Heat, searing down on you. The prickle of sweat dripping down your neck and evaporating off your exposed skin. The azure water lapping the stony shore of the beach below you looks tempting, but you're uncertain if it's safe for you to take a swim in it. You turn your attention back to the path beneath your feet as you continue to climb up the craggy hill, the slightly lighter brown dust the only indication it is actually a path. You carefully make your way to the summit, only occasionally wishing that the portal for this world had let you out closer to the spot indicated on the mysterious invitation you received, though when you reach the top and check your watch, you discover you're early.

Gazing at the sky while you recover your breath a little, you note some clouds moving towards you that you hadn't seen earlier. In fact, the sky is starting to darken more than should be possible as the clouds near the summit, the gust of metallic-smelling wind bringing them also churning the water below. Thunder starts to rumble and you glance around urgently for shelter, but there's nothing to be had.

You try to head back down the path, to not be the tallest thing around, but an invisible force keeps you on the summit. You crouch down, arms over your head and eyes closed, hoping against all hopes, but the summit fills with light as the lightning strikes, followed by a fierce crack of thunder. Curiosity gets the better of you and you open your eyes to take a peek.

A large bulky shape looms in the fog that now covers the summit, but the wind is still blowing strong, so the fog blows off quickly, revealing the mass. Three pairs of eyes meet your gaze from three separate heads.

"Leaving so soon?" the lion-looking head asks. "The meeting hasn't even started yet."

You stand up so you can get the invitation out of your pocket. "You're Umut, the Elemental Chimera?"

The snake-looking head nods at you. "Indeed. Thank you for coming."

"It's not every day an invitation randomly shows up hovering in an air bubble," you answer, shrugging. "I figured it would be worth investigating."

"Just the sort of response we like," the goat-like head chimes in. "We shall join you."

You blink and take a second to think. "Wait, what?"

Umut walks closer to you and all three heads look at you again. The lion one speaks, "We are ready to travel and have new adventures and someone who answers mysterious invitations is bound to have some good adventures. We will come with you."

You meet the gaze of each head in turn, noting the fangs glittering in their mouths and the claws on their paws. Another lightning bolt strikes the summit across from you. "Of course," you swallow. "You seem to be just what we need for our adventures as well."

All three of Umut's heads break out into wide grins. "Agreed," the heads chorus as one.

Umut, the Elemental Chimera has joined the party. When you want to use them, you can find them in seat 35.

New Tier 7 Objectives

Recruit | [New Crusader] takes up a slot in the formation. Alan the Archangel and RoboRabbit take up spots in the formation and can't be removed. An Egg Mech spawns randomly and lives at least 5 seconds. Only Robot Crusaders do DPS. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Bullet Hell on Ready Player Two to complete. Beat area 650.

Break Free | Baenarall, Angel of Hope, and Sisaron the Dragon Sorceress take up spots in the formation and can't be removed. An Egg Mech spawns randomly and lives at least 5 seconds. Tough Chicken Rabbits spawn at random. When killed, a Chicken Rabbit counts as 5 monster kills or drops 5 quest items. Quest requirements are tripled. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.

Cleansing Water | Biff the Magic Rabbit and Bridget the Painter take up spots in the formation and can't be removed. An Egg Mech spawns randomly and lives at least 5 seconds. All monsters and bosses are changed to fish. After area 1, only projectile attacks can do damage. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.

Spring Cleaning | Dr. Almquist, Tusk Specialist takes up a spot in the formation and can't be removed. An Egg Mech spawns randomly and lives at least 5 seconds. Cleaning bots are trying to help you clean up and spawn randomly. When killed, the cleaning bots decrease the progress towards completing the area quest by 2. Only Evil Crusaders do DPS. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 850.

Amazing Grace | Marzimallow, The Delicious takes up a spot in formation and can't be removed. The formation has been changed. An Egg Mech spawns randomly and lives at least 5 seconds. Only one spot is able to contribute DPS or upgrades to start, the rest are chained. Grace occupies a slot in the formation. For every 45 Egg Mechs killed, she unchains a spot. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 900.

Farmer Brown was a very fine farmer. He watched over his fields, tending them with attentiveness, rotating fields every few years, rotating the crops in those fields, even reading them bedtime stories over the PA system. His vegetables were known as the best and biggest in the area and though other farmers asked for his secrets, they just couldn't implement them as well as he did.

