BW2: Spring Garden Event 2022!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Flowers In Bloom!

The annual Grow-A-Thon has returned to the Commons! Whack the bushes and gather their bounty so that you can plant flowers and trees in the Event area to make yourself a gorgeous garden. Impress the judges every 20 hours to earn Spring tokens to buy this year’s Custom Items. You need to impress the previous judge to get a rating from the next one.

Plus, fill your magnificent garden with critters! There are 5 to get throughout the event, starting with the Squirrel today! You can send out requests for a free one.

Many Quests!

George has such a terrible green thumb, he’ll be looking for you to help him out trying to grow a plant for the first (or fourth) time.

Spring usually means spring cleaning, right? Freddy needs some help cleaning up his house. It’s gotten a little bit spooky. Cleaning items can only be whacked in his house.

Timmy wants to wake his turtle up from its hibernation after that long, cold winter. Aid him in finding things to tempt it back to consciousness.

Have too many seeds? There are things you can spend them on:
- 10 Fertilizer, once daily
- The Spring Gift Bouquet, once daily (alternatively to buying for Spring Tokens)
- Reseting the cooldown on the critic's judging of your garden

For players level 400+, Farmer McDonald will reward you with Tier 2 Spring Fruit and Spring Vegetable seeds! These crops will yield energy and gold balanced for your higher level.

Gorgeous Garden Contest

Returning is the Gorgeous Garden contest, where each Bush Whacker submits a screenshot of their garden for all to judge! Check back next week for more details.

New for 2022

If you can complete the event, you'll earn the Spring Garden Box!

More Bees!

Joel has three new species of bees for you to choose from after you complete his bee helping quests! They are the Blue Banded Bee, Neon Cuckoo Bee, and Green Carpenter Bee.

More Decorations!

Two new growable decorations have been added: the Orange Rose and White Sunflower! Plant seeds for these in your garden boxes in the event area. These can also be bought permanently from Joel at the left of the event area.

Nine new garden items can be bought for seeds: - Blue Watering Can
- Garden Fence
- Birdhouse
- Blue Birdhouse
- Heart Birdhouse
- Greenhouse
- Bee Box
- Beehive
- Stone Pond

Faster Judging!

Similar to the Halloween event, you can now spend Seeds or Bush Bucks to instantly allow the critics judge your garden, instead of waiting the full cooldown.

And finally, the critics will instantly give you their tokens if you've earned enough spring points! Each critic has a different threshold of spring points you must have before they'll do this.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I find the seeds?
Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.

  • How do I grow plants?
There are the planters outside the garden to grow flowers in. If you click on them, you can see the plant store. Each plant has a different cost and grow time to get you your event progress points. You start with 4 free planters.

  • Is it good to buy extra planters for growing the plants?
If you have the seeds to spare and prefer to plant long-growing plants, then yes, it’s worth it.

  • How do I get the Decorator achievement?
If you go into the gardening area, the store button ($) has a selection of garden decorating items, where you can find the planter styles and watering can. These items also cost seeds.

  • What are the possible seed combinations for Farmer MacDonald’s quest?
You can choose seeds that grow either Energy or Gold, and then choose between 20, 15, 4, and 3 hours of growth time.

  • Why do my custom seeds cost Gold to plant?
You created the combination, which is unlocked until they expire. Just like normal plants, they cost Gold for planting. We don't award a flat number of seeds, because not all players have the same amount of farm plots. This way, you get to choose how many you end up growing. :)
  • Why don’t my custom seeds last longer?
Because they're OP! Enjoy them while they last. :)

  • How do I please the judges?
Just keep growing plants. As your event progress increases, you will impress the judges more and more. You DO NOT need to place them in your garden if you don't wish to. The plants still count for progress.

  • Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the judges?
No, judges do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.

  • What adds to my event progress?
Growing plants worth points and completing the side quests. To get the points from your plants, you don't even need to place them in your garden! Just grow them!

  • Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

  • Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

Spring Garden Event & Flungeon Improvements (May 18th, 2022)

- Updated Spring Garden Event
- Added new customization and ranch items
- Added new ribbons and 100% reward
- Added new event mounts in Bush Bucks sale and mount packs, available the first weekend of the event
- Added 3 new pets available the second weekend of the event
- Added Orange Rose and White Sunflower growable garden decorations
- Added new garden items: Blue Watering Can, Birdhouse, Blue Birdhouse, Heart Birdhouse, Garden Fence, Green House, Bee Box, Bee Hive
- Added 3 more bee pets to choose from at the end of Joel's bee helping quest chain: the Blue Banded Bee, Neon Cuckoo Bee, and Green Carpenter Bee
- Can now rotate roses, sunflower, daisy, and buttercup ranch items
- Can now reset the cooldown on the garden critics for 1350 Seeds or 12 Bush Bucks if they're all on cooldown and you have 100% or more completion of the event, by talking to the first critic on the left and choosing the "Judge Now" chat option.
- Critics will skip walking through your garden if your progress is past that judge's threshold (like how the kids will be too afraid to enter the Haunted Mansion in the Halloween event)

- Flungeon Improvements
- Improved and added more varied rewards to the depth chests in the Flungeon 20.0. If you’ve completed 5 or more depths, you’ll find a retro-active rewards chest outside the Flungeon 20.0, which will yield random better rewards based on the number of depths you've completed.
- Boss depths have better choices for chest items
- Path reward signs in the Flungeon 20.0 no longer indicate the amount. The amounts are now varied, so it’s a surprise when you open the chest in the next depth! You'll know what type of reward you'll get, but not how much or why sub-type. Eg. Gems, but which gems and how many?
- Boss rooms except for the final room will typically have better item choices than normal rooms
- Added a Flungeon 20.0 Terminus zone at the end of every tier you complete in the Flungeon, which is where you turn-in trophies, fish, and unlock things based on your highest tier unlocked.
- Moved the Glitchkeeper from the Flungeon 20.0 Fountain Depth to the Flungeon 20.0 Terminus
- Added a Glitch for the fishing quest in the Flungeon 20.0 Fountain Depth
- Flungeon puzzle images are now randomly selected from all puzzle images in the game
- Dungeon Area popup now shows cost reduction to the 1st decimal place
- Dungeon tier progress doors also show the reward icon, for clarity
- Clarified the "Walking the Key Path" achievement can only be done on tiers 5 or higher in the Flungeon
- Fixed the sliding image puzzle never appearing

- Miscellaneous
- No longer have to wait for your last friend to fade out before you can start your next Friend Whack
- Added sound effects to the jigsaw puzzle popup
- Added tooltip over gold amount on bottom right UI that shows full gold amount (instead of abbreviated amount)
- Currencies on the "Low Energy" pop up are now formatted with tooltips, and Jade is included
- Fixed the quest complete popups not showing during Nate's Agrabush Adventure
- Hid the debug lines on the Dog House Mini Golf Piece ranch item
- Fixed the area progress tooltip on the bottom right UI
- Fixed Red Couch ranch item not being placeable flush against the back wall
- Changed ranch store category for Volcano Lamp from Misc Indoor to Misc Outdoor
- Fixed the ranch store’s gem currency list
- Formatted the gold and bush buck values on the Build Mode display
- Formatted the costs on the ranch store items
- Renamed "Beehive" ranch item to "Bee Box"
- Fixed various reported typos and quest descriptions. Keep the reports coming!
