BW2: Celebrate Nate's Birthday Event!

Happy Birthday Nate!

It’s that time of year again! Help celebrate Nate Dragon’s birthday by decorating the Commons for him....because no one else will.

First and foremost, whenever Nate is involved, safety becomes a priority. Find Safety Coins in the bushes and bring them to the stations in the Commons to stock up on protective gear. Turn in 10 coins at each station 50 times for an achievement. You can see the number of turn-ins you've completed at a station when you turn in a set of coins. The Kevlar Pad station is there on the first day of the event, and the Fire Extinguisher and Band Aid stations will unlock as the event goes on.

Then it seems Nate needs decorations and activities to set up in the Commons. Go out daily and find things for his party. Have fun trying out the activity stations as many times as you want!

If you're trying to get Tiny Little Arms or Just Like Nate achievements, or if you just want to have a little fun, you need to be wearing all pieces of the Dragon gear or the Nate outfit (available from the vendor's Bush Bucks store if it's your first time playing this event) while completing the 4 party Stations: Dynamite Activity, Campfire Activity, Digging Activity and the Training Whacking Activity.

If you've built the Town Hall, you can expect an fiery visitor to the party as well!

Idle Champion Spotlight: Rust on the Harbour

Many are excited by the thrilling life of a pirate on the high sea. But all the swashbuckling skills in the world cannot help when you are afraid of water!

Rust on the Harbour is the sweetest, nicest sellsword to ever be shot out of a cannon! He joins fellow Oxventure Guild members Corazón and Prudence in the Idle Champions roster during Midwinter 5.

I. Rust

    Rust on the Harbour is a former pirate who gave up a life at sea because it was far too wet. His deadly skills are in contrast to his sweet nature and short attention span, and he enjoys seeing others succeed even if they are supposed to be antagonists. Now trying life as an adventurer on land, he'll lend his roguish skills to anyone who can give him that which his heart desires most: one gold piece.


Rust is a Support and Gold Find Champion whose excitement to find coin helps the rest of the formation increase their gold find. When you want to add him to your formation you can swap him with Jamilah (Slot 11).

III. Rust's Design

We are fortunate to get to work with a huge variety of liveplay D&D series, but it's a rare treat to be able to include the Dungeon Master as one of the Content Creators who bring a Champion to our game. So we're very happy that our third Champion from the Oxventure crew from Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra comes from DM Johnny Chiodini! They created Rust as their character for a Saltmarsh campaign, and brought the supportive tabaxi in as an NPC for Oxventure to enjoy. Along with their impressive DM skills, Johnny has made content for Eurogamer, GameSpot, and Dicebreaker, and currently creates videos about tabletop and video games for their Patreon.

Rust does his best to help his allies be more deadly on the battlefield, but his main focus is cashing in on all the coin he can collect! He's always on the hunt for One Gold Piece, which he will happily grab from the field when dropped by a defeated enemy. As long as he holds a precious coin in his claws, he buffs the damage bonus to Highest Bidder and the gold find bonus for Rust For Hire. Plus the more Oxventurers Guild Champions there are in the formation, the more likely he'll find a shiny gold piece while saying Hello, Friends!

All of Rust's Specializations focus on his beloved One Gold Piece. If it's Especially Shiny he simply increases his bonuses to gold find and Champion damage. But if there are many Oxventurers Guild Champions nearby he can base his buff on his Close Friends. This deadly tabaxi can shoot enemies with his pistols or stab them with his rapier, but he might drop his shiny gold piece when he leaps into melee combat. So his Rust Reloaded Specialization means he will only attack with his pistols, keeping that coin safer from being dropped. But sometimes Rust needs to do something epic, even if there's a chance he'll lose his gold piece, and that's when he'll load himself into a cannon to be launched across the battlefield in his Ultimate Attack, Cannonball!

IV. Rust's Abilities

Basic Attack

Rust has two different attacks that he rotates through. He attacks once with Bang Bang, then drops his pistols and will attack with his Rapier three times before retrieving the pistols and starting over.
  • Bang Bang — Rust shoots a random enemy with his pistols, once from each pistol. Rust can not lose his shiny gold piece when he attacks with his pistols.
  • Stabby Stabby — Rust leaps out and stabs a random enemy with his Rapier once. He might lose his shiny gold piece while doing this.