That might have been because of the other secret to his success: magic!

Though one day, tragedy struck and Farmer Brown lost control of his combine, leading to an unfortunate accident. Thankfully, his beloved crops merged with his body and resurrected him. Though his community was a little wary around him now.

When you come across him in your travels and offer him the chance to join your motley crew, he accepts!

You can find Farmer Brown in seat 35 on the bench.

Non-boss area requirements are now set to collect 77 items or kill 77 monsters. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.

Supernatural Veggies | Saint Patrokia and Ana Guinness take up spots in formation and can't be removed. Only Supernatural Crusaders can be used. Evil veggies spawn, each living at least 5 seconds, with a hidden power. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.

Angelic Tractors | Tiernan takes up a spot in formation and can't be removed. Only Angel and Robot Crusaders can be used. A tractor takes up a spot in the formation. Crusaders adjacent to the tractor receive a 1000% DPS increase. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 850.

Delightful Nitrates | Gwendolyn, Daughter of Night takes up a spot in formation and can't be removed. Only Undead and Flora Crusaders can be used. A plant takes up a spot in the formation. For every 100 monsters killed, the plant provides a 5% gold buff, stacking multiplicatively. Caps at 10,000 monsters killed. A long time ago, and just around the corner in a cozy little cottage, a dwarf and an elf loved each other very much and they had a daughter, whom they named Audre. They raised her with love and taught her to be kind and polite, but polite doesn't mean agreeing with everything people ask of her. She also developed a backbone.

One day, you're walking along the street and past the cottage where Audre is sitting outside with a table and a stack of pamphlets.

"Could I talk to you about people's rights?" she asks, holding out a pamphlet to you.

Intrigued, you read the pamphlet a bit. "This is really well-thought-out. What's the catch?"

She grimaces. "What do you mean, catch? Everyone deserves fair treatment, no matter their background or views, but we're not there yet. There's still more work to do."

You think about it for a second. "That makes sense. We could use your spirit," you say. "Wanna come with us? We travel through a lot of universes, you could get your message spread pretty far."

Audre crosses her arms and thinks for a minute, looking at her cottage. "March with pride across the multiverse? Count me in. Hannah, I'm going on an adventure!"

Hannah stepped out of the cottage and walked over to Audre and you. "Of course you are," she said, giving Audre a hug and kiss. "But come back from time to time, all right? I'll miss you."

"A herd of stampeding alien trash pandas couldn't keep me away," Audre smirked. "I'll come back in my downtime." Turning to you, she said, "Let's go!"

The lights dim, the music starts to play and a rainbow disco ball is lowered from the ceiling…and keeps getting lower. A few feet from the stage on the field, the ball drops out of the air and lands to reveal a turtle with sparkly scales.

"Get ready for a flava bomb," he cries into the mic and the field fills with dancers.

Unfortunately, the dancers are wearing fruit costumes, and some of them are watermelons. The turtle's eyes glow red and he jumps off the stage.

The half-time show ends up giving a new meaning to the Carnage Cup.

You and your fellows manage to escape the stadium. Just before you're going to portal away, Chef Casey coughs. "Can my new friend come?" she asks.

"New friend?"

She shuffles aside guiltily, revealing the sparkly turtle. "TUR7L3 didn't mean to do it….plus his skills would come in handy."

The turtle's eyes turn into hearts temporarily. "Please?"

There was definitely carnage in there…"Sure, why not," you reply.

Ahh, relaxation.

The feel as the warm sand hugs your toes with each step you take. The pleasant warm embrace of the heat of the day. The sound and smell of the surf as the waves crash on the beach. The cool moisture on the glass of your favourite drink in your hand. The haunting red-orange glow of the water and the sinking sun. Paradise.

Your ears perk as you catch the faint strains of music and you take off along the beach to find the source. Rounding the bend your first sight is wings, though a lot of your friends have wings so it's no longer a huge shock. Next you see the lyre in their hands, being expertly played though the song comes to an end as you watch.

Shaking your head to clear a bit of fog (which might have come from your drink, but you're not certain) you finally notice the crowd gathered around the musician. She's definitely something special, luring a large chunk of resort guests to her impromptu concert. She starts to play again and the trance returns.

