventure: A Fools Errand and its variants. When Festival of Fools isn't active, you can access A Fools Errand adventures by opening a Time Gate to Strix, Rosie, Briv, Alyndra, or Tatyana. If you are looking for a good target to encounter Frost Giants outside of that event, try Giant's Bane Tavern - the first adventure in the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Campaign.

Humanoids: Humanoid monsters can be encountered in many adventures. If you are looking for a good target to encounter humanoids, try A Mysterious Summons - the first adventure in the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Campaign.

Monstrosities: Monstrosity monsters are available in many adventures. If you are looking for a good target to encounter monstrosities, you can find Harpies in Terror in the Dark - the fourth adventure in the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign.

Owlbear: Owlbear bosses can be encountered on many adventures, and Snowy Owlbears can be encountered in Icewind Dale. If you are looking for a good target to encounter Owlbears, try Giant's Bane Tavern - the first adventure in the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Campaign.

Undead: Undead monsters are available in many adventures. If you are looking for a good target to encounter undead, you can find Zombies in Terror in the Dark - the fourth adventure in the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign.

Idle Champions: Fleetswake 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

You've been recruited by a merchant guild in Waterdeep to look into a number of mysterious missing ships over the past year. The Fair Seas Festival is a good time to look into this as people are quite open about the dangers of the sea, the fury of Umberlee, and so forth.

Many people blame Umberlee for the missing ships, but the merchant guild isn't so sure...

Fleetswake 6 introduces Solaak, a kalashtar ranger played by Gabe Hicks on Idle Champions Presents: Fury of the Black Rose. Fleetswake also brings back Desmond, a werewolf ranger, as well as Orisha, an Aasimar Cleric and Bard. Players have until Monday, March 6th at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Fleetswake 6 unlocks and objectives.

I. Solaak

Being telepathic means Solaak knows who to trust, and sadly that’s not many people. But when the Kalashtar found the soul of a dragon trapped in a chasm, he formed a bond of trust like no other. Solaak now rides his dragon mentor, Tempest, into battle, and together they are unstoppable!

Solaak is a Support Champion who excels at ranged attacks, as well as aiding others who attack from a distance. His shots are even more inspiring as he fires while riding his fierce dragon companion! Once unlocked, you can find this ranger in Slot 2 opposite Celeste.

For more information on Solaak and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

Year Six Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: On the Wings of Dragons — Search for some missing ships during Fleetswake with Solaak! Solaak, Tempest, and Levits join the formation. Levits can be moved, but not removed.
    Complete Area 75.
  • Getting to know Solaak: Solaak's Pseudodragon pet Levits takes his place in the formation. Look for Solaak riding a drake in the back of the formation!

  • Adventure Variant 2: Slings and Arrows — Search for some missing ships during Fleetswake with your best ranged attackers. Solaak, Tempest, and Levits join the formation. Levits can be moved, but not removed. The base attack cooldowns of Champions with magic and melee base attacks are increased by 10 seconds.
    Complete Area 125.
  • Getting to know Solaak: Solaak's buffs focus on Champions with ranged attacks. Make the best ranged formation possible!

  • Adventure Variant 3: A Scaly Companion — Search for some missing ships during Fleetswake with a dragon escort! Solaak, Tempest, and Levits join the formation. Levits can be moved, but not removed. A Bronze Dragon joins the formation as an escort. It takes up three spots in the formation, but doesn't do much else.
    Complete Area 175.
  • Getting to know Solaak: One of Solaak's specializations can help offset the presence of escorts in the formation. Choose wisely!

Idle Champions: Midwinter 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 6 introduces Fen, the Drow Dhampir Warlock from the Black Dice Society, and brings back Rust on the Habour, hydrophobic Tabaxi rogue and sometimes member of the Oxventure Guild, and Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue. Players have until Monday, January 23rd at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 6 unlocks and objectives.

I. Fen

Dungeons & Dragons Fen Midwinter
This Drow Dhampir Warlock has a touch of mischief and sneakiness, but she's loyal to those she cares for and a fearsome opponent for those who have earned her hate. Above all else, everything Fen has done has been for Isolde's freedom. Now she needs a new purpose to fight for, and maybe she can find it among the Society.

Fen is a DPS and Support Champion, and is the newest Black Dice Society member to join the formation. In addition to buffing the damage of Champions in her row, this Warlock/Rogue increases the attack speed of all Warlocks in the formation. Finally, she's keen to help you finish any Patron challenges you might still be facing. Once unlocked, you can find this Dhampir Drow in Slot 6 opposite Asharra.

For more details on Fen and her abilities, check out her Champion Blog, or her Spotlight Video below!

Year Six Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: Mirtwinter Day - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with Mirt the Moneylender. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Mirt also joins the formation and only Champions in Mirt's column can deal damage.
    Complete Area 75.

  • Adventure Variant 2: The Wise and the Warlocks - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with the wisest of your Champions. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Vajra and redeemed Zariel also join the formation; they're here for moral support. You may only use Warlocks, Black Dice Society Champions, or Champions with WIS 15+.
    Complete Area 125.

  • Adventure Variant 3: Oh Great, More Mist! - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day as the mists of Ravenloft envelop the city. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Since the weather is foggy, you can't use Champions with ranged attacks, except for Desmond. 1-2 zombies spawn with each wave; they don't drop gold or count toward quest progress. Strahd spawns as a second boss in each boss area and he must also be defeated to progress.
    Complete Area 175.