Formation Abilities

  • One Gold Piece — Rust has a 2% chance to gain a shiny gold piece from any kill. While holding this gold piece, the effects of his Rust For Hire and Highest Bidder abilities are increased by 200% each. Rust has a 3% chance to accidentally lose the gold piece each time he attacks with his Rapier.
  • Rust For Hire — Rust increases your gold find by 100%.
  • Highest Bidder — Rust increases the damage of all Champions by 100% for each order of magnitude of your Gold Find percentage.
    • For example, if your gold find is 2.1e15%, then this bonus is multiplied by 15.
  • Hello, Friends! — Rust's chance for One Gold Piece to find a shiny gold piece from any kill is increased by 100% for each other Oxventurers Guild Champion in the formation, stacking additively and then applying multiplicatively.

Specializations

  • Especially Shiny — Increase the ability bonus of One Gold Piece by 100%.
  • Close Friends — The ability bonus of One Gold Piece is increased by 100% for each other Oxventurers Guild Champion within 2 slots, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Rust Reloaded — Rust now only attacks with his Pistols and can only lose his One Gold Piece during his ultimate attack.

Ultimate Ability

  • Cannonball! — Rust loads himself into a cannon and fires himself toward the enemies, dealing damage in a large area upon landing. When using his ultimate, Rust has a 40% chance of dropping his shiny gold piece midway through his flight. This chance is reduced by 2.5% for every 4.5 seconds of ultimate cooldown reduction he has, capped at a 75% reduction

This week's update brings not only 11 new adventure variants for the 5 active campaigns of Idle Champions, but we're also updating the Patron Shop and adding Tier 6 & 7 Patron Perks! Each adventure variant is Patron-themed, and some of them have the Patrons along to supervise!

Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Variants

Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Adventure Variants

  • Seeds of Deceit: The Strahd Squad
  • Protect the Martikov family winery from destruction while fighting back hordes of zombies.
    • There is a 40% chance with each wave that 5 additional Strahd Zombies appear. They don't drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
    • Due to Strahd’s influence, Champion healing is reduced by 75%.
    • Complete area 275.

  • Flies on the Wall: A Nod from Strahd
  • Head to the Amber Temple to help Kasimir while repelling Strahd.
    • In each boss area Strahd on Horseback appears. You must defeat this additional boss to advance. When defeated, he runs off the screen.
    • Only champions with INT of 13 or higher can be used..
    • Complete area 325.

  • Lost in the Goblin Halls: Temporal Rift in the Goblin Halls
  • Search through the citadel to find the twilight grove in record time!
    • Time is sped up by 2x.
    • You must complete area 100 within 30 minutes of starting the objective.
    • You must click on 50 distractions before completing the objective.
    • Complete area 100.

  • Attack on the Manor: Review by the Blackstaff
  • Investigate a heinous attack just outside your new manor under the watchful eye of the Blackstaff.
    • Vajra joins the formation to advise.
    • Champions with Melee and Ranged attacks deal no damage.
    • Complete area 250.

  • Nimble Escape: Distracted Escape
  • Search Gralhund Villa for the Nimblewright while protecting Mirt.
    • Mirt leads the formation.
    • Champions adjacent to Mirt deal no damage due to his distracting presence.
    • Only good and evil champions may be used.
    • At the start of each area, an Iron Defender with 10 armored HP appears. Other monsters are invulnerable while the Iron Defender is there.
    • Complete area 275.

  • Questlines: Just The Worst
  • Clear off your quest to do list with the worst of the worst.
    • Good Champions cannot be used.
    • Neutral Champions (on the good/evil axis) deal no damage.
    • Complete area 500.

  • Bel's Forge: Fire and Brimstone
  • Begin to unravel Bel's intentions while fighting fire and fiends!
    • In each non-boss area, one Lesser Fire Elemental appears with each wave. They do not count towards quest progress, nor do they drop gold. The Elemental’s movement is 300% faster. If the Elemental hits with an attack, it explodes (and dies) and all champions lose 20% of their HP.
    • In each boss area a Cultist of Zariel appears. You must defeat this additional boss to advance.
    • Only champions with STR of 10 or higher and CHA of 13 or higher can be used.
    • Complete area 525.

Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Adventure Variants

  • Deekin's Mission: Fire and Ice
  • Escort the survivors to Bryn Shander with the redeemed Zariel.
    • Redeemed Zariel takes up a slot in the formation.
    • Zariel’s presence has attracted hordes of angry devils due to her redemption. In Non-Boss levels, each wave creates an extra 1-3 random devils. They do not drop gold or count towards quest progress. In Boss levels, create an additional random boss that must also be defeated to advance.
    • Evil champions may not be used.
    • Neutral (on the good/evil axis) champions deal no damage.
    • Complete area 450.

  • Frozen Vengeance: REALLY Frozen Vengeance
  • Return to Sunblight fortress during the coldest day of the year.
    • The cold causes all Champion base attack cooldowns to be doubled, making them attack less often.
    • Only slow Champions with a DEX of 13 or lower can be used.
    • Complete area 475.

Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions Wild Beyond the Witchlight Variants

Wild Beyond the Witchlight Adventure Variants

  • Thieves of the Coven: Patron Party
  • Dive deeper into the mysteries of the Witchlight Carnival while protecting the patrons.
    • Redeemed Zariel, Mirt, and Vajra escort the party and take up slots in the formation.
    • Complete area 350.

  • Hither of Witchlight: Don’t Blast the Brigands
  • Venture into the Feywild in a fog that blocks ranged attacks.
    • Additional Harengon Brigands appear in each area. They don't drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
    • Only Champions with a melee or Magical base attack can be used.
    • Complete area 400.


New Patron Perks and Patron Shop Updates

With this Adventure Variant Update, it's also time to update Patron Perk Tiers and the Patron Shop! In addition to Tier 6 & 7 Patron Perks, each Patron will receive a skin for an Evergreen Champion, a Golden Epic for an Evergreen Champion, and Rare & Epic Feats.

Tier 6 & 7 Patron Perks

  • Mirt the Moneylender:
    • Tier 6 Local — Dig Deep: Increase the damage of all Champions by 1% for each enemy on screen.
    • Tier 6 Global — Price of Inflation: Gold Find +2.5%.
    • Tier 7 Local — Moneylent: Reduce the amount of gold required to level up Champions by 3%
    • Tier 7 Global — Silvery Gates: Time Gate Silver Chest drops have a +2% chance of being doubled.
  • Vajra Safahr:
    • Tier 6 Local — Embassy: Increases the damage of non-human Champions by +50%.
    • Tier 6 Global — The Less Fortunate: Damage of Champions without the "Gold Find" role +10%.
    • Tier 7 Local — Young Guns: Damage of Champions aged 50 or younger +40%
    • Tier 7 Global — Golden Gifts: Gold chest drops have a +2% chance of being doubled.
  • Strahd von Zarovich:
    • Tier 6 Local — Long Lived: Damage of Champions aged 50 or older +50%.
    • Tier 6 Global — Arm's Length: Damage of Champions adjacent to 2 or fewer Champions +10%.
    • Tier 7 Local — And Prosperous: Increases the damage of all Champions by 10% for every Gold Find Champion in the formation (mult)
    • Tier 7 Global — Unlikely Allies: Global Damage +5% for each Good/Evil pair of Champions in the formation.
  • Zariel:
    • Tier 6 Local — Only the Strong: Increase the damage of Champions with a STR score of 12+ by 75%.
    • Tier 6 Global — No Trial Left Undone: Increase the damage done by Champions while on a Trials of Mount Tiamat trial adventure by 50%.
    • Tier 7 Local — Only the Loved: Increase the damage of Champions with a CHA score of 15+ by 75%.
    • Tier 7 Global — Tiamat Unleashed: Increase the Assault Party DPS provided by reaching the daily Trials of Mount Tiamat area goal by 1%.

Idle Champion Spotlight: Viconia DeVir

There are many ways a cleric can assist their companions. While some focus on healing or offering buffs, others embrace the power to control those who would try and cause them harm. Because sometimes the best way to protect your allies is to turn your enemies into more allies!