Soon, the music is finally over, and you realize it's now really dark and you've sat down on the sand at some point. The crowd has also dispersed and it's just you and the musician now.

"Sorry, didn't mean to overdo it," she says. "I just wanted you to stick around for a moment. I sensed something...different about you. You seem well traveled."

"You could say that," you quip. "I've gotten around." You notice she's put the lyre back in its case, and the night is silent but for the waves.

She follows your gaze. "No coercion this time. I've learned to prefer honest answers to my questions."

"And what question would you ask?"

"Can I join your travels? I'm looking for an adventure…"

You hesitate a second and look at the ground. "Well, we've already got a lot of musicians in our group--" Your words are cut off as you feel the scaly texture of talons around your throat.

"You were saying?" she asks with a cock of her head, and the talons relax a little.

You swallow nervously. "What happened to no coercion?" She just smirks.

You reach out your free hand. "Welcome aboard."

Suspicious Private Island | Shenna the Centaur and Bruno the Unicorn start in the formation, and can't be removed. Only Shenna can do DPS. No Dragon Crusaders can be used. The formation has been poisoned by a wily horseman! Crusaders take 30% damage every second. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.

Shore Excursion | Jiaolong the Guardian starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from Jiaolong, only Healer or Magical Crusaders can be used. Can only do DPS while Alchemy is active. Tropical Flower Walk | Ursula the Busy Bee starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Monsters drop less gold. Only Flora Crusaders can be used. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 900.

A new day, a new planet. You've been trekking through the tangled weeds, grasses and trees from the portal opening when you almost trip on a hard flat object in the ground. Glancing around, you see the foliage isn't as dense and you can make out a structure in the distance. As you approach, you note a sign that says " G M L" on it mounted on the side of the structure.

You see a door and step inside, smelling an oddly familiar cinnamon and popcorn scent on the stale air. It's an alien mall! And some franchises are just that powerful. You walk in further, eyes adjusting to the gloom of dirty skylights.

A rustling noise draws your attention. Something seems to be approaching you. As it gets closer you hear a rhythmic thumping and the tinkle of something metal hitting the tile floor. It thumps into a brighter patch of light and you see a kangaroo plushie made of assorted fabrics just before it jumps on you and you thud to the floor.

"Friend?" the creature asks.

"If I say yes, will you get off me?"

The kangaroo ducks their head and carefully steps off you. "Sorry. It's been ages since someone visited."

"You're here all alone?"

The kangaroo hops. "There's the occasional mouse that I stomp on, but they don't talk, so they don't count."

You scratch your head. "My friends and I are travellers, and we're a pretty large band. In the spirit of the season, would you like to join us?"

"Would I still get to stomp things?" they ask.

You smile. "Definitely."

Springy, the Patchwork Plush has joined your party.

For every cast of Storm Rider, up to 500 casts, Frosty gets a 15% DPS boost, stacking multiplicatively. Island of Misfit Presents | RoboRudolph and The Dark Helper start in the formation and can't be removed. The formation has been changed. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.

Krampus is Watching | Xander the Xmas Dragon and Wrena the Fair start in the formation and can't be removed. Krampus spawns randomly on non-boss areas and marks 3 random Crusaders with coal, disabling their DPS for 6 seconds. The snowman freezes every Crusader except for Odile. Frozen Crusaders don't contribute upgrades. A hot chocolate monster spawns on every non-boss area, the first time you enter the area. For every 88 hot chocolate monsters killed, the snowman freezes one less Crusader. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 900.

Slowly, as your eyes adjust to the surroundings, you notice a faint hint of light seemingly floating above the ground.

Curious, you move closer to the light source, but are puzzled at the cold mist enveloping your legs, and as you're bopped on the head by a stick of some sort.

Two more light sources have joined the faint glow and they illuminate a snout full of teeth.

"No further please," a feminine voice says and then the light vanishes again.

The stick on your head starts to warm up and memories of your comrades standing beside you as you fling items at monsters stream through your head.

"Oooh, throwing things is fun," she says, and you feel the stick removed from your head. "I will join you."

