COTLI: Superhero Spring 4

Ominous Voiceover: "The situation has never been more dire — certainly not last year, nor the previous two years before that. It's bad. Like, really, really bad. And, once again, it's up to the Crusaders to stop--"

Deathpuddle: "BO-RING! Lets talk about me!"

Ominous Voiceover: "--I was getting to that--"

Deathpuddle: "News flash: nobody cares! About what you're saying, I mean. What they do care about, is who the next Crusader is — and it's me, Deathpuddle!"

Ominous Voiceover: "Aren't you just a ripoff of Dead--"

Deathpuddle: "Shush, you! Okay, so players, I'm coming to the game as part of Superhero Spring 4, the latest Tier 4 Event coming to Crusaders of the Lost Idols. I'll be joining the company of such copyright infringing Event Crusaders as The Bat Billionaire, The Metal Soldierette, Arachnobuddy, Foresight, and Thoonoose — and just in time for Endgame, to boot! The party stops and I take off on April 11th at noon PDT, so be sure to unlock me and get all my stuff before then!"

New Tier 4 Crusader: Deathpuddle

Deathpuddle: "Are you wondering how good I am? Of course you are. Spoiler alert: I am awesome at everything — assuming you want everything to die, that is.

I'm a killer of things. I get better at killing things with most of my upgrades. And, if you do somehow manage to get me killed, don't worry! Death is only temporary and I come back BETTER THAN EVER.

Seriously, I'm the best. Buy me!"

Crusaders Return

Deathpuddle: "I guess if you're already here you should maybe consider unlocking some of the other Crusaders who call themselves 'heroes' but really aren't all that special. Until April 9th you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their boring objectives. The Bat Billionaire, The Metal Soldierette, Arachnobuddy, Foresight, and Thoonoose are okay in a pinch, but they're no Deathpuddle!"

New Tier 4 Objectives

  • Recruit Deathpuddle | Deathpuddle takes up a slot in your formation. Lucky you! Crusaders lose 5% of their maximum health each second, and every 15 seconds or so I get bored and randomly kill an adjacent Crusader. Reach area 600.

  • Death Totally Crushes Me | The Death takes up a spot in the formation. Death randomly kills two Crusaders in each area. Reach area 700.

  • Accelerated Healing | You can only take Deathpuddle and Healer Crusaders on this adventure! Reach area 750.

  • Enter the Soul Stone | Minions of Thoonoose occupy several slots in the formation. Thoonoose increases global DPS by 100% per Superhero Spring and Gardener of the Galaxy Crusader in the formation when he occupies the center slot. Reach area 800.

  • Secret Identity | 'Normal people' take up spaces in the formation. Only Superhero Crusaders, Nate, and Bush Whacker may be used. Reach area 850.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Deathpuddle: "You can find loot in SUPERHERO CHESTS, of course! Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled Superhero Spring Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or spend your sweet, sweet, money on in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop all-tier chests. Gear for Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 Crusaders will only appear in all-tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusaders. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop. Is that all of it? Sheesh, that was a long paragraph.

You'll have until Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT to complete Superhero Spring 4! Do it! Do it now!"

Idle Champions: Festival of Fools 2
Posted in Idle Champions.

"What is the Festival of Fools", you ask?

Well, it's a celebration of feasting and foolishness observed by communities all up and down the Sword Coast. People play pranks, overeat, and overdrink as they celebrate reaching the end of winter.

But some folks take their pranks too far, and the wife of one prankster just told the Champions that her husband plans to prank a Frost Giant...

Festival of Fools 2 runs until Monday, April 1st, 2019 at 12:00pm PDT. Our latest Year Two Event introduces Rosie Beestinger, the Halfling Matriarch of the Beestinger family and Way of Shadow Monk, and brings back her adopted daughter, Strix Beestinger, the Tiefling 'Trash Witch' Sorcerer!

New Champion: Rosie Beestinger

Weighing in at just under 30 pounds and with a grandmotherly demeanor befitting her advanced age, Rosie Beestinger is easily mistaken for someone on the wrong side of the “aggressor/victim” relationship. But this is a mix-up that few people make more than once.
Rosie Beestinger is a sassy DPS Champion. Her damage increases for each Champion in the formation younger than she is, and she catches and deflects incoming missiles.

When you want to add Rosie Beestinger to your formation, you can swap her with Tyril (Slot 10). For more information about our latest Champion, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Rosie Beestinger dev blog!

Returning Champion: Strix Beestinger

The Sorcerer known as Strix is from Sigil, the City of Doors at the center of the multiverse. Very little is known of Strix's heritage, even to herself, but it was recently discovered that she was a powerful member of the Skizzicks family, who long ago made a pact with Asmodeus, ruler of the Nine Hells, to become Tieflings.
Strix Beestinger is a 'Trash Witch' DPS Champion who attacks enemies with Fireballs. Her Poor Hygiene ability causes approaching enemies to take increased damage. When you want to add Strix to your party, you can swap her with Jamilah (Slot 11).

Year Two Variants

  • A Lighter Touch — Only Champions with a Strength (STR) score of 14 or lower may be used. Additionally, Champions with an Intelligence (INT) score of 14 or higher deal 400% increased damage.

  • Flay the Fools — During boss areas, Mind Flayers appear and attack the formation. While alive, Mind Flayers make all other enemies immune to damage.