Viconia DeVir was cast out of Menzoberranzan and house DeVir after refusing to sacrifice a child to the spider goddess Lolth. She has lived a dangerous and difficult life, and she joins the Champions at the behest of some of her acquaintances from Baldur's Gate this Wintershield!

I. Viconia DeVir



    Viconia DeVir is a devout cleric of Shar, the goddess of darkness and loss. But don't mistake her cleric powers as a sign of her working for good. She may not approve of how the Champions operate, but if the quest and the payout are worthwhile, she's here and ready to assist.

Viconia is an evil alignment buffer who can reanimate dead enemies and turn them against their former friends. She also heals, but only if you get damaged enough to make it worth her time. Once unlocked, you can find this displaced drow in Slot 5 (Calliope)

Ia. Heroes of Baldur's Gate Update

When Viconia launches on December 22nd, 2021, we will also be expanding the Champions with the Heroes of Baldur's Gate affiliation to include all Champions from the Baldur's Gate Video Game Series e.g. Viconia, Baeloth, and Jahiera. They will join the Champions from the Heroes of Baldur's Gate Comic: Shandie, Minsc, Nerys, Krydle, and Delina who are already listed as members.

III. Viconia's Design

Viconia DeVir is a character from the original Baldur's Gate video game, as well as Baldur's Gate II and Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. Many of her powers, abilities, and personality were drawn from those games. We're excited to have another evil Champion joining the roster, as well as another member of the Heroes of Baldur's Gate! She may begrudgingly call Baeloth and Minsc 'friends', but the rest of the Champions are just allies that can help her accomplish her goals and earn some coin. She'll offer the other Heroes of Baldur's Gate buffs with her Cleric of Shar ability, and heal those Champions who are in dire need with Cure Medium Wounds. But her main focus during battle is seizing control of the lifeless bodies of their enemies and using Animate Dead to send them back against their former allies!

IV. Viconia's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Sling — Viconia slings a stone at a random enemy.

Formation Abilities

  • Cleric of Shar — Increase the damage of Evil Champions and Heroes of Baldur's Gate Champions by 100%.
  • Animate Dead — When a non-boss enemy is killed there is a 20% chance that Viconia will seize control of its lifeless body and turn it against its former allies for 10 seconds, stopping their movement. While it is re-animated, it deals 20% of your BUD to nearby enemies each second. Multiple enemies can be animated at once, each of which will do its own damage, but despawn during area transitions.
  • Cure Medium Wounds — Heals allies that are under 50% health for 20 health per second for 5 seconds.

Specializations

  • Holy Power — Increase the effect of Cleric of Shar by 100% for each column away from the back-most column she is, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Begrudging RespectCleric of Shar now affects Neutral champions instead of Evil ones. Heroes of Baldur's Gate are still covered under this new plan.
  • Turn Undead — Increase the chance for Animate Dead to trigger by 100%.

Ultimate Ability

  • Unholy Blight — Viconia summons a cloying miasma of cold and greasy darkness that damages all enemies and increases the odds of any enemies killed by it triggering Animate Dead by 50%.

Idle Champion Spotlight: Yorven Springpaw

There are many stories of people disappearing into the Feywild, only to reappear later vastly changed by the experience. But even creatures native to the fey realm can become lost, and must embrace less colorful skills to survive.

Yorven Springpaw disappeared from the Feywild as a child after an encounter with a malicious coven of hags. He ended up lost in the Shadowfell, where he embraced his innate primal spirit to survive. The power of this ancient feral beast helped Yorven do more than survive the dangers of the Shadowfell -- he thrived. He brings those new powers to the Champion roster this Simril!

I. Yorven Springpaw



    When Yorven came across the Witchlight Carnival he managed to convince the owners to bring him on board. When the Witchlight Carnival returned to the Feywild years later, Yorven moved on, seeking his childhood home - and the hags who banished him.

As a barbarian druid, Yorven has plenty of muscle and power to bring to the Champion roster, and he uses his massive harengon legs to leap into battle with speed and ferocity! He's a DPS and Support Champion covered in magical tattoos and scars and is ready to scrap when you swap him with Tyril (Slot 10) to add him to your formation!

