Strahd zombies from Barovia have invaded the Sword Coast!
Today's Variants Update introduces 7 Ravenloft-themed Adventure Variants to the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast, and the Light of Xaryxis campaigns. The capstone Variant for the Light of Xaryxis campaign is also included in today's batch!
Today's update also heralds a new emergence! Until Aug 5th at 12 PM PT, Strahd zombies will appear in Free Play Adventures, continuing their chaotic march across the Sword Coast!

A Grand Tour of the Sword Coast
The Prison of Velkynvelve
Variant: Prisoners of Strahd
You awake in the underdark and try to figure out how to escape from Strahd.- You may only use Champions with an Intelligence of 16 or higher.
- 1-2 Strahd Zombies spawn with each wave. When they are killed, their limbs keep on fighting.
- In each boss area Strahd on Horseback appears. You must defeat this additional boss to advance. When defeated, he runs off the screen.
- Areas with no weather are instead dark and foggy.
- Complete Area 425
Lost in the Underdark
Variant: In Your Element
Find your way to Sloobludop while drow and their elemental bodyguards hunt you!- You may only use Champions that are NOT a Standard Species. Standard species are Aasimar, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goliath, Halfling, Human, Orc, Tiefling, Half-Orc, and Half-Elf.
- 1-2 Lesser Earth Elementals spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
- Elemental enemies protect other enemies. Non-elemental enemies can't be attacked while an elemental is present in the area.
- Complete Area 425
Leemooggoogoon Rises
Variant: Hoard and Horde
Help the Kuo-toa while you try to barter for a boat with Champions that know something about gold.- You may only use Champions with the Gold Find role.
- Undead enemies have their speed and damage increased by 300%.
- 1-2 Strahd Zombies spawn with each wave. When they are killed, their limbs keep on fighting.
- Areas with no weather are instead dark and foggy.
- Complete Area 425
Neutral No More
Variant: No More Neutral
Head to Mantol-Derith, to learn more about the relentless undead incursion into the Underdark.- You may not use Champions that are Neutral in any way.
- 1-2 Relentless Undead spawn with each wave. When they are killed, Relentless Undead don't disappear. Instead, after 3 seconds, they get back up and start attacking again.
- Areas with no weather are instead dark and foggy.
- Complete Area 475
Light of Xaryxis
The Last Light of Xaryxis
Variant: 5 Minutes to Doomsday
Must go faster!- Every 50 areas starting at area 1, a 5 minute countdown starts. If the countdown hits 0 before getting through the 50 areas, every Champion in the formation is removed and can't be used for the rest of the adventure.
- Anytime there are less than 3 minutes left in the countdown you can't remove Champions from the formation. This restriction is removed when the countdown timer reaches 0 until the countdown starts again.
- Complete Area 1250
Realmspace Restored
Variant: Undead to the Core
Return to Toril and stop Undead Mind Flayers from taking over Waterdeep!- You may only use Champions with a Wisdom of 12 or lower.
- 1-2 Undead Mind Flayers with 4 armored health spawn with each wave.
- Aberration and Undead enemies have their speed and damage increased by 300%.
- Areas with no weather are instead dark and foggy.
- Complete Area 1250
Realmspace Restored
Variant: Smart and Suave
Return to Toril and stop Mind Flayers from eating your charismatic brains!- Champions can't be removed from the formation once they have been added.
- Every 50 areas, the Champion with the lowest total Intelligence and Charisma is removed from the formation and can not be used again in the adventure. If there is a tie, the tie is broken randomly.
- Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
- Complete Area 1300