  • Beestingers Unleashed — This adventure features unique dialogue created with the help of Strix & Rosie themselves! Strix and Rosie Beestinger begin the adventure in your formation with Strix asking Rosie what it means to be a Beestinger. No other Champions are able to be used, however, both Strix and Rosie Beestinger have increased damage, increased attack speed, and reduced Ultimate ability cooldowns. Additionally, Rosie Beestinger's Matriarch also doubles her health. Completing this adventure will unlock a bee outfit for both Rosie & Strix!

Year One Variants

  • Foolish Variance — Champions randomly do between 0.1% and 199.9% of their actual damage with each hit.

  • Persistent Foolishness — The Drunken Fool appears randomly in non-boss areas. Only one can be spawned at a time, but he has special abilities each time he appears.

  • Like Father Like Son — The farmer's son takes up a slot in the formation. He moves to a new slot every 25 areas. Every 15 seconds (in non-boss areas) the farmer's son foolishly summons a Frost Giant to attack the formation unless Strix is adjacent to him.

BW2: 2019 St. Patrick's Celebration!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Bushwhackers!

The Commons is greener than usual! That’s because the Commons Party Planning Committee is putting on a St. Patrick’s day party!

Unfortunately, the guests of honour seem to have gotten lost in the bushes. Go whack them up and help them find their way to the Event Area!

There are eight Leprechauns to whack up that will help you put on a rocking St. Patrick’s Day party! Every day the event goes on, the odds to whack them up gets larger, so you can get them all before it ends. Three of them will have turn-in stations for you to do and the others will have repeatable quests for you to do for event progress.

Unlocking throughout the event are previous year quest lines:

Mr. Keith is looking to put out his special brew again. Help him find the ingredients.

Seamus is in the mood to do some whacking of his own, but first he needs your help to make the perfect shillelagh.

Siobhan is throwing her version of an Irish Feast...but the dishes got lost in the bushes. Go find them for her!

Those poor snakes are tired of being whacked so often. Help their leader out by setting up his snake relocation program efforts.

Help Bree learn about Irish mythology!

A red Leprechaun up on the Rainbow's End Island might need your help at some point.

FAQ

What are the different leprechauns?
You can whack up two types of leprechauns: hatted and non-hatted.
  • There are 8 hatted ones to find, 3 will unlock turn-in stations, and the other 5 will give you daily quests. You must manually whack these ones to capture them.

  • The non-hatted ones will drop items for you to turn into the turn-in stations. You can quick whack and mana whack non-hatted leprechauns when they appear if you wish. The non-hatted leprechauns will *always* drop some turn-in items, rather than just having a chance to.

How can I find the leprechauns?
Just keep whacking. You could whack them all up in a day if you wanted to. The odds to whack up hatted leprechauns will increase as the event goes on.

What adds to my event progress?
Turning in items to the Gold, Beer and Clover stations, and doing quests for folks in the event area.

Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

Why should I ask for friends to help boost turn-ins?
It increases the amount of progress you get from doing a turn-in.

COTLI: Hermit's Premature Party 4

There's no such thing as a party starting too early — at least, that's what The Washed Up Hermit believes. Why celebrate St. Patrick's day for just one day? Why not instead celebrate for a whole two weeks!?

Perhaps Hermit is excited because his latest guest, Ana Guinness, an internationally-renowned bartender, has really cranked the party up to 11. She's here to make sure every Crusader has the time of their lives, and with her millennia of experience to back up her skills, lets just say she knows how to keep a Tier 4 party going until the sun comes up a dozen times over.

Welcome to Hermit's Premature Party 4! Hermit's Premature Party 4 introduces Ana Guinness, and brings back Kyle the Party Bro, Larry the Leprechaun, Snickette the Sneaky, Squiggles the Clown, and Saint Patroika! The party ends on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT!

New Tier 4 Crusader: Ana Guinness

News of your exploits has spread far and wide, from the crowded cities to the hidden taverns of fae kind. Ana Guinness, bartender extraordinaire, is ready to have some adventures of her own again, after millenia serving drinks to her fellow leprechauns.

Of course, she wouldn't be a leprechaun without an affinity for treasure, and if you follow the rainbow she guards, bosses you encounter will drop silver chests more often. Plus, gold will just rain from the monsters as they die before you from her gold find abilities.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their respective objectives. Kyle the Party Bro, Larry the Leprechaun, Snickette the Sneaky, Squiggles the Clown, and Saint Patroika are all once again available to unlock!

New Tier 4 Objectives

  • Recruit Ana Guinness | Ana Guinness takes up a slot in the formation If a boss drops a chest, you lose DPS for 30 seconds. Reach area 600.

  • Leprechaun Party | Leprechauns and Elf Crusaders only. Invisible leprechaun enemies spawn randomly and are invisible, only appearing once they reach your formation. Reach area 700.

  • My Girl Likes Treasure All The Time | A Greedy Coin takes up a slot in the formation. Whenever you pick up gold, the Greedy Coin disables DPS for several seconds. The Greedy Coin also deals damage over time to Clicker Crusaders. Reach area 750.

  • Beers to You | Area quest requirements are tripled. Additionally, special Beer Monsters spawn on occasion, which increase area quest progress by 10 upon death. Reach area 800.

  • The Emerald Isle | An emerald island takes up the center slot in the formation. For every 100 monsters you kill, one Crusader gets disabled for 30 seconds. Reach area 850.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled St. Patrick's Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop.

You'll have until Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT to complete Hermit's Premature Party 4!