III. Yorven's Design

When the Harengon became a playable race in Dungeons & Dragons, our Stream Executive Producer Dylan Wilks was inspired by the powerful bonus action jump ability to find out how dangerous he could make a hopping tank. Drawing on some of the newest character building options available, he crafted a beastial barbarian who could cross entire battlefields in one giant leap! With a physical description and a loose bio, he handed the character over to the rest of the team, who ran with the idea and built a Champion who quickly gained the infamous title 'murder bunny'.

Once the Champion stats and basic backstory were created, our Content Designer Erin M. Evans began crafting the voice of Yorven. This dark and dramatic seeker of vengeance has an endless flurry of epic monologues at the ready, but he is earnest in his desire to use the darkness inside him as the power to protect those who cannot take care of themselves.

IV. Yorven's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Ferocious Maul — Yorven leaps out at the nearest enemy, pinning it in place and attacking it once a second for 5 seconds for 5 total attacks. If the enemy dies this attack ends immediately, and for the duration of the attack, Yorven is invulnerable.

Formation Abilities

  • Blood Fury Tattoo — Each time Yorven Springpaw attacks during Ferocious Maul the enemy gains a stack of Blood Fury. Each stack causes them to take 100% more damage from all sources, stacking multiplicatively. The debuff lasts for 2 seconds but the timer refreshes when it is reapplied. This ability is buffed by upgrades, feats, and equipment.
  • Infectious Fury — Enemies that Yorven Springpaw has attacked take 100% more damage from all Champions when they are attacking the formation.
  • Danger Sense — Champions adjacent to Yorven Springpaw take 5 less damage from all attacks, and Yorven gains a 100% damage boost for 10 seconds when this ability effectively lowers the damage of an enemy attack.

Specializations

  • Hunger For Blood — If an enemy dies while Yorven Springpaw is attacking it with Ferocious Maul, Yorven immediately leaps to another enemy and begins attacking it. This also adds one additional attack to Ferocious Maul each time it triggers.
  • Eldritch Claw Tattoo — Each time Yorven Springpaw attacks during Ferocious Maul, an inky tendril of Eldritch energy shoots out and zaps a different random enemy, dealing damage based on the amount of health Yorven's target currently has, with a maximum value equal to your current BUD. If no other enemies are on screen, this ability does nothing.

Ultimate Ability

  • Fey Wild Shape — Yorven Springpaw shape shifts into a shadow mastiff-like creature for 30 seconds. During this time their attack cooldown is reduced by 50% and their damage is increased by 400%.

Idle Champions: Icewind Dale, Part 10

We've defeated the Chardalyn Dragon. We've defeated the mortal form of the god of winter. And now, we must face a Demilich. With the fate of Icewind Dale in our hands, we must gain control of and destroy the Mythallar, but our ally Vellynne Harpell may have other plans.

Before we can destroy the Mythallar, our old friend the Professor Orb shows up with his new drow allies and wants to try a spell to see what happens. What could go wrong?

The Champions will have to face their greatest foe yet and concoct a new plan to save Icewind Dale from the terrors of the Tarrasque!

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Icewind Dale Adventures, Cold As Ice and Friends & Foes, in order to access these new Adventures.



The Spire of Iriolarthas

Gain the final clue to enter the Spire of Iriolarthas and face the Demilich of Ythryn.
Reach Area 600
  • Adventure Variant: Always Watching — Always there, even when you thought you had defeated him.
    • In each boss area, Iriolarthas the Demilich appears. He must be defeated in order to progress.
    • Only Champions with WIS of 14 or higher can be used.
    • Complete Area 650

The Fall of Ythryn

Destroy the Ythryn Mythalar, using whatever means necessary.
Complete Area 625
  • Adventure Variant: Icequake — Destroy the Ythryn Mythalar, while the glacier crumbles around you.
    • From area 30 onward, an earthquake occurs every 20-120 seconds. Earthquakes cause a screen shake and cause falling pieces of ice to hit the Champions, dealing damage equal to 75% of their max health and stunning them for 15 seconds (subject to a DEX save).
    • The earthquake also triggers the following effects for 15 seconds if one or more Champions fail the save.
      • Champion damage is reduced by 99.9%.
      • Enemies move 200% faster.
    • DEX Save: For each point their Dexterity score is above 10, a Champion has a 10% chance to save against the damage/effect, completely nullifying it. For example, a Champion with 14 DEX has a 40% chance to save against the damage, while a Champion with 20 DEX or higher has a 100% chance to save against the effect.
    • Complete area 675
  • Adventure Variant: A Lesson in Classes — Destroy the Ythryn Mythalar, with only one of each class at a time.
    • Xerophon joins the formation for this adventure to see what it's like to fight alongside the Champions. They don't attack, they're just here to observe.
    • Only one Champion of each class can be included in the formation at any time. Multiclass Champions count for all of their classes. Xerophon does not have a class for this adventure variant.
    • In an attempt to distract and confuse the enemies, Xerophon transforms into the first enemy who spawns in each area, increasing damage against that type of enemy by 100% for the rest of the area.