The blackness immediately lightens and you see your new friend asleep on a cloud with a bundle of bamboo nearby. Time for another magical adventure.

Kaala Rigel is a Support Crusader. When you want to add her to your formation, you can find her in slot 36.

New Tier 7 Objectives

• Recruit Kaala Rigel | Kaala Rigel takes up a slot in the formation. Momma Kaine and RoboTurkey start in the formation, and can't be removed. Crusaders adjacent to Kaala Rigel will be randomly frozen by them. Frozen Crusaders don't deal damage but still buff other Crusaders. Projectile Crusaders can't be used. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Bullet Hell on Ready Player Two to complete. Beat area 650.


• Roughing it Out | Paul the Pilgrim and Petra the Pilgrim start in the formation, and can't be removed. Your Gold Find is reduced by 100% at the start of each area. Each enemy killed reduces this debuff by 1%. Aside from the locked-in Crusaders, Support Crusaders can't be used. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.


• Automated Cooking | Chef Casey and 43G1S start in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from the locked-in Crusaders, only Flora, Animal or Robot Crusaders can be used. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.


• House Party | Gemthel the Gourmet starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Party crashers randomly spawn, and can only be killed by projectile damage. When killed they count for 5 monsters killed or 5 quest items. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 850.


• It Lives! | Momma's Monster starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Momma's Monster is the only one who can do DPS. The formation has been changed. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 900.

Rayna, Snickette and Morrigan were off hiking in a forest they'd found on the edge of a desert, exploring the interesting foliage and chatting away. The sun, still visible through the canopy, bathed the trees in a warm glow.

As they ventured further down the path, Rayna started getting an eerie feeling and glanced around, but all she noted was that the light seemed a little less bright. She watched as Snickette and Morrigan ran forward to investigate a stream that ran alongside the path and her feeling of wrongness grew stronger.

Right before Rayna's eyes, Snickette was suddenly dragged under the water. Morrigan tried to grab her friend's feet but Snickette was already gone. Rayna raced up to the water and pulled Morrigan behind her, readying a Fire Storm charge, which she directed at the spot where she could still see Snickette's cloak.

Nothing immediately happened. 5 heartbeats...10 heartbeats….20 heartbeats, and then the water erupted, revealing a ghostly figure.

"Give me the other child," it rasped. Rayna and Morrigan exchanged puzzled looks. The ghost pointed at Morrigan.

"Oi, I ain't no child ghostie," Morrigan said. "I'm a leprechaun, thank ye very much. And so's my friend you got there. Give her back!"

"I'm not a ghost, I'm Xochitl, La Llorona!" the ghost announced. Rayna and Morrigan looked at her blankly. The ghost hissed and tears started flowing down her cheeks. "Surely you must have heard of me?"

"Sorry dearie, but we've been lots of places and can't learn the myths of all of 'em," Morrigan replied. "Now, give back my friend!" Rayna readied another Fire Storm charge and gestured toward the ghost.

The ghost clenched her fists and the river splashed around her, but then she let out a sigh. With a flick of her wrist, a drenched Snickette was thrown from the river and started choking out water on the bank. "Fine, have her back. Just no more fire." She started to drift back down into the water.

Sucking in a breath of air, Snickette gasped "Treasure!" and Xochitl paused. More coughs racked her small frame, but Snickette managed to say, "the ghost had a lot of treasure down there."

Xochitl raised an eyebrow. "Those trinkets? They just happen to collect around me."

The three crusaders exchanged looks. Treasure was always handy. "Say, how about you come with us for a little while?" Rayna asked as she dismissed her Fire Storm. "I think you might have some fun."

Xochitl looked at the river and the tranquil forest. It had been getting a bit quiet lately, as the rumours had started to spread. "I'm in."

Xochitl, La Llorona is a Support and Gold Crusader. When you want to add her to your formation, you can find her in slot 24.

New Tier 7 Objectives

• Recruit Xochitl, La Llorona | Xochitl, La Llorona takes up a slot in the formation. Wendy the Witch and Jack O'Lantern start in the formation, and can't be removed. Only Wendy can do DPS. Xochitl, La Llorona damages all Crusaders in formation by 10% of their max health every second. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Bullet Hell on Ready Player Two to complete. Beat area 650.