Idle Champion Spotlight: Xerophon

Imagine going to sleep as a prisoner in a Netherese floating city, and waking up centuries later on an icy glacier. This Champion is doing their best to turn a rough start into a new beginning.

Xerophon is the latest Evergreen Champion, joining our roster from the finale of Icewind Dale!

I. Xerophon

    Xerophon joins with the Champions in an attempt to avoid the icy tomb of Ythryn, but is very interested in seeing where this new lease on life takes them. As a doppelganger they've had the opportunity to play many roles in their life, and now looks like an excellent chance to try out being a hero!

Xerophon is a Support Champion who uses their excellent imitation skills to provide valuable information to the rest of the formation. This gives their fellow Champions bonuses to all their attacks, helping keep the party moving through any obstacles in the way! When you want to add Xerophon to your formation you can swap them out with Minsc (Slot 7). But first, you'll need to unlock them! You can unlock Xerophon starting on December 1st, 2021, by first completing the final adventure in the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign: The Fall of Ythryn. Xerophon can then be unlocked by completing the second adventure variant for The Fall of Ythryn: A Lesson in Classes.

III. Xerophon's Design

Xerophon is a character first detailed in the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure, and is someone who knows much about Ythryn from their time spent there more than 1700 years ago. That knowledge means they play a key role in helping the Champions navigate the necropolis. Additionally, their doppelganger abilities offer crucial support to help overcome multiple encounters with the enemies within the city. With their knives and a few Netherese artifacts at the ready, they're intent on aiding the Champions as best they can!

With the Perfect Imitation Ultimate attack, Xerophon can shapeshift to match a wide variety of enemies, and many of their formation abilities increases the damage bonus given to all Champions while they imitate that creature. Their Specializations help decrease the cooldown on Perfect Imitation, allowing them to keep offering those buffs to the formation.

IV. Xerophon's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Stab — Xerophon attacks a random enemy with their knife.

Formation Abilities

  • Adaptable — Xerophon increase the damage of all Champions by 100%. This is further increased by 25% for each stack of Adaptable they have. Stacks of Adaptable are granted for each Champion that doesn't match the chosen Specialization.
  • Minion Meets Master — When the only enemy alive during Perfect Imitation is a boss, Xerophon increases the damage bonus of Perfect Imitation by 25% per second, stacking multiplicatively. These stacks reset when the ultimate ends.
  • Repeated Imitation — Increase the damage bonus of Perfect Imitation by 5% each time it is used in an adventure, stacking multiplicatively up to 500 times. The stacks reset when the adventure is reset.
  • Weak Spot — Increase the damage bonus of Perfect Imitation by 25% each time the enemy Xerophon is imitating is killed during that use of Perfect Imitation, stacking multiplicatively. The stacks reset when the ultimate ends.

Specializations

Xerophon has a specialization choice for each ability score, each one helps reduce the cooldown of Perfect Imitation based on the number of Champions who match that stat block. Each specialization also adds a stack of Adaptable for each Champion that doesn't meet the criteria.

Strength:
  • High Strength — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a STR score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Strength — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a STR score of 12 or lower.
Dexterity:
  • High Dexterity — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a DEX score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Dexterity — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a DEX score of 12 or lower.
Constitution:
  • High Constitution — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a CON score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Constitution — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a CON score of 12 or lower.
Intelligence:
  • High Intelligence — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with an INT score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Intelligence — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with an INT score of 12 or lower.
Wisdom:
  • High Wisdom — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a WIS score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Wisdom — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a WIS score of 12 or lower.
Charisma:
  • High Charisma — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a CHA score of 13 or higher.
  • Low Charisma — Decrease the cooldown of Perfect Imitation by 10 seconds for every other Champion in the formation with a CHA score of 12 or lower.