• Ghost Story | Henry, the Scaredy-Ghoul and Fright-o-Tron 4000 start in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from locked-in crusaders, only Demon, Evil or Magical Crusaders can be used. Three old ladies occupy slots in the formation, telling ghost stories. They shift positions every 100 areas. Ghostbeard is curious if he stars in any of the stories and spawns randomly, scaring the old ladies and causing them to disable the DPS of adjacent Crusaders for 10 seconds. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.


• Malignant | Viktor the Vampire and Trixie the Treater start in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from locked-in crusaders, only Demon, Evil or Magical Crusaders can be used. The play area randomly goes pitch black, and a random effect occurs before light returns. A camera monster spawns to take your picture to commemorate the moment. While the camera is alive, your gold find is reduced to 0. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.


• Hex | The Evanescent starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from the locked-in crusader, only Demon, Evil or Magical Crusaders can be used. The formation has been changed. A witch occupies a slot in the formation. If you take longer than 20 seconds to clear the area, she wakes up and wipes your formation. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 850.


• Tooth Fairy | Crooked Crow starts in the formation, and can't be removed. Aside from the locked-in crusader, only Demon, Evil or Magical Crusaders can be used. One lucky kid occupies a slot in the formation. The evil witch spawns randomly and scares the kid, causing the upgrades and formation abilities of adjacent Crusaders to be disabled for 10 seconds. Note: This will require having purchased the max level of the Arithmagician Talent to complete. Beat area 900.

The hairs on the back of your neck rise as you enter the tent, a pungent smell filling your nostrils, something that smells like dust and dry earth. You look around for the source, hoping your eyes adjust to the dim lighting soon. You try to think back on what the sign outside the tent said, but you were running too fast to have read it properly.

Flap...flap...flap.

That odd sound happens again, closer this time. You turn around, trying to find the entrance to the tent again, thinking it might be worth facing the creatures outside rather than whatever is in here. And then you feel the hand on your back.

A small squeak slips out of your mouth, adventurer or no, and you turn back to whatever touched you. All you can see is wings.

Erabelle, Tisseuse de Nuit is a Support Crusader. When you want to add her to your formation, you can find her in slot 39.

Quest requirements are doubled. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 750.


• Carnival of Sushi | Chiyome and Sashimi the Seal take up spots in the formation and can't be moved. Other than the locked-in Crusaders, only Erabelle, Tisseuse de Nuit, Flora, or Human Crusaders can be used. Special fish monsters spawn and increase Chiyome's DPS by 50% additively for each one killed. Quest requirements are doubled. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Washed Up on World's Wake to complete. Beat area 800.


• Carnival of Magic | Carmen and Petunia take up a spot in the formation and can't be moved. Other than the locked-in Crusader, only Erabelle, Tisseuse de Nuit, Flora, or Human Crusaders can be used. The formation has been changed. If there are at least 5 Magical Crusaders in the formation, then Carmen and Petunia buff DPS by 1000%. Quest requirements are doubled. Can you feel the music? Like really feel it? No? Well, then you're definitely not like Shir Brio of Cadenza, expert in cello and actual cello too. When they play a piece, they're definitely feeling the music as it vibrates their body.

Music is all about practice, practice, practice. The more experience you have, the better, so Shir Brio is ready to help those Crusaders in formation who put in the time.

Plus, who doesn't love a good song? Even the monsters are appreciative, as they rush to meet this new artist of acclaim and pass on with a soulful melody in their ears.

Shir Brio is joining your expedition to learn new songs and styles of music, because life is music.

Shir Brio of Cadenza is a Support. When you want to add them to your formation, you can find them in slot 37.

• Just a Phase | Aphelion the Distant takes up a spot in formation and can't be moved. The formation has been changed. Aphelion is the only one who can do DPS. Note: This will require having cleared the objective Bullet Hell on Ready Player Two to complete. Reach area 700.


• Hildr's Boot Camp | Hildr the Gym Teacher takes up a spot in formation and can't be moved. Besides Hildr, only Tier 6 Crusaders can be used in the formation. Every 15 seconds, Hildr assigns a random letter grade to a random crusader, buffing or debuffing them. Grades will either increase DPS by 100% or 50%, or reduce by 25% , 50%, or 95%.