Ultimate Ability

  • Perfect Imitation — Xerophon picks a random non-boss enemy that is alive, or if there are no enemies alive they pick one that they have seen on the current adventure, and shapeshifts to match its appearance for 60 seconds. During this time Xerophon does not attack, but greatly increases the damage of all Champions!

Today's update brings 11 new adventure variants across 5 campaigns! Each campaign has one or more variants themed around different chromatic dragons, these new adventure variants will test the mettle of your formations!

Dungeons & Dragons Idle Champions Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Variants

Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Adventure Variants

  • Leemooggoogoon Rises: Volo's Guide to Kuo-toa
  • Help the Kuo-toa while Volo and his friend chat you up.
    • Volo and a Kuo-toa join the formation, chatting up your team.
    • Champions adjacent to Volo and/or the Kuo-toa have their base attack cooldown increased by 1 second; it does not stack.
    • Complete area 400.

  • Neutral No More: Crimson Perception
  • Head to Mantol-Derith, while a young red dragon causes havoc.
    • In each boss area a young red dragon appears. You must defeat this additional boss to advance.
    • Only Champions with WIS of 14 or higher can be used.
    • Complete area 450.

  • Encroaching Madness: Maroon Madness
  • Explore Mantol-Derith while you deal with some wyrmlings who shouldn't be there.
    • Red Wyrmlings appear in each area. They don't drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
    • Red Wyrmlings should not be in Mantol-Derith. When a Champion kills a Red Wyrmling, they are stunned for 4 seconds as they try to understand what's happening.

    • A Botched Kidnapping: This Quest Stinks!
    • Help Volothamp Geddarm with a small task while dealing with a stinky foe.
      • Two skunks accompany the formation, but don't worry: Volo vouched for them!
      • Champions adjacent to the skunk deal no damage (but their formation abilities still work).
      • Black Dragon Wyrmlings appear in each area. They drop no gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
      • Complete area 225.

    • Trollskull Manor: Home Not So Alone
    • An annoying goblin has taken up residence in Trollskull Manor and put up defenses!
      • Each boss fight, a Blockade and a Goblin appear. The boss is invulnerable until the Blockade and Goblin are taken out. When the Goblin is defeated, they run off the screen instead of disappearing.
      • Gold Find is reduced by 99%.
      • Complete area 250.

      • With each boss, an extra white Dragon Wyrmling boss with 25 armored HP appears. The main boss is invulnerable until the white dragon is defeated.

    • The Witchlight Carnival: A Dragon Against Us
    • Uncover the mysteries of the Witchlight Carnival while evading dragons.
      • Green Dragon Wyrmlings appear in each area. They drop no gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
      • Only Champions with DEX of 15 or higher can be used.
      • Complete area 300.

    Red the Squirrel, the delightful ally of Party 2 of Idle Champions Presents: The Trials of Mount Tiamat, arrives as a familiar who can join your adventures!! The Red the Squirrel Familiar Pack includes Red, the Squirrel Familiar, 6 Epic Potions of Speed, 6 Epic Potions of Giant's Strength, 6 Epic Potions of Clairvoyance, 6 Epic Potions of Fire Breath, and 1 Potion of Polish.

    Idle Champion Spotlight: Widdle

    With a burst of supreme speed this gnome dhampir will always shoot first and ask questions later. Some may see her as a monster, but to her companions she's a friend with sharp teeth and an even sharper smile!

    Widdle is the final Champion to take a place next to her friends Orkira Illdrex, Avren, Penelope, Freely, Briv Steelmarrow, and Alyndra Sarrbarand from Heroes of the Planes! She joined the Heroes while on a mission to rescue her friend Rend from the clutches of Strahd von Zarovich, and will continue to help them as she participates in the Feast of the Moon next week!

    I. Widdle



      Widdle's life goal is the destruction of Strahd, but with 423 years of gnomish wisdom, she realized she still needed more time. Becoming a dhampir seemed like the best option, and now she uses her enhanced speed and fearsome fangs to help her friends and show that being a dhampir does not make you a monster. With a big personality and an even bigger blunderbuss, she's ready to deal with any challenge!

    Widdle is a Support, Healing and Speed Champion who's vampiric charms can buff the damage of her allies while encouraging them to attack faster. But all this battle can make a dhampir hungry, and those she buffs look extra tasty to oncoming enemies, making them spawn faster. When you want to add Widdle to your formation you can swap her with Celeste (Slot 2).

    Ia. Heroes of the Planes Updates

    Widdle is the final Heroes of the Planes Champion, and with her release we've updated several members of the group! Widdle is the first Champion to be released with the Speed tag, but we are also adding that tag to many other Champions, including Widdle's friend Briv Steelmarrow. Those tags will be updated on November 10th with the launch of Feast of the Moon. You can find out more about what the Speed tag means, and see what Champions it is being added to, in our Speed update blog!

    When the full Heroes of the Planes family is assembled on Nov 10th, we will also update Alyndra's Portent Ability to include Briv, Orkira and Widdle. Here's her fully updated ability:
    • Heroes of the Planes — If Portent is applied to a Champion under the effect of certain Heroes of the Planes Champions' abilities, those effects are increased in power:
      • AvrenMirror Image effects on the Portented Champion +100%.

    Finally on November 2nd we released an update to Penelope Half Pint who receive the following changes:
    • Minor Eruption's AOE applies the Have You Met My Friends debuff to all affected enemies
    • Max Story Time stacks increased to 40, up from 25
    • Increase base effect of Have You Met My Friends from 300% to 500%
    • Increase Tools For the Job Charm gold bonus to 15% of total buff, up from 10%

    III. Widdle's Design

    We've been adding the Heroes of the Planes to our Champion roster for quite a while, and it's a wonderful joy to have Meagan Kenreck honor us by bringing the final member to the party! Meagan is a Twitch streamer, graphic designer, photoshop enthusiast, and advocate for inclusivity. She's also known as Sofieus on Silver and Steel, the co-host of "Todd and Meagan talk D&D", and also plays as Widdle in "The Adventures of Widdle and Rend", a D&D one on one show with her Husband, Todd, who plays as Rend.

    Widdle always seems to be grinning as she leads the charge into adventure or battle. She focuses on increasing the damage and speed of her friends, boosting adjacent Champion damage with Vampiric Gaze while reducing their base attack cooldowns by encouraging them to Hurry Up Now. Her Specializations boost her damage buff based on specific ability scores, and her Vampiric Bite Ultimate attack not only does enormous damage to a random enemy, but heals herself and her friends.

    IV. Widdle's Abilities

    Basic Attack

    • Blunderbolt — Widdle fires a firebolt from her enormous Blunderbuss, damaging a random enemy.

    Formation Abilities

    • Vampiric Gaze — Widdle charms those adjacent to her with her Vampiric Gaze, increasing their damage by 100%.
    • Hurry Up Now — Champions affected by Widdle's Vampiric Gaze have a 25% chance to immediately reset their base attack cooldown after they attack.
    • Tasty Friends — Champions affected by Widdle's Vampiric Gaze look extra tasty to enemies. Each affected Champion increases the monster spawn speed by 10%, stacking additively.
    • Only As Slow As The Fastest Link — Champions affected by Widdle's Vampiric Gaze have a basic attack cooldown equal to the quickest of the affected Champions.

    Specializations

    • Strong and Steady — The effects of Widdle's abilities on Champions affected by Vampiric Gaze are increased by 50% on Champions with a STR or DEX score of 12 or higher.
    • Mind and Body — The effects of Widdle's abilities on Champions affected by Vampiric Gaze are increased by 50% on Champions with a INT or CON score of 12 or higher.
    • Wisdom and Confidence — The effects of Widdle's abilities on Champions affected by Vampiric Gaze are increased by 50% on Champions with a WIS or CHA score of 12 or higher.

    Ultimate Ability

    • Vampiric Bite — Widdle leaps out and ferociously bites a random enemy, dealing enormous damage. She then leaps back into the formation where her Vampiric Bite heals her and everyone affected by Vampiric Gaze for an amount equal to her own max health.
